Milestone Day...52 lbs down and goodbye to the 300's
Ready2 replied to Diamondgirl81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Milestones are so exciting and Congrats! Mine should happen anyday now. I weigh 200.5 lbs. and can't wait to see 199! -
March 29th and very emotional
Ready2 replied to Nelsonsmum's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Everyone is different! I had my consultation 1/10/10. Then had my surgery 1/31/10. BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. In 6 weeks I have lost 28 lbs. - I have had normal blood sugars tests everyday for the last month. That's a miracle for me. This morning my fasting glucose test was 98! I had my first fill last weekend. I was never told to avoid strawberries, in fact, I add them in the blender each morning in my Protein shake. I do fine with "moist" chicken and ground beef. I haven't tried steak yet. I haven't tried any type of bread yet - too paranoid. I had a chili rellano and had no problems. Remember chew chew chew - small bites at all times! -
Did something very naughty, paid for it BIG time

I got my first fill last Sunday. I'm petrified of getting anything stuck after reading your story. -
Dr. Nazarian did my surgery on 1/31/10. I got my 1st fill this morning. I really like him and have lost 25 lbs. in 5 weeks. Good luck with your journey.

Do I really need Lap Band?
Ready2 replied to sammy625's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well - I am 46 years old - started at 229 lbs. with a BMI of 35.9. I tried so hard to handle my pre-diabetes with diet but unfortunately passed into the Type 2 stage. I had my surgery on 1/31/10 and have already lost 25 lbs. and guess what? I have had 3 straight weeks of NORMAL blood sugar readings. I believe this surgery is giving me my life back. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! -
You and I had our surgeries just days apart. I was banded on 1/31, so today is 4 weeks post-op. I have lost 23 lbs. so far. I followed my doctor's exact instructions and it is working. Thankfully I am never hungry! I receive my first fill on 3/7. Soon you and I will be posting before & after pics that we can be proud of. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Port In/Near BellyButton
Ready2 replied to philippians413's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like a good place. Mine is to the right of my belly button and up about 2 inches. -
I had bad gas pain for the first 3 days. Hours and hours using the heating pad is what helped me.

Congratulations - I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and it is the best thing I have ever done. The start of my new life! -
Diarrhea 3 days post-op, normal???
Ready2 replied to momran's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the opposite effect. I was banded on 1/31/10 and I didn't go until day 5 post-op. Everything is fine now. My mind wants food, but my tummy gets full so fast on liquids. One day at a time. -
California low cost lapband with references
Ready2 replied to Justine11dod's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was banded on 1/31/10 by Dr. Nazarian in San Dimas, CA. I was treated exceptionally well by the Dr. and the entire staff. Angie is my coordinator and she is the BEST! I definately recommend them. -
5-day Pouch Test- Menu suggestions?
Ready2 replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh Juliansmom - I want to thank you for the recipes. I am just 4 days post-op and have been struggling to gag down these protein shakes. I look forward to trying these meals in about a month. -
Might sound disgusting, but I burped a few times just now and that felt so much better. My surgery was at 6am this morning and I think I'm doing pretty darn good!
-
My surgery was TODAY.....I am doing great except for the gas pain. Any suggestions to make it go away?
-
I have to be on liquids for 2 weeks. Are you allowed eggs already?
-
Oh geez - can anyone give me directions on how to get my ticker on my signature?
-
I think I will try your idea with the Isopure. So far it's nasty. Feels like it leaves a coating on my teeth. Disgusting.
-
Need a good protien shake to keep me full.
Ready2 replied to neesh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Iso-Pure gives me a gross feeling like something is coating my teeth. Am I weird or what? -
I will be the last of the January bandsters as my surgery is on Sunday 1/31. I am so excited. Can't wait to share my experience with all of you.
-
I will be banded on Sunday 1/31 - so I am the last of the January bandsters. I am really excited and so glad to have found this forum. My doctor only required all liquids 2 days pre-op. This morning I had an Iso-Pure - YUCK. I'm hoping to find something that tastes better. Any suggestions?

I have a desk job. About how long after surgery do you think I will be off work?

How long did you stay off work?
Ready2 replied to Ready2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to the doctor this morning (yes on a Sunday) and we scheduled my surgery for next Sunday 1/31. I am really excited. Dr. told me that I should stay home for 3 days minimum. -
Wow - I need to be added to the January bandsters. Went to see my doctor this morning and I am now scheduled for January 31st!!!! Can't wait to start my journey with all of you.
