  7. Now, u have me nervous....my insurance nurses called me the other day and told me since I've lost a good amount of weight, I need to monitor my pressure. Was on 2 meds (one is a Water pill I take when the other one doesn't work alone). I've been monitoring it and it's seems low but it does register like 92/66, 112/70, 113/70. Is this too low (will have to google or webmd?? I know to stop the water pill so now I'm down to one bp med.
  8. @adagray I'd like to read this article. Do you know if I can find it online?

I'm full, and yet I'm hungry!

I haven't seen any other posts about this, so I did a search b/c I'm pretty sure whatever I'm feeling.....I'm not the first and certainly not the only person feeling like this. I'm looking for some current opinions on this. I'm sitting here, can't put another bite of yogurt in my mouth but my larger stomach is screaming at me....calling me out of my name b/c it's hungry. This is NOT head hunger, I've tackled the emotional part of head hungry, emotional eating and just WANTING TO EAT.

To eat or not to eat???

I'd like to read some current views regarding an "eating schedule." The hospital gave me a sample schedule but my surgeon hasn't (I'll ask at my next appointment). I was just wondering what your opinions are. I'm learning if I wait until I'm growling....It's not a pretty outcome.

I've lost 42 lbs. Most of it was b/f surgery. I lost 20 w/the supervised diet and then some w/the pre-op diet and the last 10 was post op. I was banded on 6/28. My post op appt is next week and I still have my stips on & they're starting to itch!!

    Swallowing Pills??

I was swallowing pills the same day as my surgery. I've been swallowing most of my other meds w/o any incident. The only capsule I open isn't much bigger then my bp rx but my doc said to open it for about a week and then I should be able to swallow w/no problem. I plan to swallow it today. Good luck.

    banded 5 days, no appetite....

I know what u mean. I was banded 6/28 and now I'm having trouble determining if "I'm hungry or not" but then I think I could eat king crab, smoke sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob but can only get about 3 oz of cream of wheat and I feel like I actually ate all of the former. Do I want to eat...hell yes, can I nope!! But that's why I got this thing in the 1st place.

    My motivation: leather pants!!

I need another option...all of the above. In order... 1. health is number one 2. I'd like to stop all the Rx's and doc visits. Walk the entire six flags, water parks, universal studio....or whatever w/the family. 3. I also have a huge amount of clothes in a smaller size (including a pair of leather and suede pants) that I'd like to wear. 4. I have a reunion coming up as soon and I don't expect to be at my goal by then but damn close.

    Lap Band Surgery Day Stories

I made it fellow bandsters. I arrived at the hospital at 5am, walked in and straight to the pre-sugical room, changed and then had to wait. The lady came to me regarding my co-pay and sighing that other scary papers. The did the IV, blood work, ekg and x-ray all while my hubby was napping. Was outside my OR at 7:15 am and watched them prep my room. Everyone was nice and supportive my doc was a little agitated b/c the other staff wasn't on time and ready to go. Went into the OR about 7:30am, they gave me some "relax u" juice, put the mask on me and it was night night time. When I was coming too, I did feel the tube coming out of my throat, it didn't hurt just felt them remove it. Went to recovery and was there 4ever!! I was in a good deal of pain and when my hubby came back all he saw was his wife w/tears streaming down my cheeks - that set him off a tad but by the time he had gotten there they had given me some pain meds 3 or 4 times and explained to him that they had to space it out in increments or I'd stop breathing. Finally got the pain under control. Then they took me to x-ray again and I had to drink the dye and saw it on the monitor as it went down. I thought I was gonna gag on that stuff but by noon it tasted like a mimosa!! From there to my room where I walked to the restroom and couldn't have anything to drink until about 4 or 5pm. Talk about thirsty. A few teaspoons of broth and I was full. Drank diet lemonade and water after that point. Didn't sleep well at all that night, was up and down - to the bathroom and walked the halls and back to bed. I was discharged early this morning w/a grocery bag of meds. My gas pain was pretty bad right after surgery but it was lots better soon after. I'm home, stomach still bloated, still running to the bathroom to get the fluid off, throat hurts, some discomfort and pain but not bad. I only have 4 incisions. 3 small and one w/the port. I was able to swallow my HBP pills and other medication w/no problem. They also gave me a binder....anybody else get one? I have to wear it for 2 weeks, it just wraps around and velcro closure & it fits from under my breast to below my waist. Now I'm just a little paranoid that I'm drinking too much and/or not getting enough protein; I'll get it together, it's only day 2. Thanks for all the support bandsters!!!
