  1. Ok i recently ditched my ex boyfriend .. moved out (he wasnt supportive of my surgery or my weightloss) and decided to restart my life .. So i decided to do a little drinking. Now i didn't throw up or anything but my little stomach is very tender and when i move it hurts.. I have no idea why it feels like this. I want to eat as well but What should i eat when feeling like this? Please help me out bandsters!

    relationship changes

    Hey OP: Ok lemme tell you my story, I have been with my ..um..well We will just refer to him as "b" for the last 8 years (almost 9) I got with "b" when i was 17 (i am 25 now)and both of us were overweight and during that the last few years of our realtionship we had some really hard times (meaning i got onto workers comp due to a robbery in 07 and i got PTSD really bad and it got to the point where i couldnt drive anymore so i had to depend on him) Recently in July of 2009 i started to get better really quickly and i decided to make the change and lose weight. I lost 80 lbs pre op and then decided to get the surgery and "b" didnt care.. NO support from him whatsoever told me i didnt need it when i felt like I did,so i went ahead and got the surgery family and friends supported me through the whole time, where he did not ..didnt come to any of the classes NOTHING.. hell i even play xbox online and those people called to check on me on my surgery date when he couldnt even visit me in the hospital. Oh yeah .. and then he critizes me about my small portions, the way i eat, no drinking with meals .. pretty much anything doing with this surgery. *Sorry when i start talking about it i get upset* Back to what i was saying... Since my surgery on dec 23rd 09 our realtionship has gone even more downhill.. once i get my settlement money from workers comp i am out of here and getting my own place. THANK GOD FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO GET ME THROUGH THIS!

So i recently went back to working out hard core(hard core meaning 3 miles a day and other various weight training exercises) after taking a month off after my surgery (December 23rd, Started working out arround January 22nd) and then i plateau'd so i decided to log my calories and figured out i wasnt getting enough, maxing out at like 700 and that was on a good day. So now im getting like 900-1000 a day and im still not losing anything!!!!! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG !!!!:thumbup::mad::smile2::mad::w00t::mad: Could it be because im regaining back my muscle that i lost on the month I took off ? Im so confused!!!! PLEASE BANDSTERS HELP MEE!!!!! BTW: I get ATLEAST 60 grams of Protein a day and I drink 64 oz of Water each day. I get a fill on the 5th so maybe that might jump start it. Heres another question, When you guys get fills and are on the 2 days of liquid,then 2 days of soft foods.. and then so on do you guys still work out ? Do you think i should work out?

    Beans & salad

    ok this is wierd but i cant eat refried beans but i can eat bean soup.. dunno why just is maybe it just is to much for my little pouch ..havent tried salad .. i miss it though =/
  6. Ok quick recap: I was banded on Dec 23rd 2009 I lost 80 lbs preop and 30 post op. I eat 60-70 grams of Protein a day if not more and atleast 64 oz of Water a day also and my portion sizes are roughly 4-6 oz 3x a day(im eating at 4 hour intervals if not longer and im staying full). I also run atleast 2 miles and do weight training as well 6 days a week. BTW i havent had a fill yet. Heres my problem: my calories are only adding up to like 700 calories on a good day. The people on LBT and my doctor said i should up my calories but i just dont know how.. Do i eat more meals? do i drink more stuff that has calories? and because of this problem im not shedding any weight whatso ever. Please help!!!! and if you can post what you guys eat when your plateau-ing that would be amazing. THANKS!!!

    I lost 80 before surgery(from july to decemeber)... I was at 1000 calories a day and running 3-4 miles a day and doing alot of muscle training =]
  8. I measure out that im roughly getting 700 calories a day and roughly 60-70 grams of Protein a day if not more.. Is that enough for me to survive on? and my meal sizes are roughly 4-6 oz. (3 meals a day every 4 hours or so) I do work out alot, every day ( 2 miles atleast a day) plus other light muscle training since i got banded on Dec 23rd and i dont wanna faint at the gym cause im not getting enough calories n so on.:confused::confused::smile2: Also .. is some caffeine okay ? like once in a blue moon ? i ran out of coffee today and all thats heres is regular.

