I have a new health care plan, as I have stated earlier, when I left my corporate job (escaped my indentured servant status) I had to pass on the $1000 a month cobra insurance, so I don't have health insurance. Because of the new debt in starting my business I needed more life insurance. So I applied and they sent a nurse to my house to take blood, urine, blood pressure etc. A full health screen and a house call to boot! So every year I am just going to apply for a new life insurance policy.

Once more for fear mongering, Fishing ban not likely, but anglers worry Copyright 2010 KLTV. All rights reserved. TYLER, TEXAS (KLTV) - Fishing anglers across the country were reeled in by a big story on Tuesday. An espn.com article claimed that the Obama administration could prohibit anglers from fishing in waters across the country. Today, ESPN's Outdoor Executive Editor apologized for how the story was presented, saying the article was actually a commentary. While it's not accurate to report the Obama administration is going to stop recreational fishing like this, it is true that the President has appointed an Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force. The task force is responsible for developing a national policy and strategy to conserve and manage our oceans, coasts and Great lakes. With the task force in place, thousands of anglers are not happy because they have been kept out of the loop. They fear there could be future fishing restrictions. Though no new changes are on the books, East Texan and Lake Fork guide Lance Vick says fellow anglers should be worried. "We do need to investigate this as anglers," said Vick. "Is there a fire where the smoke is? Are we going to wake up one day and they're going to have a bill in the house where they're going to limit inland fisheries. I don't think we need more policies. We have governing agencies to manage our resources as it is, and it's working." The most recent report released by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said that salt water angling generated 82 billion dollars in sales in the United States. So here is how "reporting" in done in East Texas, first they state a fishing ban is "not likely, but" then they have someone else a "professional" state that you should worry. This gets them in the clear. "We didn't say you should worry the fishing guide did". And why are they talking to a recreational freshwater bass fisherman when this is a policy for commercial saltwater fisherman. Scare tactic all the way...

Betsy, Thanks so much for the advice, last week I was doing the same workout each day, (I had heard that you should rest between but I discounted it), then my husband (who is the one who points out things I don't want to hear) told me to follow the rules and on Monday of this week I changed to Upper body M,W,F and legs Tu & Th. But because I changed my routine I am sore today so I think I am going to skip today anyway. I had no idea about the fluid in your muscles thing, that helps ease my mind. You give the best advice! -

Please don't take my "10 day plateau" as I am not losing weight, I only have 24 pounds left to go and I think I am just slowing down from 2 pounds a week to probably 1. Plus like my husband told me yesterday, What if you only lost 1 pound a month? You would still be where you want to be in 2 years. In reality I would be happy if I stayed right where I am, I am just spoiled by the band. I have not been this thin in 10 years. The band is hard work, but it is effective hard work. The difference is going to be time, I could put less work into what I am doing and still lose weight, it would just take longer and that just isn't in my personality. I think there are generally 3 type of people with a band, 1) Those who just eat smaller portions and don't journal and exercise, who are perfectly happy losing 20-30 pounds a year because they recognize the fact that that is how much effort they put in and it is a good balance for them. 2) Those who journal, exercise and eat correctly in a diligent manner and lose 50 -100 pounds a year, they are happy because the are rewarded for their hard work. 3) Those few who continue to eat the same bad type foods, don't journal, exercise sporadically and are unhappy because the expect to lose 100 pounds a year and they don't because they don't put 100 pounds a year worth of work into it. (Of course these are generalities and age, sex, body type, etc. can increase or decrease weight loss) But in my opinion, if you don't have any medical issues with the band, you get out of it what you put in it. By the way, I was self pay, I have $10k riding on this, I use that as motivation as well. The band is not for everyone, you have to decide on a personal level if you can work with it. Ask questions, think about the answers and then decide. Good luck. -

Warm liquids, i.e. chicken broth help me with swelling, you might need to go with that for a couple of days. -

I use Loseit! and last week my net was an average of 798 after exercise calories. Yesterday was 527 net, and today I am up to 433 because I was hungry so I had an unplanned snack of a can of sardines and 6 crackers. This is what started me thinking I was too low because I was hungry. -

OK I am on a 10 day plateau and I can't decide what to do. I started working out 3 weeks ago, I am lifting weights for an hour, 5 days a week, then either walking on the treadmill or riding the stationary bike for an hour the other 2 days. (I have my weights at work and I go to the gym on the weekends for the bike/treadmill.) I am eating 700-900 calories a day (other than, I had 3 days in a row last week where I ate 1114, 1042, and 1260). My protein averages 60-90 g a day. So here is my dilemma, now that I am working out should I eat more? Or am I really losing weight but it doesn't seem like it since I am gaining muscle, and I should keep doing the same and wait it out? (I can see a difference in muscle tone) Or did those 3 days really set me back and I should be patient? Your opinions please. -
I can see how it changes a person.....

Good for you, you should always be true to yourself and your dreams no matter what size you are, I am glad that you are realizing what your desires are. -
My MIL (great lady she is) says that when we start feeling like this we should give ourself a day or so and have a pity party, then its back to positive. During your pity party you can lay around, b*tch about stuff, cry about how unfair everything is and then 24 hours later, its over back to positive statements and positive actions! This really works for me. Good luck, and ignore the scale, they are sent from the devil.
