Who all out there has the VG 11 band and where are you at as far as your total fill?? I recently got a 1.2 cc fill that put's me at 7 cc's, I'm going pretty good restriction wise ...for now. How bout everyone else?
-
No I didn't, if I remember correctly the doctor thought they might have developed from the reflux. I should find out in the next couple of days the status of the polyps but i'm not worried about it since most of those turn out benign (at least from what i've read).

I got a letter about a month ago from true results (formerly lapband solutions) offering to do an elective follow up since i've had my band for over a year. I figured i'd go ahead and do it finding out that my insurance would cover it 100%. I have to admit i'm a little scared having this done, I'm afraid that i'll wake up from it and find out something is wrong. My most recent fill I did experience a lot of acid like problems daily but haven't had it for the past few weeks. Has anybody else had this done after their one year? (later or before..) how did your procedure turn out? I'm going in tomorrow at 10am for mine  :sneaky: :leaving:

Just got home from my endoscopy...so here's the results.. The good: band placement is fine, no slip, no erosion The bad: pouch it dilated from being too tight, from the pictures they took there was still food in my pouch from when I ate at 8:30pm yesterday. They went ahead and removed 1cc from my band. I was at 7.9 cc's in my VG 11 band. Ulcer was showing in the esophagus, he prescribed me nexium for that. Also removed some polyps found in my esophagus as well I just need to do a full liquid diet today, soft foods for tomorrow and then I can ease regular food back in. I'm just glad it's over with, wish my pouched hadn't of dilated but I guess it's better than having something that CAN'T be easily fixed.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
horns10 replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well here's my 1 year pics, I'm not exactly where I had hoped I would be by now (I was hoping to be at or closer to 100lbs lost) but a lot of that is because of me not eating and definitely not exercising like I should be...been really hard when you work evening/overnight hours plus overtime. I was losing at a steady rate, but these last 30-35 lbs have been the hardest to lose..so hopefully the next pic I get a chance to post is me making goal. On the morning of surgery 04/12/07. 04/16/08. -
What do you do with your old clothes??

I've told people I work with and family members but for some reason I haven't bothered telling my friends that I still keep in touch with from high school (that i'm still close to). One of them pointed out that she noticed I had been losing weight and was surprised at how much better I looked but I tried to avoid talking about it altogether, why I honestly don't know. I don't mind if I hear (every once in awhile) that i'm looking great, looking 'better'...etc. But I just HATE it when I go in to get weighed at my wife's office (she works for the county health clinic) and they call me 'skinny mini', i'm like "call me that when i'm closer to goal"...lol.

I was banded back in April 07, from then until now I’ve gone from 307 at the time of my surgery to 250, I was down to 248 as of two weeks ago but for some reason I’m now up 2lbs to 250. I have a VG 11 band and from 5 fills so far a total of a little over 6-6.5 cc's (if I remember right) This is the first time I’ve gained since I was banded and not sure what to think of it. My diet hasn't changed or has my exercising, I'm just wondering if I’ve hit one of those 'plateau's' and I’m retaining Water, body hasn't adjusted..Etc or something along those lines. I've read a few past threads about people plateauing but wanted to know if anyone could please give me some advice.
-
Thanks for the advice Jax Maybe it's just 'extra weight' in my colon, my wife is always telling me i'm full of $h1t so maybe that's my problem :biggrin2: Thanks to you as well Jack for your advice, I always enjoy reading your posts.

I feel like at this point I have 'pretty' good restriction (seems like it varies day to day almost). I could probably use another small fill but really threw me off seeing as how my weight loss just came to a complete stop and even backpeddled a little.

