    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

I never thought about how much I lost each week on average. I just did the calculations...1.37. Amazing! Now some weeks I lost more, and some I lost nothing, but to see how it all averaged out...well, that's just GREAT! Thanks Bobbi! HIGH FIVE!

    Ugh, binged today.

I want to binge sometimes, but all it does is lead to me vomiting. I will be watching TV and the people on whatever show I'm watching is at a restaurant ordering and eating food. All I want is to fly through the TV, grab all the food, and shove it in my mouth. I miss food all the time.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

I struggled big time after my last fill. Just hours after I got 1 cc, I had to go back because I couldn't even swallow my own spit without throwing it up. So he took out .5 cc. For about 5 weeks, I threw up EVERYTHING I ate. EVERYTHING. And at night I had to sleep sitting straight up or the acid would come up and I would wake up vomiting in my sleep. Why did I let it go on for so long without going back to the doctor for another unfill? I lost 22 pounds in that 5 weeks, that's why. Isn't that sick? I suffered every day just to lose some weight. My best friend is 5'3" and weighs MAYBE 85 pounds. She doesn't understand what I'm going through and actually encouraged me to keep all my fluid and tried to discourage me from getting an unfill. She asked, "Isn't this what you want? To lose weight?" This was so frustrating and hurtful. I honestly dont' think she meant harm by it, she doesn't get it. I just couldn't handle it anymore. Every time I'd go out to eat, after just a few small bites of food, I was excusing myself to the restroom and praying no one was in there to hear me throw up. I finally went back to the doctor where he took out .25 cc. The weight loss has coming to a screeching halt, but I feel so much better. I joined Curves for about a month and grew very bored with it and haven't done any exercising since. I know if I were to add this to my daily routine, the pounds and inches would just slide off. I just haven't mentally gotten there yet.

    Do you eat soup?

Your answers are interesting. My nutritionist said to stay away from soup, but if I absolutely had to have it, then drain off the liquid first.

Well the holidays are just about here...are you ready? Not sure I'm mentally prepared for not being able to gorge myself, but trying to stay focused on the REAL meaning of the holidays.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Is anyone having any acid reflux problems? Mine started with my last fill. Sometimes it gets so bad at night, I'm up all night throwing up. The only way I can sleep those nights is sitting straight up in bed. And then the next day I'm super sore and can't eat much. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's terrible when it happens.

    Drinking during meals

I've found I physically can NOT drink during meals. If I do, it's all coming back up. This has been a good hindrance for me. Sorry I don't have much advice, other than to not have an option...don't have a liquid around to drink when you're eating. Good luck to you!
  9. So glad to hear your doc got you back in. I had this happen last week and my doc got me back in right away. It's scary when you can't swallow your own saliva, and we shouldn't have to live like that! Good luck to you!

Fill yesterday... tight due to swelling?

I answered my own question. After the fourth time I PB'd my own saliva, I called the doctor. I went and had .5 cc taken out. Much better.

Fill yesterday... tight due to swelling?

I too just had a fill...like 3 hours ago. I tried to drink a Protein shake and just minutes later it came up. Too tight? Or just swelling? Call doc now? Or wait til tomorrow and see how I feel? I haven't had a fill before where I actually felt tight, so this is new to me. Any experienced bandsters....please advise.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

I have the same problem with night eating. When the kids are in bed, and there's no one there to see me eat, I think that it doesn't count. Silly, huh? I also have a major problem with eating when I'm not hungry. I have some serious mental issues with food, issues I didn't even knew existed until after this surgery. I'm going for another fill tomorrow. I too haven't lost any weight in a few months. Hoping this fill willl jump start more weight loss.

    Curves???

I searched on here for people that talked about Curves and read alot of negative things. BUT...I LOVE IT! I started about a month ago, and when I leave, I'm dripping in sweat and my legs are wobbly. I started using their Smart Technology last week, and was in for quite a shock once I started that. I only THOUGHT I had been working hard. That pushed me to work even harder. The thing with Curves is that you get from it what you put in to it. If you go in and watch the older ladies just bee bop along and gossip, of course they're not going to get anything out of it. But if you go in there with the mindset of working as hard as you can, you will stand to be successful. I have my first weigh in and measure next week, and I know that I will have been successful in dropping inches. I can already tell what a difference it has made in the way I look and feel. Now...with all that said...could I get bored of it in a few months since it's such a repetitive workout, maybe. But again, I will have to make the choice to do it and stick with it. And if I'm successful, why quit?

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Well, I haven't lost since May, so I figured it was time to add the most crucial part to this equation...exercise. I joined Curves on Saturday. Time is a huge issue for me, so if I can get a workout...a GOOD workout...in 30 minutes, sign me up! Hopefully this is just what I need to bust through my plateau.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

BACK UP!!! Cherie...you're husband left you? Have you told us this before, or is this the first we're hearing of it, sorry if I missed that. He left after you had the band? What a d*&k! Sorry...I take husbands walking out just a wee bit personal. Mine left a few years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with our son. We were only married for a year, and my heart still hurts over it...I can not FATHOM the hurt that 20 years would bring. I'm SO sorry!!! BIG HUGS!!!
  16. After about 3 days, you'll still be sore, but able to move around and function. I have a 2 year old and needed my parents for a few days. Poor thing didn't understand why he couldn't sit on my mommy's lap...but after a few days, it was back to normal. But!....dman was right. I was told not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk for 6 weeks. After about 3-4 I was picking him up though (he's about 25 pounds). If he/she is able to get in the car on their own and all you have to do is buckle them in, that's good. If they can get up and down from their chair for meals, that's good. Just avoid lifting for as long as you can.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Rachel, I really really feel your pain and frustration. I've even gone as far as finding an Overeater's Anonymous meeting in my local area...but I haven't brought myself to go yet. They have a questionairre you answer yes or no to and if you answer yes 3 or more times, then you are a food addict. I answered yes to ALL of them. :bolt: I don't know how to stop. I haven't lost anything in 3...going on 4...months. I know what I'm doing wrong, but for some reason feel powerless to stop. Every day I wake up telling myself, TODAY will be different. But then by nightfall, as my kids are in bed and no one can see...I start my eating. Cheese and crackers, a glass of wine, some Fritos, a couple of cookies....by the time I go to bed, I am so sick to my stomach. Does anyone attend WLS support group meetings? I've never been, but have thought about it. But the meetings are usually over topics such as how to eat on vacation, exercising, etc...I want SUPPORT...not a weight watchers meeting. Ya know?

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Skinnygirl margarita is YUMMM!! I like 'em a little sweeter so I add a sprinkle of Equal. I've started getting some bad habits and have seen the scale stop for about a month. I've learned no ice cream in the house or I will it. I've learned things to snack on that are good for me rather than sabotage me, so hopefully I'll see some loss on the scale soon. I haven't had a fill in 2 months and don't really plan on getting one soon. I think any more restriction and it will be hard to eat. My problem now isn't how much I can eat, it's how soon I get hungry again. I can eat small amounts, but in about 1.5 - 2 hours, I'm hungry again. Kinda defeats the purpose, huh? Oh well...I'm gonna keep on trucking!

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Just got my third fill yesterday. The doctor was very congratulatory on my success...made me feel good! In May, the Baritriac Center is sponsoring a "Clean out your closet" day and going to let us set up tables to sell our too big clothes. Very excited about that b/c I need to make some serious room for all my new littler clothes. :bored:
