:cursing: Hi everyone my name is Catherine I decided to get the LAP-BAND®®®. So today I had my first consult 12/21/09 with Dr. Ahmad. (after i went to the seminar 12/8/09.) I talked to his wife (she is also his assistant) first because he was still in surgery and it was taking a little longer then usual. When i got there i was kinda aggravated cause i found out that they are out of network and prior to the visit i ask if they took my insurance and they said yes (Which they do) but i guess i should have ask if they were in network. Soooo if i decide to do my surgery with Dr. Ahmad it will cost me 537$ and thats all, and 15$ per doctor visit (fills). I think i am going to just stick with this doctor since i feel comfortable with him and just pay for 536$ even though if go with someone in my network it will probally only cost me 19 per appt. i dont know if im thinking realistic or i just want to have the surgery right away idk (what do you think) So today I was able to make all my appts and if everything goes well i will have my surgery sometime in feb. hopfully early feb. everything is going super fast. :huh2:I have to lose 12 lbs before surgery:thumbup: 10:15am 12/23/09-Cardiology consult 8:30am 12/28/09-Bloodwork, ultrasound, pulmonary. 12:30pm 12/29/09-Pych 1:30pm 01/05/09-Nutrition 01/14/10-Endoscopy Cardiology have to plan right away so i can have the surgery in January. 3:15pm 01/19/10-Follow up with Dr. Ahmad!! Then plan a date for surgery:w00t: :thumbup:If everything goes right i am automatically approve!!!:scared2: :rolleyes:so I hope nothing comes up negative on any of the test so I can have this surgey.

But I read people paid 6000 7000 plus more to travle back and fourth to mexico for upkeep in mexico but why not sign up for health insurance and pay like 200$ a month to have health insurance that will pay for the surgery I really don't understand the logic if someone can get 8000 9000 plus more when needed to go back and fourth to mexico why can't that be use towards health insurance that would cover the procedure and be more safer.

Hi everyone I have my first appt with him on december 21 09 and I will just like to know does he make u diet before surgery and what test does he ask of you Thanks in advance

I notice that everyone who had a problem said they got they lapbad put in: in mexico that to me seems to solve the whole problem I know this surgery didnt develop in the USA but I would never go to mexico for any thing u can bearly drink the water out there..I hear stories all the time about surgeries going wrong and at then end of the story its always a mexican doctor holding the scaple,, I think maybe if you got the surgery out here you wouldn't have had the problems you had.. not being judgmental.. just putting in my 2cents