Poll - what causes you the biggest problem to get down?
horns10 replied to Boysaway's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
mostly any of kind bread is impossible... Tried eating steak the other day and it came up for a bow... Sometimes eggs, bananas can be tough but as long as I take small bites it's no problem I just got a fill today and i'm up to 7cc's in my VG 11 band, i'm curious to see what foods i'll still be able to tolerate. :faint: -

Went and got my fill today, the nurse practioner that I had was the same one who gave me my last fill in August, she was real nice and willing to answer my questions.. (if I remember right her name was Tameya or something like that) she gave me a 1.2 cc fill for a total of now 7cc in my VG 11 band. Trueresults (fill center) is adjacent to the Surgery center of Richardson, the enterance is just to the right of the main entrance of the surgery center (for those who haven't been to get their fills yet) -

The fills are done in the surgery center building now instead of the other office that was on the 2nd floor (at least that's how I understand it now). I'm going in tomorrow to get a much needed fill, if I happen to get this individual and she gives me the 'tude i'll be sure to let the staff there know about it. -
I know how you feel, I can still hear those names I was called back in junior/high school and i'm 31. Don't let someone's ignorance and lack of class get to you, you don't deserve it. Just think, maybe they felt it was necessary to say something to make up for their lack of genitaila?

If any of you guys still drink pepsi products (pepsi, mt.dew, slice...etc) and happen to get a bottle/can pack that says "call your play" and has the picture of a football player on it, please send me a pm or email me if you don't plan on using your codes that are under the cap or on the box. Thanks!!
-
I still drink it, I mostly try to sip it or wait til it goes flat. I can definately tell when I try to drink it 'normally'..the difference it has on me now since i've had the band. I'm mostly drinking pepsi's now though just to get those codes underneath the cap...lol. BTW, if any of you guys drink pepsi, mt.dew, slice...etc and get ones that say "call your play" with a picture of a football player on it, please email me your codes if you have no use for them. Thanks!

Had first fill on 05/24...already feel like I need another
horns10 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the VG 11 band and at the time of surgery I was told I had 1 cc put in, on May 24th they put in another 2 for a total of 3cc's. The first couple of days after the fill I could tell I was really restricted, PB'd twice in two days after the fill. However now I feel like I'm not getting little to no restriction now, even feel more hungry as the days go by even though I haven't changed my eating habits and I was staying full for awhile after I first got that fill.... AIGB in Richardson scheduled me for my next fill not until July 5th. Is this normal to have to wait so long in between fills?? -
I have the VG 11 myself, I was told once the surgeon looks inside at your parts he/she will make the determination then what size band you need.
-
80 POUNDS IN 2 1/2 MONTHS??!??! HOLY COW!! That is awesome, what exactly is your diet like?? I got my band on April 12th and had my first fill this past Monday. When I got my band my surgeon filled it with 1 cc and on Mon I got an additional 2 cc's... Since then i've PB'd twice (finally getting proper restriction looks like) and i've lost about 19 lbs so far, wish I was closer to your number of lbs lost.

Hi, I apologize if this question has been covered before but I wasn't able to find any answers with a quick forum search. Was curious to know how long some of you banders were off work and how long your Dr wanted you off work?? Thanks!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
horns10 replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Went and weighed myself today and i'm down to 295 from my original weight on my OP day (04/12) of 307... I have to admit i'm a little disappointed, I had really hoped to be closer to 20lbs lost by now given i'm pretty much just eating soups and anything low fat/cal right now. Maybe i'm just being over anxious... I had really been watching what I eat but at the same time it's been hard because I feel like I have little to no restriction. I'm thinking things will get better once I can get a fill or two in, considering the size of my band (VG 11) maybe that's just what I need, well that and waiting for my follow up with my surgeon to get the OK to start going to the gym and hitting the weights. Any suggestions or words of encouragement I would greatly appreciate Randy -
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
horns10 replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I went and weighed myself today being exactly two weeks ago and I was a little discouraged compared to the last time i weighed. When I weighed on 04/17 (my surgery date was 04/12) I had lost 7 lbs!! When I weighed today I had only lost one I'm thinking I hadn't lost more considering the huge reduction I had the first week and my body hit a small brief plateau as a result, or is it because i'm now in the mushy stage (started on 04/22) and eating a lot of soups that naturally have a lot of sodium...retaining a lot of water perhaps? I dunno, was just really looking forward to my second weigh in and had hopes to see better results #'s wise.
