I browsed the site before having my lap band done...to be honest I was discouraged that I found no one as large as me...it made me nervous...so despite the cringing face I am making...lol...I was 407 in the first picture..253 in the last its been 8 months

:Dancing_wub:Has anybody on this site had a thyroid issue hypothyroid/thyroid cancer/ and had a thyroidectomy? The reason I ask is I wonder if it effects how a lap band will help you lose weight? I have had a thyroid removal due to cancer and I weighed 148 before its removal. I now weigh in at 226 and I can't seem to stop my weight gain. I am so scared that the lap band won't help me cause of the thyroid thing. Is anyone out there going through this or blazed the trail. I really need to know if this is worth going through if it will help me.

So have you ditched all of your obese friends or is it just a coincidence you havent seen them? I ask because sometimes its hard to hang out with the heavy eaters once you have your surgery -
This is my newest picture.. I am now down a total of 92 lbs. Only 8 more to my mark! Started out at 302 now 210. :)
