Some docs say no, never. I have no problem with it. Ask your doc before you try though HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

I figure with it being NIH it's about as accurate as you can get...on this particular topic anyway.

Yup! 6 five minute walks work as well as 1 30 minute walk. Just keep moving!!!!!!!!

I've been pondering this a lot lately...because apparently I'm not a big boned girl after all!!! At 198 pounds my size 14 pants are starting to fall off and, dare I say this out loud, I appear to have a very delicate neck and shoulders..... When I started this, I pictured myself ending at a 14...I'm quickly pushing 12s on bottom and I've still got 44 pounds to go to a 'normal' weight....if I make that weight I think I'm looking at an 8 or possibly 6....HOLY FREAKING COW!!!!!! Never ever ever did I dream I might hit single digit sizes!!!! It's like Christmas every day HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

Fabulous February Post-Op's

So....in a normal healthy body it's ALMOST impossible to drink too much Water. Your body uses what it needs and the rest gets filtered through (there are a few odd exceptions to this though and some people do have to limit their water intake). If you're retaining Fluid you need to hit up your healthcare providers and see what's up. Some people just hold more fluid, it is normal for them. Before anyone makes that determination they need to check you out and make sure there's nothing else going on! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199

What do you do in hospital post-op?
SoccerMomma73 replied to meyouus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so bored!!!! I was the first surgery Monday morning and didn't get to leave until 7:00 Thursday night. I don't watch TV much and with the pain meds I really couldn't read (too drowsy). I walked a lot, to the point they stopped marking my laps on the board in my room and did a lot of Facebook time and RNY talk time HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199 -
Daily menu samples at different months out
SoccerMomma73 replied to Obeasta's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still a work in progress 7 months out, 44 pound to a 'normal' weight. I can't give you a menu because I really don't have a standard menu! My go to's that I keep returning to: 2% string cheese sticks-60 calories, 7 grams of Protein (I rarely go a day without at least 1 of these, sometimes 2 or 3) Dannon light and fit 2X Greek yogurt-80 calories, 12 grams of protein Apple slices ( often dipped in the above yogurt-I cannot eat an apple on the core and if I slice an apple I throw 1/2 away so I started buying pre-sliced apples....it seems wrong but since I'm not wasting any it actually saves me money, plus I'm more likely to use em if they're pre-sliced) Peanut butter-I don't eat a ton due to fats but I occasionally splurge and dip apples in it or eat a slice of toast with Peanut Butter for Breakfast (it's also part of my post-dumping recovery plan for 'those' days) Turkey deli slices-I keep these, the 2% string cheese, Dannon yogurt, a packet f tuna, and apple slices in a lunch bag in the fridge at work all the time. If I don't have time for a real lunch or forget to pack lunch, or if I get a late morning munchie attack, I'm covered. Mission carb balance tortillas (small size)-80 calories, 3 grams of protein, 9 grams of fiber!!!! When my son isn't home these are almost always the foundation of my dinner. I either spread with retried beams, pre-cooked chicken (in my freezer all the time, sprinkle with cheese, add sour cream and salsa, or scramble an egg plus 1 egg white, sprinkle with cheese and salsa, OR spread with laughing cow cheese, add turkey slices and cheese of some variety. I fill the tortilla until it's about to explode and typically can't finish the last bite or two. Not on the approved list-I keep pretzels around all the time. If I'm craving crunchy or salty I can grab a handful (which turns out to be about 1/2 of a serving). Or 4 or 5 saltine cracker either plain, with cheese slices, or laughing cow on em. I also keep 100 calorie popcorn packs, perfect size for me to get my fix. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199 -
For me it was a no. Raw veggie were well after softs. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199

Any September surgeries out there
SoccerMomma73 replied to SueC1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There will be a time, that you an have a bite or two....and that'll be enough. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199 -
Pretty sure your doc would say yes, it"s too soon. Focus on yourself and becoming the healthiest that you can possibly be. The first year post-op with an RNY is very stressful to both your body and mind. you need this time to heal and be healthy, don't rush it. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199

What does 'clinical review required' mean?
SoccerMomma73 replied to sawyersmommy's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was the same way. After waking up from my band removal WITHOUT an RNY I really didn't believe it would actually happen until I woke up after the next surgery with an RNY! I just knew something else would happen!!!! Try not to fret and enjoy the moment you deserve this! -

The only gummy I take is a Fiber chew....because really, it's fiber, its job is to go right through and sweep things out, no biggie if it doesn't digest! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199 -

You're set sister!!! Congratulations! If you got an approval from insurance, your only issue is getting your surgical team to schedule it. There really shouldn't be a problem from this point! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199 -

So many different things this could be...ranging from nothing to seriously yucky stuff. I really think this is best left to your healthcare provider to determine HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 199
