Thanks for the reply OU! Maybe this will prompt some more replies! Two years is coming up quickly. Lets get on here and catch up Maysters!! I have reached the 100 pound goal, I've held steady for quite some time now. I started working with a personal trainer this January and have lost many inches! Neat to see and feel the muscles some of which I didn't realize I had! The big 50th B'day is this July too! Oh the fun!! Got laid off from my job last month, bummer but that just pushes me into a new direction I think. Will be getting a brand new Grandson within the next few days... at least my very pregnant Daughter in law hopes anyway. Update: She's having labor pains as I write to tonight may be the night! Yippeee! Still working toward my degree, hoping to have that BBA by the end of the year. Sure hope all are well and good on this fine day. Hey Drews, Are we still having May '06 Bandster Blogs?
-
Happy Bandiversary Maysters! Every one has done so well. We made it a year and all things are good! I'm so proud of everyone! I got to 70 in a year and I'm very happy! I look forward to another year of losing! Sounds so funny doesn't it?

Hey Maysters! It was nice to sit here and catch up with everyone. The body image essays are great, thanks for posting. I seem to be stuck like a few others. Still hanging in with watching the intake, increasing the output but, yet.... the scale stays the same. I too was looking for the big 100 for our Bandversary but alas, it has aluded me. I may have to take a chisel and hammer to the rest. Finally bought new clothes... didn't need to before because I had kept all my 'smaller' clothes but... shrunk out of them. Yipee! With school and work, there seems to be no time to jump in here but, I'm glad I took the time to see what everyone has been up to. Hope all are well on this wonderful day!

Where are all the Michigan people at??
LapBandit1 replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello fellow MI Bandsters! I'm in Harrison Township and as you can see I was banded back in May last year. 65 pounds down and still feeling pretty good. No issues so far other than most of my clothes don't fit anymore... this time thought they are way too big. Hope all my fellow Michigan Bandsters are doing well! Good Luck to all of you. P.S. no ticker,,, I broke it and can't seem to fix it. -
Hello MayBandsters! It's been a long time since I checked in. Been very busy with work and school. Traveling all over as usual. Stuck in Mexico for quite a while now. At least its warm down there. Had trouble updating my ticker for some reason so I simply took it off for now. 190 lbs. Maysters! Happy Girl. Got stuck for some time at the 201-203 mark and then finally got moving again. Under 200!! I can't even believe it myself. I'm so proud of all of us. We are doing great. Hope all are well and good this fine day!

Well Hello again fellow Michigan Banders! Hope all are well and doing fine. Things are going well here, 3 more pounds down, slow but steady. Had a 2nd fill right after Thanksgiving. No issues so far. We'll see how it goes. Nice to know there are more and more of us getting on here! -
Made it through TG really well. Amazed myself. I did all the cooking and still managed to keep my wits about me. Glad to hear and see all are doing well. YOU BOTH LOOK FABULOUS!!:clap2: I don't have any pics and I sure don't look as good as you two do so I don't think I wanna go there anyway. Bag lady? Who said Bag Lady. I was at work and a woman I work with grabbed the back of my bags and pulled and they almost came off! We laughed like crazy. I can't wear my phone on my belt anymore either, it pulls my drawers down to much. I pulled some clothes in from the garage and it seems I'm still just a wee bit too big for them so I'm stickin with what I've got for a few more pounds. :speechles Got my fill, doesn't seem to be doing that much, not like you all have mentioned. He's very conservative and thinks I'm doing fine so I don't think he will fill too much at one time. We got another 1/2 cc and that was all he would do. I think he feels I need to get my head in gear and not depend on the band.... I guess I can agree with that. Can I do it... hmmmm I'm sure going to try. BMI from 43 to 35, drop in cholesterol 30 points... I guess I made him happy. I know I feel so much better, and stairs are not my enemy anymore either! I want to get in on the challenge, I'm thinking 15 pounds... so thats it, I'm in! Off we go!!! I'll add a ticker as soon as I can. 15 by Jan 15!!! :bandit

I have only lost a couple of pounds since I was last on. I have scheduled my 2nd fill for next Monday. If this one goes as well as the first I'll be one happy girl. Work and school. Who thought that was a good idea???? I've been busting my rear working on the coursework and its kicking back. I wish all a Happy Thanksgiving! My personal thanks this year are to my PA and my Surgeon for being there for me whenever I need. I also give thanks that I found all of you wonderful people. Have a Great Day tomorrow! WE HAVE DONE GREAT IN ONLY 6 MONTHS!

Drews, Good to hear from you. I can't seem to find our thread, why doesn't it show up in the list anymore? LapBandit1 -
Congrats LV! Its a cold rainy night here in MI, but we do have one good thing going on here. MY BELOVED TIGERS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES!! Such an amazing time here now. We have waited so long and never expected it but oh my goodness its so great! I keep thinking that the last time they were there in 84 I weighed just 130lbs. I was also young and dumb! Drews: Good Luck on the job and take it from one who travels all over.... GO there girl, especially if you've never been. Will be cold but gee the sights you'll see in NY in December! I'm off to Syracuse in a couple of weeks to put on a workshop for a supplier. I'd much rather be in NYC! Hope you decide to go.

Welcome Calanne! Maysters: I have a question. Why am I having so much trouble finding this thread all of a sudden? Was back to the doc on Thursday. Big day for me, flu shot, my first one actually. Sucked blood to check the hormone levels, and cholesterol checkup. Good news so far: Drum Roll Please......... BMI was 43 now 35!! Got a call today about my cholesterol levels being 'significantly lower' I will find out the numbers when I get home this weekend but love the significant! Lost 6 pounds since I saw her last too! Only 2 pounds to my very first goal of 50 pounds! I'm slowly but surely getting there! MOVE THAT TICKER!!! p.s. School started this week! One of these days I just may finish my degree! Hope all are well on this fine but rainy night in Indiana :bandit

LindaV: Poor baby, I feel so bad for you. I don't have the monthly issues anymore but totally understand the feeding statement. Used to do the same thing. Whats strange now is every now and then I will feel like I'm having pms symptoms... or maybe I'm just a crabby wench now? And yes it is beautiful here in the fall, reminds me of home. Its not that far away from home anyway, I'm just being a whiner. I'm really good at it. Just wish I could have the cheese to go with it. Just Duckie: I should have probably explained that my G-Son is playing for the ESFL which is kinda like a little league for football although they do have a Varsity team with an age range from 13-15 (with weight limits... to keep it a bit less dangerous for the skinny kids). My G-Son is only 10. My eldest.. whom I tell all my young male admirers was adopted when he was 12 and I was a mere 18, is 30. No, don't do the math, its my story and I'm sticking to it. I figure if I can still attract men who are younger than me I can make up any story I want to. :heh: I always tell the truth about my age, doesn't bother me I'm proud of it... I made it this far and got this big and have not bit the dust yet so I feel very lucky, very lucky indeed. Bye the way... I'm 48 and I think I may be the Old Mayster in the group. Cortisone.... my friend. Have lots of those for my knees and I do know that pain very well. It's killer!!! Hurts so darn bad when they shoot ya but should help within a day or so. I also get the synthetic cartilage shots... extremely painful also but works within minutes and can keep the pain away for months!! The last one I had was at least 8 months ago or more and I only have what I call 'normal' pain now. Good stuff if any of you have cartilage issues in your knees. I have heard though that it has a 50-50 chance of working for ya. Again, I feel lucky. My, I have babbled tonight. Hope all are well and good this fine Fall night. :bandit

OUSooner: AMAZING! CONGRATS! :clap2: Drews: What were the symptoms you were having? I'm so glad you found out what was up and its so easily fixed. Mypo: Glad they found you something that is helping. My G-Son plays Freshman but my eldest is coaching the Varsity. It really is fun watching them play, I know what you mean. I just love it. But, one very long day in the sun watching and when I got home I had a very strawberried face, especially my nose. A sunburn in October in Michigan! Who would have thought. Worse thing is, I had my sunglasses on so I now look like a red faced racoon! Really cute huh? :embarassed: Kim2: Hooray for you! :biggrin1: Began my day at 4:00am for my trip back to what has become my other home, here in Indiana. Walking around with my red racoon face. Gee, you'd think people would get over it quickly but I sure got lots of stares. As if one look didn't explain I had too much sun. I guess it beats being stared at for my big old rear end! Gave em something else to look at I guess! ha ha. Glad to hear all the good news. :bandit

JustDuckie: I do the achey joint thing every time the weather changes, along with that I get weather related asthma so here we go for another season of pain and difficult breathing. I'm there with ya kid so don't feel alone. MarcyD off having a great time. Hope ya win big kiddo! 3 pounds down and 2 back on today. Sat most of the day watching my GSon play football and my eldest coach. 4 bottles of Water...hoping I too can pee them out tonight! Back on the road tomorrow but only till Wednesday. See my doc Thurs, gotta get the old oil checked... that time of year also.:rolleyes Hope all are well and good.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I should do that too.

Drews: Sorry to hear of the issues your having at home. Thoughts and prayers to ya! In fact, thoughts and prayers to all of you, I'm saddened by the health issues some of us are having. I'm hoping as we shrink, so do our issues. I have been home since Friday and its been really nice to be here. Even though its been rain rain rain. Only news I have is I lost one more lb. Wowee huh? One down, 60ish to go.... slow like a turtle but I'll get there. Hope all are well and things are looking up this evening.

Where are all the Michigan people at??
LapBandit1 replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pretty darn good actually. I have lost a chunk of weight and am having a lot less pain than what I had been having, knees, ankles, back etc. I am able to eat most things, just not as much as I used to. I have had no big issues with the band really. After surgery I was very sore, took awhile to get back up to speed but all surgery is like that. Could not put much in the gut for some time but eventually got some liquids in. I was on liquids for 2 weeks prior to surgery and 2 weeks after. Then mushies or soft foods such as yogurt, fat free jello. This depends on your doc and what he wants you to eat though. Just do what they say. A month or so ago I began cutting my own grass again after not being able to for many years due to PAIN. I have experienced hair loss, not a great deal but enough to bug me. This is normal for some people. Just like after having a baby... I think its due to hormones and the big loss of weight. Others seem to think its from lack of protein, I eat right and get the amount of protein I'm supposed to so... ??? I think all of us were nervous before surgery, wondering if we are doing the right thing and all. I can honestly tell you, I know I did. I wish you great luck and success in your journey and I just know you'll do fine! I can suggest you snoop around on this site and take in all the info you can. Try not to believe all of it. ask your doc if you question anything. Lots of people on here are good honest real people who have struggled like us and they can be very supportive. Others are just not so good, so take it with a grain of salt and always listen to your docs. After your first weigh in after the surgery you'll see why you did it!! And on and on or should I say off and off!! Good Luck and Band On!!! :bandit -
I'm so glad you had such a great time. Wax all you want lady Linda! :biggrin1:

Hang in there! We are all here for ya! I like the thought of staying off the scale, I too can be obsessive about it. Like Health said, any weight loss helps you to get better. Have'nt we all lived with the 'if it ain't one thing its another' for too long? I know in my life I sure have. I'm tired of it dang it all. We are here for you, I know you'll be back on the road in no time, you've done so well and come so far I don't think anything can stop you! Like a snowball rolling down the hill, except we get to get smaller as we roll! I also think we all fall off sometimes... God knows I sure have! Stretching out our hands to help pull you back on  Next time it just may be one of us that you'll have to reach for when we fall off. Thoughts and prayers to ya! :bandit LindaV: Party on Girl! :biggrin1:

Welcome Katie, Oh so normal. I'm able to eat more than I expected too. Don't worry, let the band do its job. You'll know when it is, believe me. Snoop around in here and find a group you can relate to. Some are good and some are not so good. Keep your head in the right place, pay attention to your body and its signals. Listen to your docs, as the first bandster said, everyone is different and your reactions will be different too. I joined not long ago. I'm in the May Band Crew. These people can be very supportive and knowledgable about what your going through. But, you may run into a few who are have the holier than thou issue. Find some friends and join in on the fun. Make sure you check out the FAQ and all that. It can be very helpful. Many put links on here to help you too. You'll be fine. Welcome to BandWorld and Good Luck to you! p.s. I'm sure May Crew would love to have you even though your not a Mayster. BandOn Katie!

VG with 1.0cc Have not lost like you all have though. I'm the slow poke in the bunch. Good news, will go home for a whole week next week! I just hope I can remember where I live?
