  1. Happy 45th Birthday swish!

  2. Happy 44th Birthday swish!

  3. My insurance requires a 6 month pre op supervised weight loss program. I was on medifast for 6 months and went to my doctor to check in for weight every two months. Does anyone know if medifast is accepted by insurance companies. My insurance is Regence Blue Shield of WA. Also, what exactly does my doctor need to include in her letter. It is amazing that doctors are not sure what to put or how to make this easier for the patients. Any feedback would be appreciated, I want to do this right the first time. I don't know if I could handle an appeal.

First Doctor visit to begin the process...

Well met with Dr Oh today got all the medical history told me I would have to go for EGD and if that okay we could go forward if approved by my insurance. I have regence. Anyone else have Regence. I have done the 6month medical supervised diet and gave Dr Oh a letter from my doctor so I hope that that will get the approval through. I wish I had more control over it. It will be hard to wait for approval.

  6. I just went to my first seminar also, and I can relate. Surgery is a big choice and it sucks that it has gotten to this point, but even though I am scared about the surgery and major life change, I know it is a tool that can finally help me be a success. Hang in there!
  7. Thanks for your comment to my blog... just to clear up the fact that i was never denied, but never recieved an answer to the multiple times that my doctor sent my information. It was all miscommunication: which I THINK may be the insurance company's plan. Confuse the patient... we don't pay.

BUT, i poked and prodded and played their game and finally got in touch with someone who KNEW what they were doing and got the claim submitted and they approved it on the FIRST submission!!! WHOO HOO!!!

i am so excited. FOUR days to go!!!

beginning my journey to a healthier ME!!!

I am excited for you. I myself have much the same story as you, my kids are 16, 10, and 8. I have struggled my whole life with my weight. I am excited that your opportunity for life change is fast approaching. I just went to my first seminar and have my first dr appt on 1/13. Can I ask who your insurance is with, why were you denied, etc. I am worried about the insurance end of it. I can afford it on my own and I feel I need this to save an recover my life. I would love to hear your whole story and be here along the way to support you and cheer your success.

    Thinking about major changes

I can relate. I am going on the 13 for my first doctor appointment, but my mind keeps telling me you don't want to do this what will you do without your friend "food", whatever kind of food I want that would mean, but I know for my health and family I have to make this change-ugh! Hang in there you are not alone.
