I feel the need to confess. I have gotten in the habit of eating something sweet before bed. For a bit it was Cap'n Crunch, then I bought some sugar free cookies but those still are loaded with calories and carbs. Tonight I got some more of the kids' cereal and ate til I was sick. I did so good for 3 months and now I'm losing control. WHY??!!

WOAH!! I had my first true "stuck" episode this morning. I thought I was going to DIE! I've heard it was bad, but until you experience it, you just have no idea. I still feel sore from it and that was 7 hours ago! That sure does teach you to NOT do that again!
-
Oh my goodness, YES! There are days where I can barely swallow anything w/o feeling like it's going to get stuck. And then there are days that I want to go HOG WILD and eat everything! I guess it's just a balance we have to find for ourselves. I'm still losing, so I'll take the ups and downs. :Banane20: It's been a few weeks since my last fill and I'm not in a real hurry to get my next one. I have a feeling this next one will do it for me, and for some reason, I'm a little scared. I've yet to have a PB or sliming experience and I really don't look forward to that. :Banane20:

The picture idea worked for me. I had my son take pics of me the night before surgery. I had him take some more last night. WOW!! My profile view is unbelievable and it got me so excited. What a motivation to keep up with what I'm doing. 30 pounds has made a huge difference, so I can't wait to see what the next 30 will be like!

WOOHOO!! Getting fill #2 today. Praying this one helps. I haven't lost a pound in 2 weeks and even GAINED one!! That's not good.
-
OMG! I go for my 2nd fill next week, and as excited as I am, I'm not scared listening to your stories. YIKES! We're really doing this now, folks. ICK! But I really need the restriction. I was able to eat TWO pieces of pizza AND the toppings off a THIRD slice! Oh my GAWD! I still can't believe I did that, but I was so hungry and frustrated. And now I'm just mad at myself. Dangit!

LOL @ burping with the kids. My kids have had a ball with it. I have a 2 boys, 2 y/o and almost 13 y/o. The 2 y/o goes into a fit of giggles every time I let one out and the oldest tries to out do me. It's been a pain, but fun! LOL!
-
The doc had hoped after the fill that it would get better. And it did for a few days, but it's back with a vengence!

Okay...I need to know...has anyone else become a virtual burping machine?? From the time I crawl out of bed to the time I crawl back in, it's just a constant gas release. I guess I should be glad it's just burping, right? But it's become uncomfortable. I don't want to eat or drink b/c whatever I swallow has to encounter this perpetual gas bubble and it's painful. And no, GasX doesn't help. And yes, I talked to the doctor and he said let's just monitor it and if it becomes acid reflux, we can talk about meds to treat that. It doesn't hurt too terribly bad, it's just uncomfortable. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

UGH!! I bought a new scale this weekend. The other one I had was a cheapo and would give me 4 different readings every time I would step on it. The new one is one from The Biggest Loser and also does body fat calculations and other fancy stuff. AND it weighs me about 4-6 pounds MORE than my old one. UGH! I'm taking my ticker down and just going to start over.

I hear ya!! You just never know! I was once told that 8-10 pounds was one dress size. I call BS on that one! I've lost 16 pounds and still find just one size smaller is still a bit too snug. Not quite sure there's a specific formula to this. Wish there was, though!!

I've actually kinda enjoyed the pureed stage. I do eat alot of tuna and crab salads, but it's been okay, especially coming straight off a month long liquid diet. When I saw the doc last week, he told me to be prepared for a couple of pounds to come back on once food is added in. And from everything I've read here, the first month to 6 weeks will be slow losing. Just something we have to deal with and just stick to it!

LOL about Isopure. I got some to try, but haven't gotten the courage to do so yet after hearing some of the reviews. The majority have said to cut it in half with water and add some Crystal Lite for some added flavor. I have tried Cytomax Cytosport Cytomax Protein RTD Watermelon (20 Oz X 12 Bottles) Not too bad once I split the bottle in half with water. Somewhat like a jollyrancher with a bit of an after taste. It makes for a nice alternative to the milky shakes.

