    Cool Tool for mixing shakes....

Hey I also have another suggestion. I bought a bottle at GNC called the blender bottle. It has this little whisk ball inside it and works wonders on powdered shakes. It works great for when you are on the go because the powders tend to settle and this little ball just stays in the bottle and you can shake it back up when ever. Great tool.
  4. Thanks everyone for your support. I really needed it. So yesterday was hell...I was hungry the whole time and all I could think about was food. Now I am on day two and I feel a lot better. I am still wicked hungry but am not thinking as much about food. I even had to stop this morning to grab my kids something quick for breakfast from McDonalds after a Orthodontist appointment. They got the cinnamon melts and they smelled so good but it wasn't that bad. I have to say that I think I can do this now. I didn't feel like I could yesterday. I am not hungry now as much as I am tired. I am taking in 60-70 grams of protein a day but am limited to only 22grams of net carbs. I have no calorie restriction but I think that carbs is harder to restrict than calories. Everything has carbs in it! So I have coffee in the morning with some unflavored protien powder in it (Unjury) 20grams protien. A shake for lunch 40 grams protien, green tea through out, lots of water, and for dinner I have chicken broth and a half of protien shake 20 protien. That is all I can have. But it works for me I guess.
  5. I am on the first day of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I am out of my mind with hunger. I am soooo tired and I have a horrible headache. I have taken some Tylenol and had some black coffee but I don't seem to be any better. How do you get through this??? I can't imagine what the next two weeks is going to be like. I can't stop thinking about food. Please tell me that this will dissapate after a few days. If not I feel like I wont make it. HELP!!!! I am loosing it.
  6. Yes I have gained weight too!!! And I know it is because I am eating like a pig. I have to start my liquid diet on Monday - in two days and three nights. I am hoping 2 weeks of liquids will at least get me to where I was when I decided on the lap band. I have gained 15lbs. My surgery date is on 3/23 in Mexico.
  7. Hi Fern, My surgery date is March 22nd and I can't wait!!!! I am finding it harder to control myself closer to the surgery date. I am having my surgery done in Mexico because I am self pay so there isn't as much doctor patient interaction before hand. I have gained a few pounds in the last few weeks because I have been eating so much. Feel like I will never be able to eat normal again....which I know isn't true. I have three more weeks until my pre-op diet. I have started to taper down a bit. I find that I am really excited and scared and nervous. But I know that I am making the right choice. I cannot wait until the pounds start creeping down! Does anyone else feel like this is the start of a new life. I seem to be putting things off until after the surgery. Like getting my hair highlighted for example. It is like I feel like there isn't a point right now. I actually feel more ashamed about my weight now than I ever did before and sort of like I cannot do anything until after the surgery. I know this is not a healthy mindset. Does anyone else feel like this?

    Question about PB's

Thank you all so much for your help!!! I feel a little better now. I am not telling a lot of people about my surgery so I don't want to be PBing unexpectedly at work. I am also one of those people that will go to the ends of the earth to avoid throwing up so PB's not being like actual throwing up makes me feel better about my choice to go with the band. After I made my choice I was second guessing because of the PB issue. Thank you!!:smile2:
  9. Ok I know this seems weird but I have a question about PB's. How does it work?? I mean are you given a warning....like do you know you are going to and have time to get to the bathroom or does it just come up?? Is it like throwing up with heaving or just like a hick up that food comes up with??? The reason I am asking is I am terrified of having it happen at work and not getting to the bathroom. Also, how much comes up? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!!!

    Anyone getting banded in Mexico???

Thank you for responding. I have done a ton a research but am still nervous. My insurance company will not cover any expenses related to this so if I have complications it is all me. I am too miserable and unhealthy to stay the way I am and dieting just has not worked. The one thing I am really concerned about is I have a phobia of throwing up....and from what I am reading......well it should be expected at points. So I am trying to come to terms with this little tid bit but otherwise I am very excited to move on with my new life and start shopping for new clothes!!!:rolleyes2:
  11. HI, Is anyone here getting banded in Mexico?? I have many questions. I am not too worried about the surgery it self but more the post op care. I have made sure I have a Dr. here that will do my fills but what do I do if something goes wrong or I have questions? I am a self pay so everything is out of pocket for me.....even the fills at $180 a piece. I am very concerned I will not be able to get help if I need it once I get back. Your help is greatly appreciated.:scared2:
