    7 wks pregnant - over 40 Yikes

Congratulations! I'm also pregnant, but I went and had a total unfill two days ago. Of course, I didn't want to, but I was experiencing 'morning sickness' all day, and was gagging and unable to vomit. Once the morning sickness passes, I can get fills during pregnancy (if I want) with a letter from my OBGYN. I haven't been any more hungry than I was with my band filled, which I feel suprised about. What is important to remember is to put your band first, if you are experiencing any gagging or vomiting. There are some pretty scary stories on this board about having slipped bands during pregnancy. Even the thought of having to have surgery again was motivation enough for me! If your not sick and you can get adequate nutrition, just keep trucking along

    trying to conceive with pcos

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS after 1 yr of TTC; in all we tried for 3 years including injectables and clomid, plus daily metformin. I decided to have Lap-band® b/c it was recc by my RE. !!Three months!! later here I am 4 weeks pregnant w/out any medication at all in total, I've lost 50 lbs since my high and about 35 since surgery.
  4. I'm curious as to why your doctor wont give you a fill until you have already lost 50 lbs? I've not heard of that before. Do you know why? I thought the restriction of the fills was what really helped people lose weight?

There's actally a new thread about this on the main page right now. One person suggested to put ice in a cup, and then you can only drnk what melts throughout the meal. I think that would help me greatly, just to be able to have the tactile sensation of holding a cup with the drinking motion.

Tips for not drinking after eating?

Hi my name is Lindsey...and I'm a drinker  I also like the idea of the ice. One of my problems is that I LOVE spicy food, so that makes it more difficult not to drink. Also, I've found that if I stay well hydrated throughout the rest of the day I'm not soo thirsty at meal time. I think prior to the band I was relying on meal time to get in much of my Fluid intake.

    Question for Women ONLY

Actually the same thing happened to me. I was suprised b/c I had just finished my cycle about 3 days pre-op. Sure enough, AF came to visit again about a week after surgery.

    December Delights 2009

Today was my first day back at work (I was banded on the 17th) OUCH!!! I was fine at home, but sitting all day combined with wearing actual clothes NOT INCLUDING ELASTIC  made for one looooooooong day. My problem is that I can't de-code the messages my tummy is sending. One minute I'm dying of starvation, the next I think I might have gas, the next I am full. Any help here?? Please tell me that I wont have a schitzo stomach forever... I had protein drink for breakfast, lots of water througout the day, soup for lunch, and *cheat* some soft scrambled egg for dinner.

I'm no expert here, but I did have my surgery on the same day as you!! I found that the chest discomfort was the residuals of anesthesia in my lungs; I've been breathing deeply lots and using the breathing tool they gave me. I felt short of breath and almost like I was wheezing, especially after sleeping. Hope you feel better soon!

    December Delights 2009

Hello new friends! I was just banded on the17th (I'm on day 3 post op). Today is the first day I have even been able to stay awake for more than 2 hours at at a time! Those painkillers really knock me out. I'm scheduled to go back to work on Monday, and I am wondering if this is such a good idea? I'm not in pain just sitting still, but moving, twisting, etc. causes sharp pain. I'm mostly sitting at my desk all day at work.. How many days did you all take off for work?
