  1. Happy 42nd Birthday xayia!

  2. I had my band removed in dec 09. I had problems with gas, vomiting, 'stuck food", chronic diarrhea, etc. from 6 hours out of being banded. They were never able to find a cause, although my primary doctor said i had all the symptoms of gall bladder issues. My surgeon/aftercare facility always made me feel that these problems were my fault, they told me i must have had these issues before surgery. I was never able to tolerate fills. Its been almost 6 months and i still have the gas and diarrhea. I have searched the internet in hops that someone else had these symptoms and could offer me some answers about how to get these things stopped. I feel like my life is out of control. I have days were i'm cleaning myself 7-8 times...sometimes more. Sometimes i don't know that I have stool on my bottom until I feel the burning and it bleeds from the irritation. Surely i would remeber if i had these problems before banding-its not something I would forget. I can only find the successful, happy stories of lap band success. Once i found a post from a woman in Austrailia that was having the diarrhea every day. i hope i'm not the only person in the US with these issues? :w00t:

    Hate the Band!

I hated mine, too. I was banded in oct 09. I felt great...until 3 hours after surgery. I threw up for the next week. I couldn't keep anything down-not even Water. I went to the ER 5 times in 3 days. They removed all the Fluid and I left it that way for 3 months. I was never able to tolerate food well. everything I ate got "stuck". I had a 10cc band and never got past 4cc of fluid( that was only because I was determined to accomplish something). I never had a solid bowel movement. I was so depressed and felt like I failed-again. During my after care appointments, they all asked if I was eating too fast, taking to big of bites, eating meat too dry, etc. . I had an EGD. I was depressed becaused the only weight I lost was 15 pounds the first week and then 20 pounds over the last few months of being sick and all the tests. I was told my band was in the corrrect place, was not blocked, it just didnt work for me. My GI doctor recommened I have it removed. i was developing scarring for all the acid from my food not moving properly. I was de-banded today.
