    Anyone still here?

Hey, I did SO well for the first 4 ish years but I have gained almost all my weight back. I am just here seeing if any of you are still working with your band. I see a lot of people getting revisions to the sleeve and bypass but has anyone had luck getting a secondary or even dare I say, longterm weight loss with the band? Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Can I ask why you had it removed? I have considered it. And also considered trying to fill it again. I can't decide what I am doing!

I think I may have lost control

I too am struggling. I am 8 years (almost) post-op and I did quite well for the first 4 years but these last 4-5 years have been a battle. I have had a lot of issues with getting fills as my band is EXTREMELY sensitive, so I have little restriction these days. My doctor moved 1.5 hours away from where I live and that makes upkeep with the fills even more difficult. Also, I have been through many emotional ups and downs that have caused many a night of binge/stress eating. I had gotten down to 175lbs (79kg) in 2013 and then have slowly but steadily gained back almost all of my weight. I was very defeated for a while. I am slowly learning that you have to ask yourself why you want to lose weight and get back on track. Then you use those whys as motivation to stick to your diet and exercise regimen. Eventually you will get to a point where you have to take action, sadly that took me much longer than I would've liked. I still make bad food choices (I am a sugar addict (>.<)) but I am trying to be more conscious of my food choices and why I am making the choices that I know are wrong. I don't know if you enjoy exercise, I don't. I make it a goal to get some yoga in every day. Even if it is a short 10 min bout of it, as long as I get it in I can feel accomplished for the day. Anything is better than nothing on those hard days. And please remember, don't let the small gains discourage you. That is such a slippery slope and how I wound up in the situation I am in! I hope this offered some sort of help. Best of luck to you!

    Weight gain

I would recommend starting over on a form of the post-op diet or a self-made, real food (fresh veggies, fruits, as little processed foods as possible) diet and just be vigilant about it. We all err but we can all come back from it. You have to ask yourself why you want to lose weight and use those whys as motivation to stick to your diet and exercise regimen. Also, make sure you get you exercise in . I don't know if you enjoy exercise, I don't. I make it a goal to get some yoga in every day. 5. Hi. I was banded 12/8/9. I ate a single dorito chewed to creamy apple sauce consistency 2 days post op. I ate some tuna last night, a few bites chewed WELL, pickles (sliced, chewed well), and about 14 doritos tonight.... mind you I am chewing like a pro. I am still supposed to be on the full liquid diet and I am following it, ok.... but i am surviving off potato soup, special k protein shakes, ice cream, and popsicles.... i got the band so i could reduce my portion sizes and train myself SLOWLY to be a healthy eater, yet still enjoy my faves.... i just need some advice. I fear band slippage. I also feel little restriction and can eat ALOT.... so yeah... HELP!!!
  6. is it normal to have basically NO restriction though? this was my concern. i mean, i am not hungry, but i can eat a MUCh larger amount than I expected. idk. i am just a noob trying to figure all this out!!! :smile2:
  7. i am sticking to no sugar added ice cream and MOST of mmy popsicles are. like I said I have MAJOR food addiction and I am proud of myself for doing as well as I have. and i know Ill improve, I just dont want to mess myself up. I am trying to stick to the doctors rules because I KNOW they're there for a reason, but I also know it will take time for me to be able to undo the years and years of bad thinking in reference to food.
