banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Thanks for the tip about the toilet seat cover! I know there wasn't enough time to grab one this last time...but definitly stored in my memory bank!! Bobbi-Good luck on your interview! Everyone sounds like they had a nice Easter. There is candy in my house that def. needs to disappear...not only that the ice cream stand less than a mile down the road is now open . I keep trying and swear I have no will power left . The scale is not moving...and I know I am not going to reach my goal of ONDERLAND by 5/15/10. I still have well 14-17lbs to go (depends on the day lol). I am so mad at myself for not being stronger with my food choices and not exercising more -
Nervous and Excited

I soooo want to do this, but am waiting for my PCP's ok before starting (knee and foot problems and exercise induced asthma). Hopefully when I go on the 22nd I will get the all clear and be on the same track you are! -

I really REALLY need to keep up with this more. It's been like a week and it's taken me like an hour to catch up lol. The weather has been awesome here though so I have been outside . Betsy--thinking about you and Mark Leigha & Karen-Congrats on the 150 & 170! Can't wait to be there myself! Illum.lady-Congrats to your daughter! Bobbie-Sorry to hear bout your job  I know food is how I used to deal with stress too, so now stress seems so much more well....stressful Everyone else--Hi and I really did read everything, but short term memory so please forgive me :bored: Me-Had my 1st public no-no. Went out with friends yesterday and ordered a sandwich. I can still eat bread sometimes and knew I was tempting fate...but did it anyways (dumbass). About 4 bites in I felt the stuck feeling. I waited cause sometimes it passes. I have yet to slime and have only PB'd once (pretzels)...so I'm thinking this isn't gonna be too bad (hahahaha). A few minutes later I was in full sprint to the bathroom--almost didn't make it and yes...I got the lovely splash to the face as well. Wiped myself off and went back to the table...only to find myself sprinting back AGAIN like 5mins later. All I can say was at least it was over quickly. Note to self--if you are gonna eat bread, do it a home. -
I went for my 3rd fill a week ago. Everytime I have gone, they pull out all of my fluid then put it back in along with whatever my fill is going to be. At surgery they put in 2ccs. 1st fill was 1cc for total of 3ccs. 2nd fill another cc for a total of 4cc's. When I went in for my 3rd fill, she only pulled out 3cc's. Where did the other cc go? I was told not to worry, but I am worried! I feel like I can almost eat anything too...not at first, but now a week later I do. Have any of you experienced disappearing fluid and it was normal?

Have any of you tried the couch to 5k program, and if so does it work?? I would LOVE to be able to jog a 5k. I know I need to approach it slowly because I have bad knees (even though I am not even 29) and when I was on my 6mo pre-op diet I was trying some jogging and ended up with 5 stress fractures in my foot and a cast for almost 2 months :cursing:. I know that being able to jog will help so much with the weight loss....just not sure of the best way to approach it. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!!

I can't keep up with y'all! I need to check this more often!! Elfie-Sorry to hear about your friend! I will pray for you and their family. Congrats to everyone on the losses....and BOB--don't sweat the gain. Bandster Hell is well....HELL. It gets better...slowly, but it does. I'm still partially there myself. I can't eat a ton, but it doesn't stick with me for longer than like an hour. We'll get there though. I don't do Farmville...but do any of you do Treasure Madness? That is my new FB addiction lol. Used to be Farmville. -
congrats!!

Thanks everyone for your advice with the couch to 5k! I have another question for y'all....I went for my 3rd fill a week ago. Officially had my 1st PB today. I just had to have that 1 pretzel on my way out the door from work didn't I?? I wasn't even hungry!! That'll teach me (prob not). Have any of you had this happen....I went for fill#3 on Friday. I always have the PA do my fills and we both thought that at fill #2 I was at 4cc's. She pulls all of the fluid out each time to check and at fill # 3 I was only at 3cc's. I lost a cc somewhere! Where did it go?? She told me not to worry it's not uncommon, but do I have a leak??? So now I am at 3.6cc's and hopefully when I go back on April 23rd they will all still be there.

Hope you all don't mind if I join your group! I know some of you from the December Delights! I was banded 12/16/09 and have lost ALMOST 30lbs now. Went for fill #3 today and got a very conservative one (leaving for the weekend and will be 3 1/2 hours away from a hospital), but scheduled fill #4 for only 3 weeks away. I have not gone back and read EVERYTHING, but everyone seems to be doing great! I have gotten myself stuck once, but have yet to PB or slime even though I was so stuck that I was praying for it lol. My next goal is to be able to do a 5k (jogging that is...can do one walking now). We'll see how that goes. Definitly giving myself lots of time to build up to it. Last time I tried pre-op I got 5 stress fractures in my foot and wound up in a cast for a month. I told my dr that's what happens when you make a fat girl exercise lol. I think I was pushing too hard then (at least I hope!) -
I posted this on the regular board...and got no responses..so I will try here Have any of you tried the couch to 5k program, and if so does it work?? I would LOVE to be able to jog a 5k. There's noone that jogs?? -
LOL--that's why some of the time I think mine is a man too (sorry guys!)....of course sometimes it reminds me of some of the witchy catty dramatic women I have met in my life too! So for now the band is still nameless and sexless lol. Maybe I need to pick a pet name like Fido lol
-
So how many of you have named your band?? I keep thinking about it...but can't decide if my band is man or woman lol.

I'm banded and don't feel any different

LOL..I like the poll idea! Mine was just 2 days ago -
Have any of you ever had a stuck episode with no sliming? This was my first REAL stuck..lasted about 30 mins and felt like some of the worst heartburn/stabbing pains I've ever felt, but I had no sliming. I almost wished for it so that it would take the food up or down! I also noticed I burped alot too. It finally went down :smile2: and I have put myself on liquids for the rest of the day. Just wondering if anyone else has had a stuck with no slime.

Sounds like it's up my alley! Saw your pics on FB and looks fun! :smile2:

Day 2 post op and every muscle aching
chickadee81 replied to btrieger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr. sent me home with pain meds (Roxicet--allergic to codeine) and told me for the 1st few days to take them faithfully every 4 to 6 hours to stay ahead of the pain...so if I was achy or in pain I couldn't really tell you :w00t:. Maybe just try that? I hated to think I was relying on them...but I am also a big boob! After 2 days of that though I took less and less (mostly night time) and was great! Feel better soon everyone!!! :smile2: -
How many pounds equals one dress size down?
chickadee81 replied to Soexcited's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've lost 25lbs and not even 1 dress size yet :w00t:!! I carry most of my weight in my abdomen and have lost most of my weight in my thighs and butt---so now I just have a saggy ass and baggy legs on pants that fit my waist .
