  1. Christie-- Love your letter to Steve. He is so passive aggressive. Dottie-- I am so glad your back! Don't worry about your weight loss break, those regain pounds are fresh and easy to get rid of. Stacie-- Here is what you do, decide you defiantly don't want kids, make a huge time commitment to school that it will be hard to break from, and you will be pregnant immediately, works every time. I couldn't get pregnant and when I finally did, with twins, lost them in the 4th month, had severe internal trauma, so the Dr told me "You will never get pregnant again" so after I was healed I bought a flower shop that was in serious financial trouble and I knew I was going to have to work like a dog to get it on track, then I got pregnant 2 weeks later.
  2. Congratulations! And we are always interested in your success.:blushing:

Is this the same shirt? Look how much extra room in the sleeve and it doesn't even touch your belly anymore!
  4. The good news about those hungry days is they usually only last 1 day. I hope you feel better today. I haven't seen anything from Astra's either. :blushing: My birthday is on the 19th and we will be running at 1:30. I am getting nervous, I hope I can do it..

    Day 22 of 27

It was overcast this morning so even though it was only 77 degrees it was 96% humidity. The last couple of days I almost wish summer was back, at least the sweat would evaporate and cool you off some. Here is what I was suppose to do: 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 5 reps of push ups and sit ups, with a 2 minute run/walk with a purpose between each round. Here is what I did: Slept too long to ride my bike to the park, sat around drinking coffee until I had to go and then did my workout in the yard instead of the park. Lazy, Lazy, Lazy 105 push ups 105 sit ups 12 min running 1.03 miles The push ups and sit ups are actually getting easy. (I cant believe I am saying that!) So I am going to start doing at least some of the push ups on my feet instead of on my knees. I am also going to start really trying to run faster on these short runs. I think I have been kind of dawdling and not pushing myself to max potential. That is the draw back to working out by yourself, however, I have such an aversion to being bossed around that I don't do well with others. So I am going to start pushing myself more.
  6. Adkins diet, no exercise, 139 pounds, size 10, quick regain Band diet, exercise 3X a week, 135 pounds, size 4, regain unknown.

WOW someone erased it. I will send a PM to the lady who created it and see if there is a way to salvage it.

    Please help!

I became lactose intolerant right after my surgery. I changed to lactose free milk to mix my drinks and I was much better.

    Reached your personal goal???

Lizzy, I am glad to see your post. I have reached my personal size goal even though I am still 2 pounds from my stated weight goal. I think I look good in my clothes and I am happy with my fitness level as I am starting to run in some organized races and I as seeing muscle tone for the first time in 15 years or so. But I am also having anxiety about being "skinny". I went to my sons football game Friday and people who only see me during football season were calling me over to talk about my weight loss. 3 different people said I didn't need to lose weight and another even told me I should gain it back, that I looked better last year! I am just now in the middle of normal range for BMI, I would need to lose 22 more pounds to be underweight. I had to walk in front of the whole stands to get to where my son sits with the band so I could take some pictures and I felt really self conscious walking across there, and never felt this when I was obese. I am really starting to think obese is the new normal.

    Day 21 of 27

Fall is here. I was able to sit around until 8 am drinking coffee before I went to work out. Usually I have to get out as soon as possible to beat the heat, I wasn't even as sweaty when I was finished. Here is what I was suppose to do: As many rounds as you can do for 30 minutes: 6 minute run/walk with purpose 100 jump ropes 15 push ups 15 sit ups Here is what I did: Rode my bike to the park 1 mile I ran for 24:25 min, 2.03 miles 400 jump ropes 60 push ups 60 sit ups Rode my bike home I was able to do all 4 sets of 15 push ups and push ups without resting in the middle, plus I jumped the first set of 100 jumps without missing and jumping on top of the rope or hitting myself on the feet. That only worked on the first set. Sometimes I wonder if I jump on the rope on purpose so I can rest. Jumping rope is incredibly hard.

    Labor Day Challenge

Stacie-- You did not fail! What actually happened is you set your goal 2 pounds too much, as in "shoot for the moon, if you miss you will still be among the stars". I am proud of you. As a matter of fact, I am proud of everyone who stayed with our challenge for the whole 9 weeks. 9 weeks is a long time, I remember dieting before the band and I never made it 9 weeks. Especially during the summer! I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me stay motivated during the 4th of July and Labor Day challenges. I couldn't have done it without y'all. I "officially" have 2 pounds till goal weight but I am at my goal size so I have stopped trying to lose and I am now trying to find a place where my weight is stable for the first time in 17 years! Thank y'all from the bottom of my heart.
  12. Not only have I given away my fat clothes, I have given away my skinny clothes too. You know, the ones I held onto because one day I might get thin enough to wear them again. Well they are too big now also. Because I am an organized hoarder, I cant just throw things away so I sorted it into sizes and found someone who could wear each size to give them to. I took some to a consignment shop but I found that I took more pleasure in giving them away to be enjoyed by someone else than I did in selling them.

    Sweets....ever okay?

I have something sweet every Sunday. Ice cream, cup cake, homemade Cookies. I make sure it is the best quality and I enjoy every bite but I make sure that it is single serving so its not hanging around on Monday! And I have alcohol on Fridays too...
  14. Your having surgery on my first bandiversary! I think I will adopt you,. Congratulations on getting your date! Don't worry about the 2 week diet you can do it, just take it one day at a time. When I had to do it I told myself, "I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow but I know I can do this today" and my old time favorite "One more day down only __ to go, you can do it!" Silly but it works. I used the CIB shakes too. The milk has plenty of sugar to keep your blood sugar from plummeting. If you are a heavy carb addict you might want to go low carb for a week or so before you start the shakes so you wont have carb withdrawals at the same time you are starting the shakes. I promise your Dr would not prescribe this diet if it were unsafe in any manner, he would be liable. If you think you have selected a good Dr please do as he asks to have the best chance of a successful surgery. If you don't feel you can do as he asks, talk to him about doing something different, this is about your health. P.S. Crash dieting:lol::scared2:!

