Thanks so much for the James 2:26 quote I have looking for that! -
OK, here is a typical republican thing for you, I play cards on Tuesday afternoon with a bunch of guys, most of whom are republicans because they should be, (top 5% tax bracket) so yesterday one of them is sitting there gripping about welfare and how we should just stop all those programs, blah, blah, blah... So I asked him "Aren't most of your rent houses on Section 8?" (Rent is paid directly from HUD to him) You could have heard a pin drop.....then the laughing started. He conceded my point.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Dottie, I have to say this irritates me to no end. Doctors seem to forget that we pay them. I have never been shy about telling a Doctor, I am the customer, I pay you, that makes me the boss. I wouldn't care about "his" statistics at all. If you chose to lose 10 pounds a year for 5 years that is a success. This is your journey, this is your life, just because you hired him to implant a device in your body, I doubt you agreed to give him full control over how you use it, just so that he can have good statistics and sell more. I am going to qualify this with the statement that obviously we don't want to gain 5 pounds on a regular basis, but I really don't think that is what we are discussing here. Don't get discouraged and just get back on track. Hugs. -
How is asking them to substantiate their claims "censorship and suppression"? If you release these negative numbers to the press reporting "huge additional costs" you should be prepared to back those numbers up. You should be happy to show how these "huge additional costs" are affecting your company, unless its just a lie and now you have to say it under oath. Now you got a problem.....

Once again you start you post with an untruth, you chop a sentence just to try and make it say something different. The quote is: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. " Pelosi Remarks at the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties Where are the numbers to support this buyers remorse you speak of? Just another blanket statement repeated off Fox News. Who is this 60+ Association? The AARP has also criticized the 60 Plus Association as being partisan because its issues and causes mirror those of only one of the two major United States parties, the Republicans. A final criticism leveled by the AARP is that because it lists no dues-paying members and receives the majority of its contributions from the pharmaceutical industry, the group is simply a front organization for the pharmaceutical industry. (Wikipedia) So why would I be impressed by what a paid mouthpiece for the pharmaceutical industry says about the health care bill? Its going to cost them money, so they want you to not like it. It takes away their cash cow! Patty, I have a news flash for you, people will lie to make money, therefor it is necessary to think for yourself, when someone says or writes something you should think "Why would they say that?" And if the answer is because they are paid to, maybe you should disregard that statement.

I hate that for you, I hope the cancer can be treated the least invasive way possible. On a lighter note, I did notice that your BMI has entered the normal range! Congratulations. I hope that last 20 just melts away for you.

When I researched it I found they use the older model bands in Mexico, this was 6 months ago but that is what made my mind up to pay the extra, I paid $10,200 in Dallas. I would suggest if you can afford to go local, if all you have is $6200 go to Mexico, that is better than nothing. -
I have noticed a new way that I look at calories. I equate them to money. Before the band, I had a vague idea about needing to eat around 2000 calories a day to maintain my weight but I never really counted them, it was like a checkbook with an unlimited supply of money. Now when I get up in the morning I think about how I have 1200 calories in my "account". If I eat (spend) more than that my account gets overdrawn. I can make a deposit by exercising, if I choose to. Or I can just "live within my means" and choose my food wisely. Obviously the band helps tremendously in this with portion control, but I often look at something and decide it just isn't worth the "cost". Just like if I were shopping, I would never buy something without seeing how much it cost, now I would never eat something without seeing how much it "cost" in calories. So here is my food budget, 250-300 for each of my three meals, and 150-200 for my snacks. If I want to spend more, I have to work harder (exercise) and make more. So keeping a journal of my food is similar to keeping a checkbook journal for me, and equally effective.

Do you believe in a god or gods?

15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. I was low BMI, I got my band 5 months ago and when I lose 1 more pound I will no longer be considered overweight. I have been overweight for 16 years, if I could have fixed it I would have, long before now. I wouldn't trade my band for anything. -

Elfie, I am so jealous of the asparagus. I also wanted to say thanks to whoever it was that mentioned the herb plants being in the front of the house. I wanted to plant some but with the dog in the back yard, well you know. I don't know why the front never occurred to me but that is what I am going to do. The coolest thing happened on my way to work, my neighbor had cleaned out their flower beds and had put these large clumps of day lilies and iris' by the trash! There were 7 clumps of them about 1 foot around so I did what any self respecting hoarder would, I pulled over and put them in my trunk! I bet there are 100 rhizomes in there. I took them home and put them in a plastic tub and watered them so hopefully they will all still be good when I get home. I have a place in my yard under the oak tree that I have sodded twice in the last 4 years and its dead again so I wanted to make a woodland type garden there. Ask and ye shall recieve... -

Once again one personal experience trumps years of scientific research. One doctor tells you something and that becomes gospel. Was he involved with the research that developed DP? I bet not. I bet your husband was asking all these crazy questions and he just agreed with him to get him to go away. By the way, that is what you deserve for doing something without first asking your husband for permission. -

Patty, Once again you copy and paste without revealing source. The prevailing medical professional association-the American Medical Association-debated the subject and rejected the idea that these birth control methods are abortifacients after finding no evidence to support the claim. ("Recent Activities: 2001") My source AMA. -

Have you ever been to a charity event where someone is so busy showing how charitable they are (look how much I give!), but you know this person and you know what a horrible person they are, you know its all for the show, its all an act? I have.
