I am relatively new to my proceedure. My journey all began in Sept. 09. I had a visit with my primary dr and told her that my weight loss has just halted, in fact it was going back up. Nothing that I tried was working for me and my frustration level was rising. I have known about the Lap-band for sometime, but it was still really new. I also knew that the Gastric Bypass wasn't the direction for me.Well my dr. sent a referral out and shortly after I was on my way. Oct 13th, I had my first visit with the nutrionist, then the psych, and so on. Basically things moved really quickly. My consultation with Dr. Waldrep was on the Nov. 10 and my surgery was Nov. 23Surgery went really well. Dr. Waldrep and Dr. Kane (Anesthesologist) were both fantastic.. and of course, we can't forget all the wonderful nurses. I went home the same day and wasn't in much pain at all. It did take a day or two to really get moving again, but for the most part it was slow and easy. My first day to eat soft foods was Thanksgiving day. I ate tablespoon of mash potatoes and that was pretty much it. I thought Thanksgiving would be tough, but it actually wasn't.Well i'm still in recovery, so hopefully by my next appt. later this month I will get my 1st fill.
