    My weight loss has slowed:(

Thats 1/2 a pound a week that is gone forever. (I bet the people at work aren't losing a 1/2 pound a week) I always tell my son, Be grateful for whatever you have no matter how small, but with the band its "Be grateful for whatever you have lost no matter how small!"

    Finally :)

You passed your half way point! WTG! I'm so happy for you! Just like riding a bike, down hill is so much easier.
  3. Lee Anne, I really like your outlook.
  4. Katie Congrats on the rings. See you saved money by not sizing them up. Mandze--Welcome. We are glad your here. Crystl--I hope your fill is the one! So last night my husband is cooking dinner, he had cut a whole chicken in half and put it on the grill. So I wondered out there and opened the grill to see this: It is the chicken, with a foil wrapped rock from my pond that is near the grill. However it did turn out like this: So who am I to judge?

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had Indian friends, everyone knows that since you have Indian friends that means you can use demeaning phrases about their race. And yes Patti and Ari when you use words and phrases that are demeaning to someones race, religion, sex, disability or sexual orientation I am going to call you out. Get use to it. Feel free to call that my "game" if you want.
  6. I have always had very fine, thin hair. I cant afford to lose any hair so I made sure that I never missed my protein goal. I get at least 60g a day, everyday and I have not had any hair loss. It may just be coincidence but I am not taking any chances.
  7. I had the same doubts but once I had the band and started getting fills it was like they said "After the band, everything you know about dieting works". I dieted for 16 years, hard. But it never worked because I was always hungry, now I am not. I will pay $10k for that. It was cheaper than my car! As long as you are going to make the changes that are necessary with the band it will be good money spent.

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Why do republicans always laugh when you point out their discriminatory language?

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Standard phrase used by people of Indian/Pakistani descent when you leave their dairy queen/convenience store/days inn/dunkin donuts/taxi.--Urban dictionary. Use this phrase in front of anyone of middle eastern decent and they will let you know it is discriminatory.

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Once again another racist comment from a republican.

Seriously? Patty is the queen of cut and paste. This is just a cut and paste of an email that has been making the rounds forever.

    4th of July Challenge!

Computer gremlins they were just testing us.
  15. So now my BB is calling me a liar! I put in my weight this morning and it recalculated and said "based on measurement" my average calorie intake is 1498 instead of "based on food log" average of 1067. I dont eat anything that isnt weighed or measured. I cook from scratch, mostly on the grill with no oil or fats. If I measure and weigh how could I be off 40%?
  16. My best advice is to follow the diet recommendations of your Dr to the letter. I think this helps your band settle in for the long term. Also don't expect any weight loss that week as your body will be busy healing from surgery. I really wasn't in any pain after the first day or so. Don't worry you will do fine.

    4th of July Challenge!

I lost 1 pound this week, I had tried a different eating plan week before last and had gained 3 pounds! So I lost those 3 plus this 1. For a net result of 1. I'll take it!

Once again Patty only thinks it a good program if her family uses the service. And then there is this jewel: "And how is that working for them?, because all I hear about is how bad it is and how high their taxes are to pay for it." Yeah it must be a real pain to live in one of those countries with such a high standard of living. Lets see, they are better educated than we are, they have better job benefits (hours & vacation), they have better health care, longer life expectancy, lower infant mortality, and lower crime rates. Yep, would really suck to be like them.

    Conservative VS Liberal

I have always wondered, Who declared us right? Just because we think what we do is the best way, don't others have the right to determine how they want to live? Maybe everyone in the world doesn't want a democracy. Why do we feel the need to push ourselves into their lives? (Obvious human injustices excluded, i.e. genocide etc.)
  21. Ron--Didn't you read her profile? She is an elementary teacher, you know they are super-human! Thats how they keep from killing all those kids. Willowcat--Welcome we're glad your here.
  22. Hey Sweetie, Have you looked at your Dr? I did. When I decided to get the surgery I wanted someone who was very skilled because they have the best outcomes. I just looked at your profile and then searched google, aol, msn and yahoo, I couldn't find a negative story about your Dr anywhere! Nothing but rave reviews. From everything listed he is an excellent surgeon! Have you asked him if he has ever had anyone die in a lap band surgery? I bet he hasn't. He is listed with the Center for Excellence. Plus your Mom is encouraging you to have the surgery done. I promise you she is the one person in the world who is most worried about your safety and would never put you at risk. If all you are worried about is the actual surgery, do it. I did find a study on the internet that proves it is more dangerous NOT to have the surgery than it is to have it. If you are worried about the life changes that you have to do after the band then that is something else.
  23. I am like Betsy, my body loses weight between 800-1000 calories a day. I got a body bugg and their computer program wanted me to eat 1250 calories a day, I did for a week and gained 3 pounds. So back down to my usual and I have lost that 3 plus 1. I do eat carbs (in the form of veggies) but just at dinner and 1/4 cup. (No bread, rice or Pasta, mainly because the band wont let me.) I think its a good idea to take the ideas you like from this site and forge your own plan and then start tweaking it from there using your tracking.
  24. I didn't know there were pink Hummingbirds, see you do learn something here everyday! Fancy dress up tea party sounds so fun. I wish my baby still did stuff like that, I guess I am going to have to wait for the next generation. NSV ALERT: I can run 3 min. without stopping. More than once! Its not running a 5K but its a start. When I started this 14 days ago, I could barely run for 60 seconds. We have a 5k "turkey trot" on Thanksgiving day, I am thinking about winning it.
  25. Mark:lol::redface:! "Mark" and I started farming on Farmville on the same day, I have like 30K points he has over 300K. But his farm is full so maybe he will be back soon. And by the way, Elfie is there on FB too. I wish you would join us. You don't have to farm or even be in Elfie's mafia if you don't want to. Betsy--I am with you on the slow loss not adding up like it should, but a 1900 deficit! WOW! That is great. I have been hovering around 900-1200. I did lose 1 pound plus the "3" real or imagined BB ones. I am getting up the courage now to go run the first day on week 3 of C25K. It involves running for 3 min straight. I'm scared. Karen--How was your performance yesterday? Was your sore throat gone? Lets have a BB report! Katie--Glad you feel better, optimism is a great thing, I think attitude is 90% of making the body band work. Annie--I would save the BB for later in your journey. I think it is for really fine tuning the program. Heck, your already getting a head start on me by exercising this early in your process. I was stubborn and didn't start until a couple of months in.