    Hey football junky!!! Yup..its time for you to get on the wagon !! what i would do is slowly increase the distance of your running like once every week and picture your old coach,wife/girlfriend and kids in your head motivating you to do more. You really wanna let them down ?! They need to you!!! As far as the burger king goes.. its all in your head and i have faith in you that you can get through it, when ever you crave foods like that go walking or running..just do something to get your mind off of it. If other people in your family are eating that stuff infront of you picture that same hamburger with maggots and nasty stuff all over it.. takes a few to get used to it and work but it does like humming bird says: get a fill.. then go on liquids for a few days.. then mushies .. then so on. Sorry for being so blunt but i feel like it was in order :confused:

    Protein Bars

    Hey Bandsters! I was wondering if you knew of any Protein bars (that taste good) that are lapband friendly ( im going on a airplane and i need Snacks,damn layovers). I dont know if this makes a difference but i was recently banded on Dec 23rd so im a little concerned about the consistancy on the Protein Bar it self. Thanks

Before I had my surgery i was very active (running atleast 3 miles a day, weight lifting..ect) then I had my lapband surgery and i cant even walk arround my block and when i come home from walking such a shirt distance i need to take a 3 hour nap. I have no idea whats going on, is it because of the surgery and my body still healing?, has anyone else felt like this ? BTW: i had my surgery on december 23rd 2009
  14. Hey bandsters! Im going to be visiting my friend and the plane ride is 6 hours long (from Cali to Florida) and im going to need to bring food with me. Do you guys have any good ideas on what i should bring? Does the airport sell yogurt and other "lapband friendly" items? I haven't flown in years. Please help :thumbup:

    Thank you for your responses! I tried the refried Beans (not from taco bell but from trader joes) and i was in so much pain afterwards so i think i might hold off on that one. Im just so scared ill stretch out my new little stomach/pouch. BTW i dont get my first fill until Feb 5th, it seems like so far away!
  16. Ok my Dr said to eat 4 to 6 oz of food every 4 hours,3 meals a day and when im done eating im full but after my last meal roughly 5 hours later i get hungry again. How do you guys cope with this? im keeping up with my fluids (not drinking till an hour later) 64 oz to try to keep me full more but its not working. Do you guys eat like mini Snacks? (low calorie low fat of course) HELP ME!

    Tracey, Try them .. just rinse them under HOT Water for like 3 mins in a spagetti strainer. ok the texture is a little wierd too but it tricks your mind into thinking your eating noodles =D

    i got banded on the 12-23 and i have no energy whatso ever and i constantly take naps (i keep up on eating and my fluids too) hopefully this wont happen to you but i just thought i would give you a heads up

    I never heard of them .. one thing i do use though is tofu noodles AKA shirataki, they are very good but they require alot of rinsing and i think a whole package has 40 calories in it.

    Best Mushies and Soft Foods

    Well im a big fan of mashed potatoes but im a lil scared to try starches so i went on the cooking portion of this webpage and found this recipe "Kate's Cauliflower will satisfy the craving for mashed potatoes - and it's healthy. Take a large head of cauliflower, steamed soft. ((Nat's note: I will probably steam it in FF chicken broth to infuse a bit more flavor)) Mash with 1 ounce low fat cream cheese, 1/4 cup low fat sour cream, 1/4 cup parmesan cheese and 1 to 2 tablespoons of Smart Balance (a healthy butter-like spread made of vegetable oils). Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste." and i dont know if you like tuna but its a great way to get some Protein in ya. Tuna Avacado salad 1 can of tuna 1 avacado Lowfat Mayo Jane's Mixed up Salts Garlic powder

Hey lapbanders, I got banded on 12/23 and im still very swollen and my dr told me that i should be back to normal in 6 weeks, but me being very impatient (I just found out i can fit into a size 16 but the only thing thats holding me back is my stomach) is there anything else i can do to kind of rush the process? thanks in advance =]
