I'm a revision from LapBand also, how is your port incision? My surgeon also removed my stomach through that incision, it still has some swelling, for a while I swore my port was still there lol Hi KajunGumbo I have a very sore incision also. I think they pulled out something the size of an orange out of a one inch incision. Lol. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi All, I had my lap band out and the sleeve done on March 27. I came home 24 hours after. I have struggled in recuperating. I have been really tired and lethargic. I am having issues with getting in more that 45 grams of protein. I am drinking 50 to 60 ounces of fluids including G2, water, and unsweetened tea. The biggest issue I am having with my incisions is the one on the right side. It pulls really bad when I stand up. The second issue is constipation. I haven't been able to go since the day before surgery. So for the count that is 5 days now, if things don't change soon, I will call the doctor tomorrow to ask for his suggestions. On a positive note I have lost 23 pounds so far since beginning the two week prep diet. So, far so good

I hope so. I have eaten 5 apples in the last 8 days. LOL. I seem to be craving them. -

Hi Everyone, I am nervous as a cat about having my band out and sleeve done on March 27. I have started phase one of the pre-op diet. I hope the sleeve is not a mistake. I am down from an all time high of 305 to 245. I have been as low as 209. My band has been giving me trouble for 2 years. I will be glad to have the pain gone and I hope to continue my journey to accomplish my goal of 140. Good luck to the March Sleevers!

Protein shake recommendations
Mommy1558 replied to Rn925's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the lowcarb choc. EAS. They are premade in little silver cartons. I keep them very cold...much better that way. I hope you find the ones that work for you. -
If you like chocolate try buying plain Greek yogurt and one box of instant sugar free chocolate pudding mix. Mix the entire large container of plain Greek yogurt and the box of pudding. Then put it all back in the yogurt container. It has 23 g of protein in one cup.... Of course I dont eat a cup. Kinda tastes like a "faux chocolate cheescake." I keep it in the fridge and have a little occassionally when I have the desire for a treat.

My five children expect a little Halloween Party every year. So, we will be doing that this weekend because Halloween is during the school week. They dress up and watch some pre-teen scary shows on TV eat candy and pizza and run all over with their friends. I am terrified of the candy(I bought yesterday.) I began to hear the candy talking to my cravings as soon as I got it in my house last night. I locked it away in the filing cabinet drawer in the home office. Now it sits in there wanting me to let it out so it can be mindlessly consumed by me. I should not have bought it two days early, I should not have bought it two days early..... (lesson learned). I know it is there waiting to get out....thus the reason we have "no good stuff in the house" as my kids remind me .....If I eat just one...that leads to another, and another....It is like eating popcorn...who can eat just one kernal ( I don't eat that anymore either..band issues). I have a plan to pour it out and have the kids eat it up as fast as they can! I will try to do something else while they enjoy the scary candy hiding in my filing cabinet...... How do you curb those old habits and cravings for sweets?

Denied Two Days Before Surgery
Mommy1558 replied to audreycat123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bless you! That is terrible. I have a clause in my medical insurance NO Weight Loss Anything. So, I had to do the self pay option. I did an anlysis of my health concerns for my future and being around for my children as they grow up then I decided to go for self pay. I would not change a thing. I just wish the insurance companies would realize that long term it is a win win for them when people don't develop comorbidity issues or get off medications and require less usage of the insurance. That coupled with the fact that people who live longer pay the insurance company more in the long run for the insurance premiums than the ones who die young from the complications of being overweight. I hope you can find a solution! -
YOU GLOW, GIRL!

Boy Oh Boy! Can I do a number on myself or what? I saw my Dr a couple months ago, he thought my band was in a good place. I said oh no Dr. I need a fill because I am eating way too much and my weight loss has stopped and my cravings are taking over. Well he reluctantly gave me a small fill.. Now I am paying the price. I have reflux reallllllly bad. The problem didn't occur over night but gradually over a month or so. My work shedule has delayed my abilty to see the Dr. I have an appointment to have the fill removed hopefully this will fix my reflux problem. Meanwhile, I am doing liquids to get by until my appoinment, eating Zantac, trying not to eat tooo late, and sleeping on a STACK of pillows. ugh. I didn't go to medical school...so I have no idea why I would pretend to be a Dr!

Thanks to all. I agree that I need an alternative. I think I will take up quilting again to keep my hands busy when the cravings start. I will try some version of a sugar free treat to help me out.
