Remember to bring slip on shoes, you won't want to bend down to put your shoes on. Take some comfy clothe to change into at the hosptial, so you won't have to wear that awful gown. Make sure you have plenty of sugar free popsicles. Hot broth is good. Tea is also good.

Anything with ground turkey. Beans are a good choice. Chicken salad, egg salad, crab salad.

I really hope that when the band is unfilled I could once again eat some of the foods I like. I also plan to have the band unfilled when I get to goal weight. I could always fill it back up if I feel I need to lose weight, but I could not imagine not beign able to eat a sub. again. I think we use this tool as needed, anyways I hope that is the case.

OMG. I am in the same boat as you. What a bad beer and food weekend. I had a great time, but I totally fell off the wagon. I feel like I am back to the old me. I have to go get a fill. I am calling today. I should not be able to eat everything I ate this weekend. I also drank beer, I am sad to confess.

Favorite Restaurant Foods??
Bell1138 replied to Kris110385's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tuna tartar of tuna tataki is a good option in a japanesse restaurant. I like to eat the salmon and mashed potatoes from Long Horn. Macaroni Grill also has salmon and mashed potatoes of veggies. I don't find it difficult to order when I go out to eat. Fish is always a great choice. -
I am going to be honest with you I had the same thoughts, it got to the point that i said that I would no longer think about it and just go forward with the surgery. I hate that I let myself get to the point that I would need to do something so drastic like get Weight loss surgery. I am 5 weeks post-op and I still question my decision, I worry that something will go wrong with the band, and to be honest with you, this is not a quick fix. Having the band doesn't mean you are going to lose weight. I feel like I am just dieting, and I have to have a lot of willpower if not I will not lose. My advice is don't think that just because you get the band you will eventually be skinny, this weight loss surgery doesn't work like that. There are days when I just want this thing out of me.

Any Suggestions Stoped losing
Bell1138 replied to Kittyel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on my 6th week and in the same boat. I lost 15lbs. the first 3 weeks and nothing since. I am doing the same thing eating 3 meals and drinking a lot of water. I am so fustrated, I feel like I am on a diet. I am still hungry, I have to have tremendous willpower so I don't over eat, I hope this lap band is not another diet mistake. I have read a lot of post about people in the same situation we are in. NO WEIGHT LOSS. -
I use Olivo, which is a butter substitute made from olive oil, it not only taste awesome but it is really good for you. Please try it you will love it.

I am 1 month post-op and I have noticed that when I reach fullness, I begin to burp. It is so weird, it is like a sign saying that is enough you need to stop eating. Does anyone else experience burping when you are full?

I just found out a friend of mine who had gastric bypass done a year ago was found dead at home. He had the gastric bypass and lost over 150 lbs. , he did not live by the doctors rules. He was constantly drinking alcohol even after being hospitalized a week ago because he was not eating and drinking to much alcohol. I spoke to him last week after being discharged from the hospital and he was once again drinking. What a tragic loss, I think people must really weigh their options and examine their life style when choosing weight loss surgery. Gastric bypass patients are told that they could never never again eat sweets or drink alcohol, one must be ready to give these up for life it they choose gastric bypass.

3 Days after surgery and throwing up everything!
Bell1138 replied to Kris110385's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same thing, and I ended up going to the ER. They accidentally left 2 ccs of fluid in the band. The Dr. removed the fluid in the ER and I immidiately felt relief and was able to drink fluids. I would go check if there is any fluid in the band. The swelling and fluid left in the band can be preventing you from keeping anything down. -
How long does it take to eat a 'regular' meal?
Bell1138 replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said 1/2 cup per meal. I think this sounds like so little. What do you guys think? -
6 Weeks Post Op and No Fill Necessary?
Bell1138 replied to meandtheboys's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No fluid in the band, the dr. even checked. He got a needle and made sure the band was empty. Very Weird..... -
I am 1 month post op and I have been doing pretty good. A couple of days ago, my throat began to hurt. My throat does not hurt in the way that it hurts when I am sick. My esophagus just feels sore. I had a hiatal hernia repair with the surgery, and I have not experience any hurt burn since; I am so happy about that, but my throat feels like when my esophagus use to get irratated from having constant hurt burn;l have not felt any hurt burn. Has anyone experienced anything similar.

6 Weeks Post Op and No Fill Necessary?
Bell1138 replied to meandtheboys's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I was the only one out there that felt restriction without a fill. I am 1 month post op and I have lost 15lbs. no pre-op diet. I went to the dr. yesterday, but was very hesitant about getting a fill because I feel that I have some restriction. I did end up getting only 2ccs and now I feel as if I have a lot of restriciton. I don't know if this is normal or not. -
Is there anyone at restriction at 5cc or am i a freak! lol
Bell1138 replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess then I am a really big freak because I had my first fill today and the doctor offered to put 4cc's in my 10cc band, but I told him I would perfer 2ccs right now because I feel restriction. I got the 2ccs and I feel as if I have restriction. I get full very easily. Let me know what you guys think. -
My highest (327) and now. 200 pounds. Size 16.

Bell1138 replied to mears06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Confused!!!
Bell1138 replied to outside*looking*in's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completly understand where you are coming from "outside looking in". I am 18 days post-op. for the first 2 weeks I loar 10 lbs., and since then nothing. I was so fustrated, I was eating very small portions around 800 cals. a day. I even posted my concerns and fustrations last week, but since this Saturday, I don't know what happen but the scale went down 4lbs. I am so happy. The only thing I could think was that my body was getting use to loosing those 10 lbs so quickly. I am scared that I will get stuck again. Hang in there it will happen. -
I am 18 days post-op, I get my first fill in a week in a half. I have a 10cc band and the doctor usually fills 4cc during the first fill. I have two questions. I am really scared to do the entire 4cc fill because I am scared that it will be to much and I won't even be able to swallow water. During surgery my band was left with 2cc in it and after surgery I could not get any fluids down so they had to remove the 2cc, that is why I am so afraid. Also, I hear that many people say they are swollen after a fill, why is that? Why is it that your stomach swells after a fill?

Okay Okay... bandster hell?!?
Bell1138 replied to MissCherita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completly understand how you feel. I am 17 days post-op, and I still have gas, not as bad as the girst week and a half, but after I eat I feel so bloated. I still look about 6 months pregnant. I looked 9 months pregnant after surgery and many days after. I was also wondering am I now going to suffer from gas constantly. I have never had gas pains before surgery, this is all new to me.
