I have had that problem even before the band and pbing! I had an ENT that said he would take my tonsils out for me but I have heard of the horrible pain of getting your tonsils out as an adult and just can't convince myself that it is something I absolutely have to do. It actually is important to get the yuck out but you must be really careful because it is an area that will get irritated easily. I did hear that you can gargle to get some of it cleaned out if you do it right away after pbing...you may try that. Other than that I do not have any other advice for you! Hang in there!
I had an ablation in December of 05 and had a hysterectomy a year and a half later due to breakthrough bleeding/pain with the ablation. A girlfriend of mine (who had gastric bypass) had an ablation done in February and is already back at the doctors due to heavy bleeding. I think ablation works well for people who never had heavy cycles to begin with but for people who have heavy cycles or long cycles it does not work very well. If you are done having children (which you must be if you are considering an ablation) I would tlak to the doctor about a laproscopic hysterectomy instead. (Mine was abdominal and painful!)
The sliming definitely made the band "real" for me. Until my first incident I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. Now I have to be sure to eat slow and chew, chew, chew.
You are doing amazing!! Great job!
The rules for on base surgeries are different than off base. I had to do the psych eval, and had a long history of weight issues in my medical charts already but other than that I was just 100 pounds overweight with no co-morbidities. The huge bonus is Tricare had ZERO to do with my surgery since it was done on base by a military doctor. I kept worrying about Tricare until it hit me one day that I would not ahve to worry about them at all!
Wow congratulations! You just really put all of this into perspective for me. I have been so focused on the weight loss that I didn't look at BMI. When I started I was at 44.9 BMI and I am now at 38.4. Still way too high but it is dropping and I am healthier! Thanks for the perspective check!!
No suggestion but I will keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone else has one! I do know if I get a sweet tooth I can eat a bit of low sugar peanut butter and the sweet tooth passes.
Are you asking if you need another fill? You only lost 1 or 2 pounds since your last fill? If that is the case I would want another fill! My last fill I I had only lost 3 pounds from my previous fill so I went from 4.5 to 6.5 (in a 10 cc band) and I am still not really feeling restriction so I would go in again tomorrow if they let me, haha!
