I am getting banded on January 18 and I am on day 5 of my liquid pre-op diet (I have to do it for 4 weeks) and I have to say it's getting better. My nutritionist told me by the 5th day your body will stop asking for food because it knows that it's not going to get any and she was right. I don't have those hunger pains that I had on day 1 and 2. I have to have 4 protein shakes a day that don't go above 250 calories and have at least 20 grams of protein. I can have all the broth soup and SF jello I want. Not to mention water, diet v8 juice and SF drink mixes. I have found some protein shakes that were about 220 calories and 51 grams of protein that weren't too bad. EAS whey powder mixed with milk is actually pretty good. Nobody said this was going to be easy and it's not forever. We will get to eat again, it's just going to be a different way of eating.
