Didn't you say a few days ago that you still owed money on your rental property? If so, based on the argument above, you don't even live by what you are mandating, why should we?

Patty you call him a liar a lot. Can you please expand on this? Not just what you think are lies, but please list the lie he told and then list the truth and where you got the truth from. Thanks.

I'm sorry for what happened on your walk today. Please don't let a few bratty kids derail your plans. You deserve better. One of the great things about the band is you have control over it. You mentioned that you have a magic number of 200. If you want, you can just lose to 200, and then start to maintain your weight. Everyone doesn't have to be BMI 25. Even if you stop losing at 200 it would really help the way you feel health wise and then after you are comfortable there you might choose to lose more. After I was banded I started to think this was going to be another failed diet but then I started getting fills are realized that it physically restricted my eating and I just had to do the mental part it really started working for me. Everyone deserves happiness (Except those kids in the park, they deserve to be slapped on ) Remember, if you are willing to do the work of selecting the right foods, the band is willing to do the work of restricting portions. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.

OK now I know why I can't be a republican, I don't use enough adjectives. I just state my point in simple terms and let that stand.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Good afternoon everybody, Spring is here! How do I know? Because the pine trees are pollinating everything, I left my car parked for 3 days and here is what it looked like when I went to get in it last night. But on a happier note here is my neighbors tulips, he has a huge display that he plants every year. Its just beautiful. I think we are going to have my MIL and the kids at the house for Easter, it is forecast to be 81 and sunny so we are going to use the smoker to make some kind of BBQ we just have to decide what kind. The good news is it is going to rain tomorrow so that will wash most of the pollen away first. My friend brought me some fresh eggs that his chickens laid. I am very excited about having fresh eggs instead of store bought. Anyone have Easter plans? -
Up in the air!

I agree, my old boss use to say "If you keep doing what your doing, your going to keep getting what your getting" So basically if you want something different do something different, or keep doing the same thing and you will keep getting the same thing. And my favorite question: If you could lose the weight and keep it off why haven't you already? (This is the question that made up my mind.) -
You hire new employees and you pay them, then they pay taxes. The more people who are working means more people who are paying money into the system and the less money that is needed to fund those "entitlement" programs you hate so much.
-
Oh and by the way, my ex husbands company will be one of those who will see his cost of doing business go down because he already pays health care for his employees so he will get a 35% subsidy that rises to 50% in 2014. This is a huge amount of money for him and he is now planning on hiring new employees.

I said "So my cell phone bill goes up $5 and I get health care, OK I can live with that." Nobody said I get it free, you added that in, that is what you do. I implied that I get the opportunity to buy it. I will say it again since you obviously missed it, before the new law, NOT EVERYONE WAS ELIGIBLE TO BUY HEALTH CARE THERE WERE PEOPLE WHO COULD NOT BUY IT AT ANY PRICE!

The reason nobody responded to this is because it is misleading, once again the companies are claiming a NON CASH charge, so basically this is removing a deduction from the tax return, so they are having to pay taxes. AT&T said Friday that the charge reflects changes to how Medicare subsidies are taxed. Companies say the health care overhaul will require them to start paying taxes next year on a subsidy they receive for retiree drug coverage. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Thursday that the tax law closed a loophole. Under the 2003 Medicare prescription drug program, companies that provide prescription drug benefits for retirees have been able to receive subsidies covering 28 percent of eligible costs. But they could deduct the entire amount they spent on these drug benefits – including the subsidies – from their taxable income. The new law allows companies to only deduct the 72 percent they spent. So this means in the past they were allowed to deduct more than they spent, on drug benefits.

Pictures, the only way I can see my weight loss is if I take a picture. Find a comparison picture from before, then take a new one in the same position. Then you can really see the difference, you live in that body everyday so the changes are subtle but from the non blinking camera it will really help you see.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
LeighaMason replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swear this band is a pain in the a$$! Just when you think you got it figured out, it changes. I got a fill on March 22nd, did my 2 days liquid, 1 day mushie, start eating regular food and everything is fine, as a matter of fact I start thinking this fill really isn't helping but then for the last 3 days, everything I eat (except yogurt) makes me spit, not really stuck or slime just a lot of saliva. Last night my wise ass husband brings me a plate of dinner and a cup with a paper towel to spit in! (By the way, he might be a wise ass but he is sweet enough to cook dinner and bring me a plate while I relax.) So what about it has anyone else had this spit thing happening? -

