I didn't see where the OP asked if these were bad food choices. I am pretty sure she knows what kind of food choices they were without someone pointing it out. How we chose to use our band is our choice, nobody on this site needs the food police. Bobbie, I have never heard of that! Maybe the sweetness triggered the full response? Maybe Betsy will know.

I can give you my opinion but I need to ask a couple of questions first. What do you (mostly)eat now? Do you eat restaurant or fast food on a daily basis? How often do you cook? Are you a big sweet eater?

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
LeighaMason replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Karen--Are you waiting to eat until you get hungry? Today I ate breakfast as usual about 10 am and then I got busy at work and I couldn't eat until after 2, now I have triggered the hungry monster and he will be with me the rest of the day. If I eat when I first feel the "need to eat" then I am fine but if I wait until I am HUNGRY! then I am ravenous the rest of the day, I know when I get home tonight I will either 1. overeat and still be hungry or 2. eat the right amount and be hungry the rest of the night. I was not prepared with my snacks and now I will pay for it tonight. It might just be me but it might help you, just a thought.... -

Bob--I am with you one the yucky projectile vomit thing, that happened to me, I was going to pick up a car at the auction and they have a van that they drive you to find the car that you are there to get, so I am in this van with 5 old men having a slime/stuck thing going on and trying my best not to puke in front of them. I thought I was going to pass out. Finally we got to the car I was going to get and I opened the door and projectile vomited slime/foam in front of all of them, of course then we had to go through the whole explanation of why I was sick and I finally got them reassured that I was going to live. I could have just died of embarrassment, I think the only thing that could have made that worse was if it happened in a restaurant. My husband, Rob, just washed my motorcycle for me, its beautiful here today and I am going to take a ride when I get off work. I finally got my inspection (OK Rob went and did that too) and tags, so no excuses. I had him take a picture. Karen--I am 152, again. I would like to be less but I really don't deserve to have lost any weight last week, I barely exercised, drank wine, etc. So no gripping allowed without full effort. I hope everyone has a great weekend. :tt1: -
Let's have our own unofficial poll.
LeighaMason replied to BJean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
- In a small business "bonus" move, small businesses offering coverage to employees will be able to collect tax credits of as much as 50% of premium costs. So if you set up the plan as 50% employee paid and you get tax credits of 50% of premium cost the plan will be cost neutral. -

LeighaMason replied to BJean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Does anyone know any details about this? The president emphasized that this year, some 4 million small-business owners will be able to get tax credits to help cover the cost of providing health insurance to their employees. I haven't heard any numbers, but I am assuming that if your business margin is small enough that providing health care would put you out of business, you would qualify. But I do not know specifics. -
Who gained weight during the "mushy" stage
LeighaMason replied to LuvinLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained on mushies, once I started getting fills I started losing 2 pounds a week, now as I get closer to goal I am losing .5 to 1 a week. Everything will kick in when you start getting restriction. Be sure and only eat 1 cup of food at a time, so you will be use to it when the fills start. Good luck. -
I have been so involved with health care that I haven't really studied any of the gov. candidates. I need to get started.

