How are ya' all? Well I survived my surgery. :clap2: Had my band put in by Dr. Volinger on 1/8, what a great start to the new year. I had a set back on Saturday, I ended up in the Emergency room with Pneunomia :sick. I am feeling much better today. I have my follow-up with Dr. V on Friday. Can't wait to see you Kim. I hope I get to eat pureed foods then.....I'm sick of soup. I have lose 26 lbs. since I started the liquid diet. I feel great about that. Well that's all. I hope you are all well. I look forward to our next get together, even if I have to order mashed potatoes.:hungry: Talk to you soon. My wireless is down, so I can't get on often. Have a great day.

I just had a lap band put over my failed gastric bypass. Dr Volinger is wonderful. He did NOT do my orig. sugery...I wish he had. He is so easy to speak to and his staff is tops. I honestly feel that his staff will be instrumental in keeping me on track. I did not have this support with my last surgeon. You made a GREAT decision.

The Band VS Gastric Bypass...What made your decision??

In reply to a comment made by Randi.....you are 100% right. I had gastric bypass back in 2002. I started at 325 lbs and got down to 228lbs. I then started gaining. I am back up to my orig. weight. My pouch stretched and the stoma (the opening from the stomach to the intestine) is wide opened. I eat and it immediately leaves the stomach. I am in the process of now getting a lap band to decrease my pouch size. Having revission surgery to make my pouch small again seems too invasive. Dumping, Malabsorbtion are only a few of the side effects. I wish I had done the band from the start. One question....what is golfballing and pb'ing. I never heard these terms. -
Finished all my pre-op visits. Waiting on approval from insurance. I already had gastric bypass in 2002. My pouch is twice the size it should be and my stoma is wide opened. Looking forward to getting banded, and getting back on track.
