Still waiting to hear what type of "work" you do.
-
The very rich or the very poor?
-
The dreaded "Will there be no end?", you are complaining about a regulation that helps you. Why would posting calories be bad? Do the people who make the menu's charge by the number of characters on the page? No, the real problem is if you knew how badly the restaurant business was treating your body you would chose to not eat there. So this regulation forces them to clean up their act, so they will have to serve quality food. Which cost them money. So they sell you on the fact that it is bad.

Patty, I am still waiting for you to tell me where you "work". I have never heard you tell what your job is.

Mother's Day Challenge Anyone?
LeighaMason replied to MommyOf1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seriously you have been here since July of last year and this is your first post! We are glad your here, welcome to the Mothers day challenge. -
Once again, she cant answer your post so she cuts and pastes. Hey Patty, I am wondering, you didn't cut the foster care program. Did you get foster care money for your "adopted kids"?

I'm sorry to have to say this, but when you have a person who has had bariatric surgery, and that person sides with restaurants that don't want to post the calorie counts of the food they serve, I don't think you could have a more clear example of a person who is so indoctrinated that they rant against their own best interest. I would like to thank you for proving my theory.

Our local TV station tells about health department demerits, (for non-advertisers, of course) I have literally ate out 3 times in the last 6 months. Every time I try, I look at the health information on line and end up cooking. No wonder we are a fat nation. The dollar trumps the needs of the people.

Wait a minute, weren't you the one who was crying to the moderators about name calling a few days ago?
-
None like you ETA--I am actually very clean.

Seriously Patty? You have a problem with restaurants having to tell you how many calories are in a meal? I was going to stop at Red Lobster because it is near my business and I hadn't had a chance to pack a lunch. I was going to order the fish and broccoli lunch. I pulled it up on my iphone guess what? It was 900 calories. 900. Baked fish and broccoli. Do you think that I ordered it? No. But how many people look at their phone. But maybe if it is printed on the menu they will figure out a better way to cook a piece of fish and some broccoli that doesn't make it 900 calories. Perfect example of how greed trumps customer. Red lobster will make a simple dish have huge calories just to make a profit and try and trick the public to eat it.

Basic republican strategy # 1 If someone post a question that you can't answer, you should copy and paste so much crap that the question is lost and you don't have to answer it. (Copy and paste crap does not have to mean anything it just has to confuse question asker so that question gets lost in the shuffle.)

Or heart attack, broken bone, stroke, etc.

I can't believe a nutritionist put you on a liquid diet! If that frickin worked we wouldn't go through surgery to put in a band! I think your body got hungry for real food and you started binging. I would start a high Protein, low carb diet and purge the sugar from my system. I would go ahead and clean the pantry of all crap food and have quality food that is available and convenient. If you are full of protein when you have your dinner, ice cream really won't fit. By the way, do you think you might be "testing" your new girlfriend to see if she would still like you when your overweight? I bet she would. Good luck.

I won't lose the weight..
LeighaMason replied to LuvinLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I gained weight before my first fill, I thought I had just paid $10k for a failed diet. But once I started getting fills and eating right I started losing 2 pounds a week and everything was fine, you will do good, just don't get discouraged. -
Patty, Since you waited until late in the day to post your response, you will have to wait until tomorrow for mine. You know I find it odd that someone on a bariatric website calls anyone a "big, fat" anything.

Oh Yea! Doing the HAPPY DANCE!

72 pounds in 14 months, I think you can definitely do it! Congrats on your loss so far. -
Do you believe in a god or gods?
LeighaMason replied to btrieger's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Here is a new one for you..this is the strangest defense of bad behavior I have ever heard. "Pope Benedict XVI's personal preacher on Friday likened accusations against the pope and the Catholic church in the sex abuse scandal to "collective violence" suffered by the Jews." See link to full article below. So the priest molests children, the church covers it up and when the church gets called on the carpet for it, the people who are outraged by this cover up are acting anti-Semitic? What?!? The good news is that the Healthcare bill and the jobs bill will be started by then and the small business owners will see that these things have actually helped them and then more people will know that all the hype that the republicans put out was just lies. Small business owners need to keep in mind they are the biggest threat to large corporations. If the compensation is the same most employees would rather work for a small businesses plus customers would rather do business with them so it is in the large corporations best interest to keep an unlevel playing field in employees recruiting. This is why there was so much scare propaganda that was created about health care and directed at small business owners. Now the truth will come out in the wash....

On Wednesday I read Patty's tirade about the Native Americans to my MIL. When I was finished she looked at me and asked if I really thought I could change the mind of someone like that. I told her no, but I since there are obviously people who read these boards (based on the number of views) who don't feel comfortable enough to join the discussion, I thought a lot of them would read both sides of the debate with open minds and I was really presenting my stance for their benefit not hers. I have been reading a lot lately about what the media is calling the "silent majority" even though the tea baggers are the loudest and get the most coverage, the polls are showing that the silent majority is liking where the country is going and the republicans don't have an advantage at all. As a matter of fact, their media campaign is hurting them more and more as time goes along. I can't wait for the shocked look on their faces when the silent majority does the same thing in November that they have done in the past 2 elections.

Mother's Day Challenge Anyone?
LeighaMason replied to MommyOf1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! I am going to weigh in on Monday the 5th and that will be my starting weight. Then we have 5 weeks, I have been averaging 1.6 pounds a week during the Easter challenge so I will go with 9 pounds (I hope to weigh 149 before Monday and then my goal will be 140) That is less than I have weighed in 16 years! That will be my Happy Mothers day gift to me! -