Easter Challenge Anyone?
LeighaMason replied to mrsgriffin2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still 152, (this is when the decimal would come in handy but since I haven't been counting half pounds so far, too late to start now). This is the first week since I started getting fills that I haven't lost a pound, but I wasn't that good this week either. So now that I have admitted my failure to lose this week I am now going to go cry like a little girl.........(ok not really) -
Maybe that is what Perry is going to call Texas when he secedes from the US.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
LeighaMason replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Bob, Did you hear that in the Health care bill there is a provision for restaurants to have to post the amount of calories on the menu if they have at least 20 locations? I know we all don't agree on the health care bill but I am happy about being able to make an informed decision when I do go eat out. It sucks to eat out because you just never know what you are getting. Do y'all think its the delayed spring that has us in this doldrum attitude? (Its here at my house too) -
Had my band removed yesterday, after almost 2 years
LeighaMason replied to gigem's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That sucks, I'm sorry this is happening.:Banane20: I would submit the removal cost to the ins. they might reimburse you. Good luck. -
I am not a liberal I am a centrist. I don't want communism any more than I want a totally unregulated market. Any extremism that relies on people doing what is best for the group is doomed for failure. Human greed is too powerful. Just because we want to be able to provide health care to our family and others does not mean we are anit-capitalist. I was basically held hostage (job wise) for years because my son has asthma and I could not buy insurance for him so I was forced to work for a large corporation that provided me the opportunity to buy health care. So as a result, I could not start my new business. This is why (I believe) Republicans are so against health care, they want to keep people from having the liberty to open small businesses that compete with the corporations. When this health care debate started I was very confused on why republicans didn't want the government to provide health care. (I think it is reasonable to say that the people who run the large corporations are mostly republicans.) If there was a government provided health care option corporations could drop the health care benefit and it would save large corporations billions of dollars a year, (offering health care plans is a major business expense for them). So why wouldn't they want that to happen? Because now the quality employees that they have held hostage with health care are free to leave their current employment without jeopardizing the health of their family. Health care reform is about liberty. I don't want government control or corporate control over my health care but if I have to choose one over the other, I am going with the government, at least I can vote them out.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
LeighaMason replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning everyone, well today was my first day back to eating regular food, (I had a fill on Monday), last time I had a fill it just kept getting tighter until I had to have a small unfill. My husband (who keeps me honest with myself) pointed out to me that I started eating regular food the day after my fill last time and that is probably why my stomach got irritated. So this time I am taking it slow, 2 days of liquid and 1 day of mushies. I was concerned that the fill didn't do anything for me but this morning when I cooked my 2 eggs and 1 piece of bacon with a cheese stick I was only able to eat 1 egg and the bacon before I was full. Now I have to throw away the other egg (I have major issues with wasting food) but I can wrap the cheese up and it will keep. So I guess I better just cook less for a few days and go back if I need more. But I am very happy to be full on less food. Oops got to go to work...see y'all later -
How long before you loved your Band?
LeighaMason replied to delopez3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started to love my band when I started getting fills and it made HUNGRY go away (think of the WW commercials). Pre band I was HUNGRY all the time and now "its just time to eat". Its a miracle for me. -
This is the type of irrational reply that makes me unable to take your arguments seriously.

FREAKIN OUT!! Need encouragement...
LeighaMason replied to Journey482's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained weight after surgery and before my first fill! Gained! Then I started getting fills and everything started working like it should. I started losing 2 pounds a week and everything was good. Now that I am closer to goal I am only losing 1 pound a week but I am good with that too. By the way, when I started really restricting my calories to around 600 I quit losing, I raised them to 800-1000 and started losing again. The 800-1000 from the Dr is not a random number, more and you wont lose, less and you will lose slower. Try unjury chicken Soup flavor Protein, it tastes like chicken. No really it tastes like soup base without the salt. I couldn't live without it, I cant stand cold stuff all the time, and I think you might be on something with the Fluid retention in regards to salt. (Don't forget warm or hot tea) -
I wanted to encourage you to keep doing your research and determine if the band is right for you, it might be right for me and wrong for someone else. You should look at the risks and determine if the risks are worth the potential rewards for you personally. For me personally, I wouldn't change a thing.

Hey everybody! Christie, Have fun on your trip! Elfie, I'm so sorry about your friend. I am sending well wishes your way. HB-Sorry to hear you are sick, but 80 pounds way to go! Liz--100! Wow! Betsy--I told my husband your 199-200 story about the scales/photo he was very amused. Bob--You could leave farmville alone long enough to say hi to your friends here! Denise--Glad your back, we can always count on you for a good time. Phdgirl-- My advice start measuring your food and journaling it now, it will pay off later. Sorry if I missed anyone. -

Pearl Harbor was not a terrorist attack, it was an attack from a recognized government of another nation, 9/11 was an attack by a militant group. Same result just not the same thing.

I just take a chewable multivitamin from the store, plus 2 chewable calcium tablets and a melt in your mouth B12. I didn't really start losing until my first fill and then I was losing 2 pounds a week but when I had about 25 to go it slowed down to 1 pound a week.

Stop asking me how much weight I've lost!
LeighaMason replied to tripletmomma2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am going to let you in on a car salesman's best friend, redirection. "So how much do you weigh?" (Or insert any question that you don't want to answer) I'm not sure...oh by the way, did you hear about _____? or I don't know...oh by the way, did you get your hair cut? or I'll have to check on that...oh by the way, didn't your kid learn to _____? Start them talking about themselves and they will forget to question you. -
Down that slippery slope to Depression
LeighaMason replied to serenity55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The only way I have to counteract these type feelings is to take out the fat clothes and the fat pics and do a real time comparison. Side by side, try on the fat clothes, (see how far I have come, I'm doing good, etc) A pep talk is in order, if you have someone who you can count on have them do it, if not do it yourself. I need proof that things are better and the clothes and pics help me. -
I have not had any hair loss, I had my 5 month anniversary last Saturday. I believe if you eat healthy food and take your vitamins it really lessens your chance for hair loss.
