The Day After Surgery

Can't say I'm looking forward to blended pork chops....but I forgot to mention, I have fibromyalgia so my body feels pain easier and heals slower.....I have no doubt I'll be in a good deal of pain. Pain, I'm used to plus my doc is gonna repair a hernia as well so.... Thanks for the info, I'm gonna compose a shopping list and have the comforts and liquids ready so my hubby doesn't have to worry about anything but the kids. -
Somebody....anybody w/fibro, please tell how you manage the excercise. Please tell me the pain lessens as the pounds come off and has your weightloss been at a snails pace? Celeste

TMI Warning: Having a serious constipation issue. HELP!!
warriors_journey replied to bennigancat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You poor thing. I use something my gyno told me about years ago. It's called a probiotic. Something to do with micro-organisim in the intestinal track. This isn't an immediate help unless you can find it at GNC or Vitiamin World but it works and I take it every single day!! Hope you have some relief soon - I know you pain all too well. I need help guys!! Has anyone had the VSG approved under BCBS of TX, TRS for state ISD's? I was told today that the band and the bypass were covered but not the sleeve - this doesn't make any sense to me. Another question, how does BCBS of TX use or view the new CPT codes for 2010? I saw the sleeve code under another tread but I'm prayihg and hoping it will apply to TRS. The website in the other thread was http://www.hdmcorp.com/pdf/CPT%20Codes%20Effective%2001012010.pdf and the code # is 43775. Please, anyone w/knowledge help help help!! :cursing:

I was wondering how many people would be interested in joining a clothing swap club for a small yearly fee? I know I can't afford a new wardrobe every 2 sizes but I still need to look professional at work so......

Clothing Exchange
warriors_journey replied to warriors_journey's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Girl, you sound like me. Not to be materialistic but if I buy nice things then I'd like to trade for nice things. So if we have a site dedicated for WLS patients to trade, where we can post photo's, list brand and if we remeber where we bought it, type and style. Don't get me wrong, I'm as broke as a joke right now but at one time I could buy (w/i) reason the the clothing I wanted. So I'd like to trade w/i reason for something comparable. Am I wrong? -
If I knew pre-op what I know post-op, I would have....
warriors_journey posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was talking with the dietician today at my "mandatory supervised program" and she said something that struck me. She stated that people who have had this surgery will tell you all the things they wish they would have done differenty pre-op as opposed to making the changes post-op. So, if you could go back what changes would you make? -

Clothing Exchange
warriors_journey replied to warriors_journey's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It doesn't seem to be very organized. I'm wondering where ALL weight loss surgery patients can go and exchange clothing....I've checked other forums and perhaps this one is different but it's not very organized. I've read that some people aren't donating just accepting and not paying it forward. Just a question... -

Houston area sleevers?
warriors_journey replied to renebeau's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My goodness....God bless you Shanda and congrats! Hey Angela, it's me. I got your email, thanks it was the kind of information I'm looking for. I did look up Dr. Alanis, he accepts BCBS but w/my insurance the procedure has to be done at a "bariatric center of excellence" and there are only 3 in the area (Hou NW, Methodist and Memorial Hermann. I called his office to find out for sure but per the BCBS site, he doesn't operate in any those 3 but the person that answered the phone said he will operate out of Memorial SW, but the wife will call me back. Thanks again!! -
Houston area sleevers?
warriors_journey replied to renebeau's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello Renebeau, I live in spring and am just beginning this process. I'm still a little on the fence between the sleeve and the band but it's tipping over towards that sleeve. I wish you nothing but the best in your procedures and results and would love to keep in contact with you. I've had 2 consults w/Dr. Wilkenson and Dr. Spiegel. I may go to Dr Alanis. Again, keep in touch. Celeste -
