  2. 5 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 5th Anniversary LB lady!

  3. HI LB Lady, I noticed your post is quite old and I'm wondering how you're doing now? I was banded 5 months ago and am still not quite where I would like to be as far as fills but I think I'm progressing at a good rate. I'd love to know how you're doing

    Depression after surgery.

:cry Has anyone else felt as though they were grieving at the loss of not being able to eat those old comfort foods? I'm struggling a little bit and have unfortunately taken it out on my husband. He wants to take friends out to dinner and do things like that and after trying it once and puking each time I tried to even eat macaroni salad I said "no more". I feel sad a lot and athough am thankful for the surgery and the weight loss am still missing being able to have a pbj sandwich. I don't think I really faced the fact of exactly how much "comfort" eating I was really doing. My body has the band but now my mind needs it as well. Any tips? Thanks, your fellow bander in Oregon. banded 12/6/05

Hi, and I am new from Nevada

:clap2: Hello Patty, You'll be just fine. I had my lapband surgery December 6, 2005 and it went very well and was fast - your in and out quickly. The only real issue I had was carrying my big belly around with both hands when I got up to go to the bathroom or walk anywhere for the first week or so. You'll so happy once its all done and your begin your new life. I am so tickled for you. Enjoy the anticipation and keep your eyes on the prize! Deb
  8. I thought I was an abberation and the only one who ever had to spit because it was not going down. Thanks everyone for making my day. It better now hardly ever spit anymore. Learning to chew and not drink with my meal. Banded in December 2005 lost 30 lbs 1.5 cc
  9. I understand completely where you're coming from. I too try with a vengence to eat bread but no-can-do.I've tried to drink those shakes and although I don't mind them at all they do not satisfy my appetite at all and leave me starving for any kind of real food. Hang in there it will get better.
