    Not feeling full

It was a good 6-8 weeks before my stomach could register a full feeling. Don't eat til you feel full, eat what you're supposed to. It may be a while before you actually feel 'full'. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

Afraid to start the protein milkshakes

You need protein to heal. Do what your surgeon says, they've done this before and know what your body needs.

    Blueberry Muffin - Minimal Dumping

I can eat anything that's not too high in carbs (I AM a dumper), so yes, I had 6 puffy Cheetos and they were the bomb. And it'll be another six months before I let another bag in my house!!!nothing causes me pain or discomfort unless I eat too fast or don't chew. So yes, there's hope!!!! And really, there's no reason to deny yourself a bite or two of something deliciously bad once in a while...I still want to be able to eat with my family and enjoy good food, just less of it. I don't want to be that girl that has to avoid everything for fear of binging. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198
  7. Randomly..this still happens to me at totally random times (7 months post). I'll be STARVING and then 2 bites in I'm thoroughly disgusted and want no more. Seems to happen mostly with meat. I'm not wasting away though! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

    Blueberry Muffin - Minimal Dumping

I'm not crazy...you're doing the exact same thing again. BE CAREFUL!!!! This surgery is not magic, no one else can make you not eat the crap. YOU have to do this...whether it makes you sick or nit, you have to make the right choices. Please be careful. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

    Blueberry Muffin - Minimal Dumping

Okay so I guess my question is why are you feeling the need to sabotage yourself this soon after surgery? If you wanted carbs you could have gotten a doughnut hole or two? Or a Breakfast burrito with healthy toppings. Bad for you, but not full sized muffin bad. What difference does it make if you dump or not? You had this surgery to be healthy. I hate to be harsh but I get the impression your doing your best to push the limits. This isn't about what you can or cannot eat. It's about what you should or shouldn't eat. None of us are perfect (I had Cheetos today!!! OMG!!!! Heaven in a bag). Just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should. I may be wrong but I swear I remember you posting very soon post op about eating things you weren't supposed towns upset at that point because you didn't dump...the RNY does not reprogram your brain. YOU still have to make appropriate choices...a muffin will not be the death of you, however, I'm concerned about your choice to have the muffin at this point. If you try, You can eat around an RNY, just as you can eat around a band, but why would you do that on purpose? I am concerned for you that there us something deeper happening here. Please be careful. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

    Protein bars?

    Protein bars?

Broke down last week and ordered the Quest sample pack. Just got it today. Had 1/3 of an apple pie bar for a bedtime snack (okay so I just really wanted to try em!). I didn't love the texture but the flavor is pretty good. I'd buy that flavor again. I'd really love a bar that got real texture and isn't just mush. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

    Surgery was yesterday! Liquids question

I Never gad trouble drinking as well. Nurses freaked me out at the hospital because I wanted more than an ounce safety 10 minutes, doc was like 'well okay, drink it and see what happens' it was no biggie. I did eventually find out if I take a big gulp it doesn't feel so hot but anything shy of a gulp and I'm fine. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

  20. Having failed with a band and requiring 2 extra surgeries to get the RNY, I wouldn't do anything shy of the full gastric bypass....but that is a very personal decision for each of us. Good luck with your decision!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198

    Must haves for post op?

I bought a relatively cheap food scale and used it all the time at first. I test myself off and on with it these days to make sure I'm still true in my size estimates. I used my ninja a lot the first 2 months. Like someone else said, Water and I did not agree, I used a variety of different flavoring a early on, thankfully water and I are friends again. chicken broth, cream of chicken Soup, retried Beans, SF Jello and pudding mixes, yogurt were probably my main stays for the first several weeks. In all my brilliance I'd make up a zillion little cups of Protein pudding, retried bean mix, baked ricotta, etc. had a refrigerator full so I could grab 4 or 5 bowls to keep at work with me (I was back at work 10 days post-op) and without fail threw away 1/2 of my carefully prepared little cups...yet I continued to prep the cups and throw them away week after week I just never used as many as I knew I would! Oh, yeah, small ziplock 1/2 cup bowls, used em a TON! I also had 3 drink bottles with ounces marked on them. 1 for water. 1 for juice (1 was required to drink juice diluted with water to increase calorie intake for the first 6 weeks) and 1 for shakes. SF breath mints! Good luck! Just don't spend a ton on fancy gadgets, there's very little you truly need. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 198
