My name is Joann and I have been batteling with my weight for many many years. I am married and have to teenage children. I am in the first stages of the Lapband proceedings.  I feel like I need this surgery to be happy with myself and healthy. My weight has been a roller coster for  years and is getting very depressing. I want to be healthy again so I can do the things that I want to do with my family that is difficult to do at this point in my life.  I have went through my appointments with my family doctor and the bariatric clinic and my insurance was sent all information for approval. I was denied which only took a couple weeks to deny.  Go figure.  I spoke with the nurse at Dr. Tomita's office, (which have been wonderful) and she suggested I write an appeal letter. I wrote an appeal letter sent it to the nurse for her to look over and she thought that I should wait to send the appeal in until February of 2010 since by that time I will have been on prescription for high blood pressure.  So that is where I stand with my story.  If anyone has Aetna Insurance and knows of some key pointers to help with the approval let me know, any information is appreciated and wanted.  Thanks againJoann
