I weighed this am and am up 2lbs I have decided to just stick to the healthy foods and if I drink a protein shake, it will be no added sugar. I think the sugar in the shakes truly increases my appetite! I'm really not paying attention to the weight this am because it was only 1 day, the weight on monday will tell the tale. Wish me luck. I will win the battle of the bulge. It's just not happening fast enough for me. I am setting a mini goal for my aniversary 5lbs by 9/15/07!! Anyone want to join me? Teri

I never check in but here I go. I am down 26lbs. but I feel like I should have lost more by now. As of today I am trying to stick to healthy foods lots of vegetables, some fruits, 2 servings of meats, and protein shakes. I am currently #196 lbs and will check my weight in 1 week to see what the results are. If they are good, I know I am on the right track. Why is it that the not so healthy food goes down so easy??? Hi all!!! I was banded on 9/15/06 I am just not losing weight like I should be. I was finally filled and 2cc total fill but find I am still hungry most of the time. Occasionally If I eat too fast I feel full right away, but if is eat slowly and chew well I can eat way too much. Is is time for a fill? I think so but would like others opinions. I just don't feel like I have hit that "sweet" spot yet. Help!!

Since going out to eat is not much fun anymore.......What does everyone think about going out for Coffee or Tea???? Or other drinks, Starbucks or Borders or some place like that???? We could chat and drink and chat????

I am working on Sunday 7am to 3pm then I have bowling. I would love to meet some of my local LB brothers and sisters, but maybe some other time. I just had my second fill on November 14 and I can hardly eat anything at all. I am thinking maybe I am overfilled???? I am going to give it at least a couple of weeks to see if it relaxes a little, if not I will call the Dr. Hope you have a great time tomorrow!

Virginia, The lap band is less invasive. No re-routing, no mal-absorption. If it were me I would go with the lap-band first. What do you have to lose (other than a little excess weight). If you do not get the results you want with the lap-band, then go for the RNY. Just my opinion. Actually the RNY scares me. (I am a real chicken) But believe me, If my health depended on me loosing weight and the lap-band didn't work for me. I would then consider the RNY. Good Luck in your decision, Teri

I go in at 1:45 this afternoon for my first fill. Yippee!!! I hope the first fill does the trick for a while. Update: No fill today, but I went back on the 25th and he added 1cc!!!

My name is Teri, I am from Mchenry Il. I was banded on September 15th. I go in for my first fill on October 24th. I am so excited!!!! I have no restriction at all now, I can guzzle my Propel Water with no problem. I almost feel like a bottomless pit. I can't wait to feel full after eating 4 ozs. Of course I will miss not being able to drink my liquids fast. I am a nurse so I drink when I get the chance, which isn't often. I will just have to practice sipping often. How is everyone else???? Are you ready for winter???

I am in the same spot. I was banded on 9/15/06, I am not scheduled for a fill until 10/30/06. Is that a long time to wait until my first fill? Should I call the Dr. and ask for a fill sooner, Like 10/15???? What is a typical fill??? I feel like I have absolutely no restriction at all. I am not eating wrong things or eating alot. I want to lose, lose, lose.... Should I call my dr? Thanks Ladies & Gentlemen,

This is day 3 for me on the lapband talk board. Is PMS running high on this board???? or is this the way we get along here?? I have had no interaction with you but you need to leave well enough alone. This is starting to look like immature individuals who have to have the last word. LET IT BE!!!!!! LEAVE IT ALONE!!! I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO READ THROUGH THE BS TO GET AND SHARE INFORMATION. If you have a problem with someone, perhaps private e-mail would be a better option.

Are you nervous? I was. I really expected recovery to be a little easier, but oh well I will grin and bare it (LOL). Each day gets easier. I still have a problem with the gas and BLOATING!!! Good luck to you.

It is a small world!!!! I was born in Dallas Tx. I would love to move to Tennessee but my youngest just started HighSchool. I have been in Illinois for 30 years. Maybe I will be able to move when my son graduates. For now I will just visit as often as I can.

I had Tubal Reversal Surgery back in 2003 and my surgeon said to just wait until they fell off. I don't remember if I was to wash them or cover them when bathing and just wait till they fell off. I want small scars so the longer they stay on the better??? Hope that helps

Cory, I had surgery on 9/15 and I have been able laying on my back or my right side (non port side) since the surgery. I am able to lay for a short while on my left side. So just wait it out you will be able to lay another way soon.

Ha, Queen of the Board....... You are too funny. Oh by the way, I love Tennessee. I took my kids to the smokies for spring break and they loved it. Plus it's a great place for a romantic get away!

Hey guy & girls, I just got banded on 9/15, I think the worst thing for me was the wearing off of the general anesthesia (it makes me dry heave) But after that was over the gas pain is just aweful. It goes away but then when I eat or wait a long while to eat my stomach seems to fill up with gas..... Has anyone else had this problem. I have tried a heating pad (which feels good) Ibuprofen, and gas-x. Ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Lin, You are so close!!!! Right down the street. I will let you know how it goes for me. How much weight do you want to lose? My Dr. would like to see me at 156 which is the max for my height and still healthy. I would like to be 135 - 140.

I am getting banded tommorrow at 10:15 am at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. (I work there) My Humana HMO is paying for it, because I have hypertension, and High cholestrol. I love hospital insurance.

Hi I am Teri, I live in McHenry and I am having the lap band procedure on 9/15. I wonder???? Does insurance pay for fills? I have Humana HMO. Does anyone have any experience with this at all?
