Fell off.......
LeighaMason replied to outside*looking*in's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last night my husband and I went out on a date, we went out to eat, I had 2 glasses of wine and Andy's frozen custard! Ha Ha to my band. But today I will go back to doing what I am suppose to, and everything will be fine. We didn't get fat by having 1 day of eating too much, as long as we go back to doing what we are suppose to and don't do it too often it will be fine. And by the way it sounds like you don't have good restriction yet if you can eat a bagel. So don't worry it will get better. -
Have you considered making a deal with yourself? I like to have a glass of wine in the evening. If I did what I was suppose to during the day, I get to have a glass of wine. So, I have a set amount of calories, exercise, and nutrients for the day. If I did everything I was suppose to I can have a 5 oz of wine, if not sorry. You could package your chocolates into daily portions (100-150 calories or so) and if you follow your plan then you get a chocolate reward, if not you do without. Are you journaling your food? Like on a computer program that tallies your calories and nutrients automatically?

Easter Challenge Anyone?
LeighaMason replied to mrsgriffin2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I waited 10 days, everything I ate was getting stuck, plus it took me an hour to finish a protein shake, I was only able to get 500 calories a day max. Then it started to get worse (due to swelling and throwing up) and on the day before my unfil I could barely Drink 2 protein shakes. I live 2 hours from my dr as well. So I finally went back and she took out .3 and I felt much better. The fill that caused the problem was .7, I am a little loose now but a little loose is way better than a little tight. On the day of my unfill I forced down a shake, it took about an hour and then I drove to Dallas, (2 hours), then waited for 30 min (I was early) and still my stomach was just gurgling continuously. When she took out the fluid, she told me to stand up so I could drink some water and I felt the protein shake leave my stomach, that was 11:30 and I had finished it at 8. So if a protein shake stays in your stomach for 3.5 hours that is too tight. I gurgled non stop during this time, I always gurgle some but my husband couldn't sleep because when I laid down my stomach made so much noise. I hope this helps.. -

Unjury Chicken Soup flavor, 1 scoop to 8 oz water, 21g protein, tastes just like chicken noodle soup to me. Plus its warm which I do much better than cold. -

Good morning everyone! Its Friday! I am actually going to eat lunch with a friend who I talk to regularly on the phone and by text but I haven't seen in 2 months or so, she has been on WW and we have lost about the same amount of weight, I am really excited to see her. Denise, How is your MIL? I hope she is doing well. Please no schooling on your boss, last time I tried that I got fired. But in retrospect I am really happy that happened so maybe you should go ahead.... Jen--How's the PT going? IL--I am so glad to hear you are at your perfect spot. I hope you get your glasses soon. Betsy-- Congrats on your 2nd fill, that when things really took off for me. Liz-- My 15 year old son has a new girlfriend, she is 16 and has a car! :w00t: I wish he would go back to just the phone! Bob-- Pledge drive, :smile2: I am still laughing about that one. Glad you feel better, a little sleep is a great thing. Have a great day everyone. -
Here is what confuses me on the whole "democrats are brainwashed" theory, I hear democrats talk and I read what they write but it all has a different feel. When a republican speaks or writes I see the same catch phrases over and over, i.e. "swiftboating", "socialized medicine", etc. its like everything they say was a cut and paste from fox news. The other day I was having drinks with my friends (all republicans besides me) and some guy who was there started in on "socialized medicine" so I said "You know I can't remember the definition of socialism, can you tell me what it is?" He got mad and left because he only knew he was suppose to be against it, he didn't know what is was. Nobody at the table could give the accurate description of what it was, every body there described communism. And by the way these are all educated people.

question about calorie restrictive only methods like lap band
LeighaMason replied to cduval04's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I look at the calorie restriction part as a by-product of the band, the band is more of a portion control product to me. You can eat just as many calories as before if you choose to eat the wrong foods or to graze continuously. In portion control what I mean is I can eat a small meal then I feel full and I don't get hungry for 3-5 hours depending on what I ate, what I am doing, etc. In the past when I was doing either portion control or calorie restrictive diets I was HUNGRY! the whole time, that is what kept me from keeping the weight off, sooner or later I couldn't stand the HUNGRY! feeling anymore. I have good restriction with my band and now I feel hungry and need to eat something but not "HUNGRY!" unless I wait too long to eat and then I occasionally get that feeling. But before I was banded I lived with HUNGRY! 24-7. I was HUNGRY! an hour after I ate. This is what gives me the belief that I will not regain my weight, I never have to go back to being HUNGRY! again. I think your chances of success are more tied to your eating habits than anything. Will you be willing to eat 3 small meals a day with 2 small Snacks instead of grazing constantly? Will you be willing to make the choice to eat quality food instead of junk food? Will you give up sodas? I believe these are the questions that will mean more to your success. But I would like to offer you my admiration that you are taking this so seriously, I think that also helps with your success. Being willing to walk away if you are not willing to follow the "rules" is a very mature stance. I am impressed. -
I need some helpful advice...
LeighaMason replied to Kirby123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you journaling your eating? Not just writing it down but putting it in a system that automatically counts calories, proteins, etc.? For instance, I use lose it! on my iphone but there are others. -
Happy Bandiversary to Me!

Your post made my day. Congratulations on your journey. -
I'm somewhat concerned.
LeighaMason replied to Psycloberry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel bad about my previous post, I don't want you to think I was being flip, I understand your concerns. If the band worked on its own it wouldn't even have the port, the band makers would save the money on production costs. Please don't get discouraged. After my first fill I started losing but after my second I really got with it and have been losing 2 pounds a week on average. My fill nurse said wait 3 weeks between fills to let the swelling go down before getting another fill. Just use this time to work on eating good quality foods in small portions, even if you have to eat 5 times a day until you get some restriction. If you follow through with your fill schedule and your after care you will do well. And my favorite advice, journal everything. If you put it in your mouth write it down. -
Your reference site has the number different at well. OpenCongress is a free and open-source joint project of two non-profit organizations, the Participatory Politics Foundation and the Sunlight Foundation. I am using the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives web site for the offical count.

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2010/roll082.xml Here is the official count. I am pretty sure that under Column Nays and under the row for Republican that number is 145.

Why do sweets go down so easy?
LeighaMason replied to 2bhealthyn40s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's because they are sent from the devil. -
Yeah, shame on you Cleo's mom, ONLY 145 voted no, ONLY 145 Republicans couldn't bring themselves to agree that children in school shouldn't be tied up, drugged, or isolated in order to discipline them.