I agree , but if I make combo options it gets too confusing, so you have to pick the one that is most like you. -
Eating Questions!!!!
LeighaMason replied to YoungBlackAndBanded's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it does matter what type of eater you are. I know a lady that plays cards with my group of friends, she had lap band surgery a couple of years ago. She has gained a lot of weight since then. (I don't know how much) The reason is she grazes. When we play cards we are there for usually about 10 hours or so, and the place we play serves food, like a food buffet. She will eat no less than 8 to 10 times during that 10 hours, just 1/2 a sandwich, then a bag of chips, a candy bar, a piece of pie, another 1/2 sandwich, etc. It all adds up. She tried to discourage me from having surgery but I knew my problem was Portion Control. I was always hungry, I could eat a full plate of food and still be hungry. I only ate 3 times a day, and I ate good quality food but just way too much. So I think there are 3 basic types of eaters: 1) Portion control eaters. Eat good food but too much at 1 time. 2) Junk food eaters. Eat processed and sugary foods. 3) Grazers. Eat continuously all day just a little at a time. I think that.. Group #1 has the easiest time, because the band stops the overeating once you have restriction and you just keep eating the same foods. Group #2 is usually harder you either have to change to quality foods or some people chose not to change to whole foods and just accept that they will lose slower. Group #3 is the hardest because they have to change or the band wont work at all. I am not saying that if you are in group 2 or 3 you shouldn't get the band, I am just saying you need to be more prepared to have to work harder at it, and if you are not willing to change you might want to reconsider having it done. This is all just my opinion from reading these boards but I hope this helps you make an informed decision. -
Pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how I do it too! I might weigh more than once a day but only the first session in the morning "counts", I get on and off the scale 3 times (I get to use the lowest number), if my weight is up by 3 pounds or less I dismiss it as Water weight (which doesn't count), knowing it will be gone in a day or two. Plus I think this water weight is somehow tied to losing, maybe it flushes out the fat? I usually get to a number, say 155 then I will be that for a day or two, then it goes up a pound or two, then goes down a pound a day for 2 or 3 days in a row and I end up at 154 or 153. Thats how my body does it, I am never the same number 2 days in a row. I hope this helps you feel better. -
I think its a very politically savvy move, the last time I looked at it all of the offshore rigs in existence were committed until 2014. So drilling wont start immediately but Obama gets credit for giving up something that the republicans want. Again being bipartisan even if they aren't.

Just because you didn't get your way and your angry doesn't mean you get to shoot our police officers. ETA: By the way, Democrats are the majority of Americans, thats why we control the house, senate and the white house. Get use to it. -
You might as well remember it like that, you have the rest of history screwed up already.

HB--In 2005 I bought a new house and needed dinning room and office furniture. I went to Ashley's, they were having a 0% sale. I bought the furniture on their credit card. 6 months later I got a notice that they were discontinuing the sale and my new rate was 23.95%, I called them because I didn't have any late payments or reason for the card to go up. They told me it was their option, this is why the law was needed the credit card companies have been tricking people like that for years. Luckily I had the cash to pay it. By the way, they could be BSing you now on why they changed it.

I kind of wonder why I keep doing this.
LeighaMason replied to fakeDIY's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe you need to give yourself permission to maintain at your current weight for a while. I find that I only have a certain amount of mental capacity. Sometimes I have to set one thing aside while I deal with something else. "I just look like I did 70 pounds ago." Now after this statement I think your crazy! 70 POUNDS? Look the same?:frown: Seriously it is time for you to do a reality check. Here are my 2 reality checks that I use. 1) Its picture time. Find a picture of yourself before banding and then sit or stand in that same position with tight fitting clothes on and take a picture then study the differences. You will be amazed. 2) I use a mental image of dog food. You have lost the equivalent of a big 50 pound sack and a medium 20 pound sack. Now imagine taking those 2 bags of dog food and duct taping one of them to your back and one to the front, throw a big shirt over them and then tell me you look the same! The goal of this thing isn't to keep you from eating, its just to help you eat less at a time. Just keep making good food choices, let the band limit the quantity and you will do fine. I recently decided to take a break from the hard core dieting that I have been doing since I got the band. I am not at goal but I am very comfortable with my weight so 2 weeks ago I stopped "The Diet", now I still eat the same foods but I am eating 1200 calories instead of 800 or so. Guess what? I still lost 2 pounds in 12 days. Less than the 2 pounds a week that I was losing when I was on "The Diet" but it really gave me hope that this is maintainable. I would be happy if I just stayed the same! (By the way, I think any 5 pounds range is considered staying the same. ) Good luck.
