Gave up moveing on my life
the new jill replied to no one understands's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i had the band put in a few years ago and had to have it removed...just in december i had the band put back in. i had severe complications with the 1st band, i had no fluid and could not eat anything and barely drink anything. i was in/out of the hospital just to get hydrated. i delt with that issue for almost a year and couldnt deal with it anymore..i suggest going to your dr and making sure there isnt a blockage or slippage in the band..i'm not saying thats what it is. do u remember eating something and it got stuck a few days ago? -

the new jill replied to mskutz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you need to realize that you're still in the healing process. its totally normal to get hungry even though you already have the band. the hardest part is behind you. make sure you are getting enough protein! be patient, once you get your fill, then its a different story. good luck! -

corn or flour tortillas???
the new jill replied to dontgoggilme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They have whole wheat, spinich, sundried tomato tortillas, i would opt for one of those. instead of using 2 pieces of tortillas, use one and fold in 1/2..remember our eyes are bigger than out stomachs..hope your doing well! -

It finally happened... good-bye, breads and pasta!
the new jill replied to jenibeni's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i replaced pasta with spaghetti squash! it light, hardly any calories and can serve with almost anything. if i want a sandwhich, i use cold cuts and add avacado with some mustard you can add some cole slaw/broccoli slaw mix they sell them in bags...it gives a crunchy texture and all healthy -
Did something very naughty, paid for it BIG time

i find it hard sometimes to sit and eat at the same time...a had the band before and had to have it removed bc of complications and just had it put back in. i would vomit all the time, even if there wasn't anything to throw up. it sounds gross, but i used to have a spit up bottle in my car bc i never know if a drink would come up and when ur driving and have nowhere to pull over, it sucks and can be messy. food that is also lubricated/juicy (sounds dirty..lol) does go down easier. i find chicken can be to dry on the inside and will get stuck. after you get stuck definately go to hot broth and tea for a day and then liquids the next and so on.. hope that helps -
i'm not really sure. right before my fill i started to feel a little pain on my side and wasn't sure if it was possible gas (literally 3 mins before my fill) just on liquids today, so i'll know more tomorrow and the next. just remember that everyones body is differenti would say just take things slowly. how much are you able to eat?

very cute!!! -
ive said in alot of my posts, that i feel every bandster should invest in a juicer..you get your fruits and veggies and add some protein powder (vanilla or plant protein). especially on days when yoou feel stuck, you can always try and sip your nutrients. making sure you have enough protein will help to not lose hair.
-
btw good luck!!

protein drinks, broth, sugar-free ice pops, i do believe ever bandster should invest in a juicer. (you can get them cheap, and not as messy as people make them seem) you get your fruits veggies and add powdered protein (vanilla is great and some health food stores sell plant protein)

you dont have to personally worry about how many cc's, thats for the dr to figure depending on how much food you can tolerate now. todat i had my 2nd fill which i have a total of 5cc's so im on the liquid stage but after my 1st fill i had 3.5ccs and i was able to eat alot and almost everything. make sure you wait about 15 mins after the fill and try to drink some water to make sure everything goes down fine. i've notice sometimes you have to wait alot longer like a few hours. hope that helped. good luck tomorrow

the new jill replied to ElizabethNYC's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
she did my first lap band..need i say that she has no bed side manner and basically would call me a liar bc i had severe complications, was in and out of the hospital constantly, but lost 100lbs in about a year. i had to take the band out, she told me i would gain all my weight back within the year. she made me very upset every visit. now 2 years later i had gained only 25-30lbs and decided to put my band in at NYU. hope you have better luck with her and that group. -

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor looking for someone who is looking for a buddy and who is having surgery in december
the new jill replied to fatgirlnomore7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my band on 12/22/09...i'm 27..thing is, i had the lap band before and had complications and needed it removed (was successful with weight loss) had the band out about 2 years and decided to put it back in. i had lost about 90-100lbs the 1st time and gained 25lbs in 2 years. i was constantly in and out of the hospital and i do have my share of stories. this time around i went to NYU, and my experience this time around has been night/day. the funny thing is, i feel like its my first time getting the lap band. I'm looking to do things differently and definately having a buddy.support system is one of them...if your interested let me know!! good luck to everyone!!
