Hello Everyone! I am 33 years old and looking back as a child and teenager I was very active and in alot of sports. When I was stressed I ran but that was than. Now I believe I am more of an emotional eater and have had some family streesors that have lead to depression. I think a combination of the medication and also my emotional eating has caused me to gradually each year gain about 10-15 pounds. I have tried tons of diets out there not to mention even pills that have very bad side effects just because my weight makes me so depressed. I try to exercise but I am so out of shape that walking up and down the stairs leaves me breathless. My breaking point was over the summer when I went to an amusement park and my son wanted me to ride the roller coaster (last time we went there I fit just fine) I had to squeeze in it and everyone was watching; I was almost in tears.....I suffer my high blood pressure, asthma and the last blood work my blood sugar levels were a little high but not high enough for diabetes. However my daughter was just diagnosed so I want to live and BE a healthier person and family not just for myself but for my family. I am just starting to go to the process and STILL have to get "approved" by insurance so I am really crossing my fingers. My BMI is not quite at 40 but since I have other issues my doctor is hoping it will be approved. Anyways, I know its not just going to be a surgery but a lifestyle change and I am ready!!!
