Home from the hospital this morning.... I did really well and everyone was so nice and made me feel special. Key folks is to get some liquids in ya' for every action there is a reaction and what u want is to BURB and POOT... lol. Talk a bout relief... phew... that was the hardest part and that is what I have heard from others... Weighed in at 207, so lost 16 pounds to surgery day. They asked 15 of me, so I did fine. I was outta' recovery in a record 20 minutes. Nope folks... I don't like to fool around... I want outta' the hospital as soon as possible. So all is well, my family is happy to have me back home and all I have to do is hurry and recover.

Won't DO Aspertame,Splenda, artificial sweeteners....
MePinkie posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have my surgery date set for Dec. 29th and I can't seem to find alternatives to all the artificial sweeteners that pre-op and post-op liquid diets seem to involve. Anyone know of anything I can do to avoid these and still be successful? -
Liquid diet is going fine... I feel like I am going through something similar to 'nesting'... LOL I also thought about focussing on why I over eat and have a problem in the first place. For some reason I feel if I can identify that, my surgery will be even more of a success. I don't hear of too many folks discussing this... we have a problem, though the LAP-BAND® might be something to help us, it too can be sabotaged... so one of my goals is to play Sherlock Holmes and discover this. I can tell you i love food... I eat healthy foods, no fast foods or super processed foods and I don't drink soda, with exception to a finer bottle of root beer maybe once a month.... I just eat too much. AH yes, so much it hurts... why do I do that? I hope to share the answer soon... finding this answer is part of my journey.

Wow! I am so glad to hear u r well... thank u for checking in even though u r still recovering. My date is the 29th and I have already begun the process. I am gonna' go for walks/shuffles after surgery.... when I had my gall bladder removed it really helped me with clearing out and getting some air. Movement, not too much... and air are important. Get well and begin your journey -

dlm94... not sure how good they are, but I found Puritan Vitamins and they have the labels to read online. Multivitamins: ADULT CHEWABLE MULTI-Vitamin Thank you 4 your reply... I am glad I am not the only one concerned with some of the possible effects of some of these sweeteners -

Sometimes there is a comfort in knowing your not alone.... I too will be trying to figure out how my holiday dinner plans at my friends home will make liquid prime rib and that dinner party on December 24th will liquidfy my portion... LOL. My surgery date is December 29th, so let's go ahead and mess up any festivities on New Years too. Really.... I believe my lap band to be the best Christmas gift i will receive (along with the support of my friends & family) and what a great way to start a New Year. Stay focussed.... we'll be okees.... -
