I rode horses when i was 15. I miss them so much but ive been afraid to ride again because of my weight. Going horseback ridding is definetly one of my weightloss goals. Sorry i just love animals:) and ur pony looks awesome.. you will get there girl -

Calling all DWF area banders!!!! Please Help.. My name is Jade 28 coming in from southwest Colorado..but don't get me wrong, I'm a southern girl from Bama:) I am set for surgery on the 12th of Feb :biggrin: But my flight arrives Wed. 10th. Any friendly banders out there interested in meeting up and talking with me while I am in town pre-op?. I don't know the area at all and would hate to be stuck in a hotel room. (: Drinks on me:) No but for real i would really love some calming techniques for surgery, encouragement, and any personal experiences you might find helpful. Thanks so much.. Jade**

It is so cool that we have the same doctor:smile2: You will have to tell me all about everything!!! I know the pre-op diet does not look fun at all, but im ready for it. I bought and elliptical for the house and have tried out some Protein shakes. yuck!!! i hear ya. Well i have experimented a little and i found that frozen fruit (ur fav) mixed with 1/2 n 1/2 PureApple juice and Water with the Alive protein mix (pea and rice) taste actually pretty good. just found combo yesterday.. Just a day at a time.. you can get through it!! Im sure i will be hurtin after week to..lol.. I'm glad Dr. Smith got you excited and seems genuine.. I have mostly spoken with Heather.. know her? First apt is 2-11-10. yay!!:biggrin: Jade** -

Well for one I am self pay and the price is unbeatable!! Dr Smith also does surgery in Abq whch is only a 3hr ish drive away from Durango, but for an extra 5G's. So i opted to fly down to the great state of Texas:) Have you already had a few visits with nurses etc.? Seen the doc yet? How is you pre op diet going? Wow.. Sounds like you've got some magical healing powers. So glad you are getting back to normal. How is your movement?? Still sore or feelin gas pains??
My surgery is on friday the 12th of feb.. i have to drive 3 hr to the airport and fly in
So im trying to gauge if i will be able o make that journey back on Sunday or not. Please keep me up dated on your progress. Happy for you!!

I had mine pierced when i was 17. They were small hoops and the both rejected not once but twice. Cool that so many people on here love nipple rings... Right on!

So glad your surgery went so well.. Makes me very happy:) You guessed right.. I decided not to go through with the Jan 15 date...I got cold feet i guess and backed out I know i just needed to process this whole thing a little more. But Now, I'm back in the game again and and set for either the 5th or the 12th of Feb.
So glad your feeling well and able to move around. Do you need to take any thing for the pain? I'd love to hear how your healing goes! Take Care and Congrats..

I am getting banded on the 12th of Feb. Actually i had an appointment on the 15th of Jan..but i backed out. I needed to really process this whole this with love and understanding before i let someone cut into my body. I agree with your post about the last meal syndrome. It is very important to me to let this be a mere tool that is incorporated into a completely different approach to self love. I love that your close to my age too.. Saw your post. love that you are from the rado!!! and 28 me too... i have my band date set for the 11th of Feb. I am getting excited and nervous for the whole thing. Are you using a doctor in denver?? just wondering. insurance or self pay?? sometimes you can get the surgery done on a friday and do a check up on saturday and be ready by monday. Just a sugestion... Keep in touch let me know how it goes for ya!!

Okay ...this has to be the Funniest post sesh i have ever encountered....Thank you ladies for making me laugh so much. And whats funnier i agree with all of you.. I love the " my poop comes from there" line and live and let live. Personally and maybe this is tmi. I was always of the mind set that the anal pleasures are foul and if a man wanted to do that then he had some gay tendendancies... Yet one very mysterious night long ago it just happened and it was actually way erotic... see previous post about how warm up sesh is a must!! However since then, i have remained true to my no ehn ehn.. I tried to make an exception for my last boyfriend but i dont think it was anatomically posssible without an emergency visit to the ER.. Keep up the great posts ladies!!! -
Hey there... thanks for responding to my post earlier.. Just want to say I backed out of my surgery date... got cold feet i guess.. I really needed to process IT more..But now i have made another appointment and it looks like the date is set for the 10 or 11th of Feb..
Since i started the pre op diet before... kinda.. I was wondering if you had any tips on food/shakes/ etc... Thanks again for your thought...

Meilwriter, Thank you so much for responding to my post. I am struggling to make this surgical decision. I felt that the surgery center was just pushing me through like cattle. They were going to do all the meet and greet, psych eval and all that jazz, and then do the surgery the next day. This may still be the right thing for me to do but I need to make sure the operation and risks are worth it. What was your experience like? Do you feel a great connection with the nurses and surgon? Did you have to go through some proper screening and evals before the band date or was it more like 1,2,3??? Also how long did it take you to be physically active and doing yoga poses after the band?? Again thankyou so much for your support!! it means alot to me.. Jade

Hey there all you spring chickens:) I am 28 and set to be banded on the 15 of Jan. I have struggled with my weight as long as i can remember..but Here is my issue. I consider myself to ba a spiritual person. I believe in karma, massage and herbs and breathing and have been healthy and active for most of my life. I am scared to put this band in my body. Part of me feels like this surgery is invasive and an afront to my body, but then i also know the extra weight is hurting me too. I am afraid i am copping out... But then i look at the reality of my situation and know that it is not getting any easier to lose the weight.. Just working through the mental part of this process. Western medicine vs Eastern Medicine?? Does anyone have or had similar thoughts?? Thanks Jadeite
