I would make an excellent leader because I am compassionate, friendly, honest, open, encouraging, and I am available to lead a group. Additionally I have experienced morbid obesity and I know what it feels like to be overweight and hopeless. I also know what it feels like to be given hope and an excellent tool of weight loss surgery to help me on my journey to health and fitness. I had the lap band and later had to have it revised to the sleeve. I have lost over 80 pounds. My weight loss has been slow compared to others who have had the surgery but it has been progressive. Currently there is no active weight loss surgery support group in my area. I attend meeting in Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia when my schedule permits. I was very active in the Decatur, Georgia group for a while (Steering Committee and hospital support for WLS patients) but had to step down due to health issues. Becoming a Local Support Group Leader will not only allow me to be of support to other WLS patients in my area but would provide me the continued support I need as well. Excitingly Awaiting your response. -

Good Morning Alex, I would love to start a group as well. Starting a support group in my home town would be preferable but I am willing to attend a group until I can start one in Hampton, GA. I fit in with most of the above categories. I work in Atlanta so if you are thinking about starting a group that would be convenient to me, I am willing to be of any support that I can. -

How do i break through a stall?!
Bfatfree replied to Jenny L's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a stall that lasted for about two months. Don't be discouraged; keep eating according to your plan, exercising and drinking Water. I had to reevaluate my eating and cut way down on carbs. When I closely monitored my water drinking I realized that I was not drinking nearly enough water ( only 30 ounces). I made the changes and the following month I started losing weight again. -
Wishing you much success on your weight loss journey. Continue to learn as much as you can. I am available to encourage you in any way I can

I recently became a member as well. I am a bander and on October 8, 2013. I will convert to the sleeve. I am looking forward to sharing my experience as well as hearing from other sleevers. I wish you both well on your upcoming surgery. -
Congratulations on your surgery date! I have been approved and am waiting for a call for my surgery date. Hopefully I will join you as one of the August Sleevers. Keep us posted.