    Waiting for Approval

Oh look at those sweet babies. I'm sorry for the loss of your Jeffrey. I bet Lucian will be a wonderful new addition, he may seem timid but I have been around Germans before, they are so loyal. Once you are his person he will do anything for you.

the emotional part after the banding

Don't worry, your just mourning your loss of your old lifestyle, it will pass. Once you start seeing results, this feeling will diminish. And you will eat again! I actually feel I can eat more, not more food but more choices. Before the band, when I went to a restaurant, I was limited on the menu to things that were large portions because I didn't want to be hungry when I was finished. Now I can order anything on the menu and be happy with it. I am through trying to lose weight so my band is semi-loose and I have not found anything I cant eat if I take my time and chew properly, but even when it was tighter, I could still eat everything except bread and bananas. It will get better, I promise and shortly you will be the one telling your family, I told you so!

    Gahhhhh

Any time my weight changes upward on the scale less than 3 pounds I just tell myself "That is just Water weight" and go on. Salt, extra exercise, time of month, sickness, all cause water retention. If you are eating 1000 calories a day it is physically impossible to gain 2.8 pounds of fat in a week, you would have to eat 9800 calories more than you burned, and you only ate 7700 calories so its mathematically impossible. Dismiss it and go on. The good news is when I gain a couple pounds of water weight, when it went away it usually took a couple of pounds with it, kind of a cell flushing thing. I hope it works like that for you too.

    In need of support

Never avoid (or never have) a life changing surgery based on what a boyfriend, husband, significant other, friend or family member thinks you should do. Listen to their advice, consider all the options, and then make a decision based on the facts you have collected. You should do what you think is best for you. Period. You only get one shot at this life and you don't want to turn 40, 50 or 60 thinking what if. I am not saying you should get the band, I am saying you should make an informed decision for yourself.
  20. 6 kilos! Boy, you are ambitious. I like the fact that you tried. I am signing up to run a "jailbreak" on my 41st birthday later this month with my son and his girlfriend. Here is the link if you haven't seen a jailbreak course before. Home | Run the Jailbreak Dash | Race in Dallas / Fort Worth Texas And then on 10/10/10 I am going to participate in a half marathon, so I better get busy with my training. I have been lazy lately and only been working out 2 days a week instead of 3.

    Day 20 of 27

I was suppose to work out on Tuesday but I pushed it to Wednesday. It was only 77 degrees but the humidity was 95%! Come on fall! Here is what I was suppose to do: As many rounds as you can do for 30 minutes: 8 minute run/walk with purpose 15 body rows 15 tuck jumps 5 plank holds for :45 seconds 30 squats Here is what I did: Rode my bike to the park 1.49 miles I ran 17:31 min for 1.47 miles 30 body rows 30 tuck jumps 10 :20 sec plank holds (huge improvement from my :05 max hold time at first) 60 squats And then rode home.
  22. Your mourning the loss of your previous lifestyle. Even though you gave it up voluntarily, you still have to readjust your brain. Change is scary. Don't worry, soon you will feel physically better too, the toxins from bad foods will leave your body, your new foods will start nourishing your body in a way that hasn't happened for a long time, exercise will be helping flush bad stuff out and you will feel lighter, fresher and younger than you have in years. Then you wont even remember this period of doubt. It gets better I promise. Your never alone, there are thousands of people who are going through or have gone through the same things here, no matter what you post, someone else has done it, ate it, or PB'd it.
  23. Good morning everyone. Denise-- HOLY CRAP on the dentist! Boy do I hate to spend money that way. Stacie-- I am having a hard time feeling sorry for you in the boob department. You get to be skinny and still have big boobs, sheesh! Crystl-- You havent given us an update on how your doing lately. (Or if you did I missed it) Betsy-- Thinking about you. I have some strange things going on in my life. Someone has been getting in my office at night and taking petty cash. My husband and I are the only people with keys other than the landlord, who said they changed the locks before they rented us the building. So I installed a security camera yesterday and we will know soon. Maybe I am sleepwalking. My husband called me a couple of days ago and I could tell he was excited. So he tells me he found an old memory card and there is a picture of me on it. Then he tells me "And you were FAT!" so I was like "um, yeah" then he told me something I thought was really sweet. "I didnt know you were fat! I knew you were a little overweight but I didnt realize you were fat!" We met in 2001 and he had never seen me when I was thin. I guess love is really blind. Here is my new found fat pic with my son and one of us that is a few months old, he has changed some too.

    The Wagon...

Do you mean a 1/2 a cup of food is your whole meal? If so that is probably the problem. If you eat 1/2 cup at Breakfast and 1/2 cup at lunch you are overeating at night because you are starving. If I don't eat enough during the day it leads to overeating at night. Once I get too hungry, I am hungry for the rest of the day. When I was in the losing stage I ate 2-4 oz of meat (by weight on the scales) 1/2 cup of veggies and 1/4 cup of starch at each meal. Keeping each meal around 250-300 calories. As an example, lunch 2oz of fish, 1/2 cup green Beans, and 1/4 cup mashed potatoes.
  25. I decided to stop losing and I had a .2 cc unfill. Then I lost 2 more pounds so I have upped my calories, I included a cup of 2% milk each day, and changed my portion size from 1/4 cup of complex carb to 1/2 cup and increased my meat portion from 2 oz to 4 oz and I have stayed at the same weight for 2 weeks. I also have a glass of wine on Friday and a serving of ice cream or something similar on Sunday.