Do you FEEL fat????????
txprincess replied to esv2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was thinner, I felt fat. Then I would see pics of myself and think, "Wow...I look gooood!" Now I'm "obese" and look in the mirror and see one hot looking chick...next day as I browse through the pics on the camera I'm left stunned and shocked by the rolly polly blonde staring back at me. I don't think my "mental" will ever catch up with my "reality." -
HAHAHA!! This week's peeve is adults that think they have to explain themselves to their young children as if they were equal. I started to do this the other day with my oldest son. "I checked your text messages while you were gone...because your phone was going off and it was getting on my nerves and I thought it might be someone...okay, really, I checked your text messages b/c I pay the bill and I bought the phone and I don't need an excuse to check it b/c I'm your mother and I can do whatever I want in this house b/c I pay all the bills and LET YOU LIVE HERE." Whew...

Is it ok to have a glass of wine
txprincess replied to georgie1259's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist said it was fine every once in a while as long as it didn't exceed 4 oz and I had met my protein requirement for the day. Don't waste calories on alcohol if you still need to get in all your required nutrients. And she said that if I ever stall in my weight loss, alcohol will be the first thing she cuts from my diet. -
Be careful Kikoman! Hate to hear you were down and out for a bit. But glad you're back up and know better how to take care of your self.

How soon after eating do YOU Drink??
txprincess replied to heidib's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have also wondered how to get all my fluids in if I can't drink 30 minutes before and 90 minutes afterwards. That's 2 hours of not being able to drink. Then I feel like I need to guzzle water before I hit my next "dry spell." This is alot of work! But oh so worth it!! -
So what are ya'll finding the hardest lifestyle adjustment is so far? My most difficult change in habit is the no eating and drinking together. VERY difficult habit to break for me. I'm so accustomed to taking a long drink of something after I'm done eating. It's really driving me bonkers. LOL!

I was going to use the elliptical too as that's what I have at the house. Doc said no, no, no. Oops.... As for work, I had surgery on a Tuesday, did some work from home on Friday and went back full time on Monday. I was moving slow, but didn't feel there was a reason I couldn't go back. I have an office job and sit behind a desk a majority of the time, so it wasn't too difficult.

Just had my first post op visit with the doctor. I'll be able to get my first fill the week of 2/15. They like to wait as close to the 6 week mark as possible. :smile2: I said I was super hungry, so he'll allow it at 5 weeks. That'll be okay...I can do it! I did get kinda chastised for using my elliptical yesterday...I only did like 10 minutes. He said only stationary bike (which I don't have) or walking for about 10-15 minutes. OOPS! Got to start pureed today. YUMMMMY tuna salad! LOL!
-
I start mushies today!! YAY!!! I've never been so excited about egg salad before. LOL! I also have my first preop with my doc today and hope to find out how soon I can have a fill. They told me when I was ready, I'M READY!!! But I'm sure he'll put me off til at least week 6. We'll see!
-
I'm hungry right now! :scared2: I'm on full liquids until 2 weeks post op (which will be Tuesday). So I get yogurt w/o fruit, protein shakes, 98% fat free cream of chicken soup (only 1 cup/day). The hunger gets pretty bad at times. But once I sip on my shake, it dissipates quickly. I just can't wait to CHEW food!

I found a 6 pack variety pack of Isopure last night at GNC. I've been wanting to try it b/c I'm looking for a non-milk protein shake for some variety. I'm finding most people cut their's with water and some add Crystal Lite for some added flavor. I absolutely can NOT do the unflavored protein added to food. I'm sorry, but that stuff is NOT unflavored to me. I can smell it, I can taste it, and it's NOT pretty. BLECH! CherieLynne -- I have heard people say to be prepared to gain a few pounds back once you start real food. I'm still on liquids til Tuesday so we'll see what happens at the end of next week. I'm so ready for some FOOD! loL!
