  1. This is going to be snarky so look away now if easily offended, but does anyone else read this thread with "I'm a model, you know what I mean and I do my little turn on the catwalk, on the catwalk, yeah, on the catwalk, I shake my little tush on the catwalk"going through their head or is it really just me?
  2. Elcee, Elcee, Elcee......you obviously don't have the intelligence, understanding, or originality to have a valuable view on the matter.

    Getting "regular" Again...

Keep In mind, if you've been on a liquid diet pre-op there's probably not much to move through....for me MOM is an overnight kind of thing....take it at bedtime and usually the next morning it makes itself known. I usually take colace stool softener a opulent days pre-op and a couple days post-op because every time I have surgery I get caked up. The constipation after my c-section was worse than the surgical pain!!! Good luck!

    Band Removal

I'm 3 weeks post removal and can honestly say the band helped my eating habits. I can have a couple bites of the really really bad stuff instead of eating til I'm stuffed....however, long term it would be a major struggle.

    My Stomach Died.

Holy cow!!! I hope you feel better and please take care of yourself. Any idea why they let your slip go so long???? Mine was found on a Thursday and by Friday I was on the schedule for urgent removal the following week, I guess I should go thank my doc

    Question

Very very different for everyone....different bodies, different band sizes, there's just not. Standard amount. Some people feel they've hit green with no fills, some max their band out.

    How Much How Often?

Per the CDC: 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic activity weekly PLUS strength training 2 or more times a week that involves all large muscle groups for adults up to 65....I typically tell my patients 45-60 minutes 4-5 days a week....7 seems unattainable :/

    Revision Approval?

My band slipped so removal was medically necessary and insurance approved it no problem. I was worried about revision approval because my BMI is now 36 and I have no comorbidities. However, for a change, insurance was fairly smart and said, since my band failed they would assume without the band I would return to my pre-op BMI (50) and my hypertension would return so the approved revision to whatever procedure my bariatric surgeon recommended....the entire approval from first phone call took 30ish minutes since it was considered an urgent surgery. Sadly, my stomach was inflamed and generally pissed off at the time so band was removed and I have a six month healing time before revision.

    Lapband Revison To Sleeve

Holy cow you have WAY too much time on your hands!!!!!!
  10. Today I am 3 weeks post band removal and 173 days until my bypass it sucks but you gotta do whatever is safest and has the best chance of a good long term outcome.
  11. I had my band on Wednesday and went to work the following Monday. I'm on my feet all day too but no lifting or straining. The first 2 days I was pretty tired, by Wednesday (1 week post op) I was ready to roll....but also 6 weeks is fine for an appearance with friends, you'll just have to be careful, you can always say you've had a stomach bug or something.
  12. Lesson learned the hard way. For my first visit and weigh in to the surgeon, I wore the lightest clothing I owned, didn't drink anything, and attempted to pee every last drop out before getting on the scale. At my follow up it dawned on me how incredibly unbrilliant this was! I should have worn normal to heavy clothes and slurped all the water in the world so later it looked like I'd lost more! Oops!

    Lapband Revison To Sleeve

Band taken out 3 weeks ago, will be getting bypass in February. Worst case scenario, you try diet and exercise and are not successful....then you can consider the sleeve more seriously. If you are truly dedicated to diet and lifestyle changes, maybe you can do it now, maybe the band was the training weeks you needed and now you'll be fine without anything. If you are gaining, if you are getting out of control, set down and have a serious discussion with your surgeon about it. Good luck!!!!

    Bat Wings Anyone?

Working out will tone the underlying muscle and make the overall aesthetic a bit better. The skin will shrink a tad with time. BUT for the most part, once skin is stretched beyond the breaking point of its elasticity you are up a creek....think of a rubber band (or condom if that works better for you) you can stretch and stretch and stretch it, but once it's snapped, no matter how much you try, you can't put it back together. Those elastic fibers are broke.

    Denied :(

I can seriously hold 5 pounds of water weight if I try....potato chips and salty nuts will get me every time (and make my blood pressure go up so I'd have a comorbidity!)

    Net Cals

My exercise calories are my window to play with (keep in mind I'm attempting to maintain, not lose). I shoot for what MFP says is my daily goal then if I go over a little I'm covered by exercise. I do not intentional eat my exercise calories on a daily basis though....
