  2. Happy 55th Birthday kayleesmom!

  3. 5 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 5th Anniversary kayleesmom!

  4. Surgery Oct. 4th / 31lbs. lost / 1 fill / Sadly, not much exercise. Had knee surgery on Dec. 7th. This is my first day off the crutches. Though I must say, crutches can be an exercise, especially when you're hauling around 220 plus pounds.... LOL Can't wait to see how everyone's doing. Haven't been around much since I had the knee done, so I'm pretty much out of touch. I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and let's knock 2007 out of the park. Take care Band Buddies..........Need to update the ole ticker.

    October 2006 Bandsters!

OK band buddies, I did it. Had the first fill this morning. Turns out he does flouro. It was absolutely no big deal. Didn't feel a thing. He said I was going to be a little tight, so I don't know if I like the sound of that. I guess time will tell. Definitely can't guzzle any water right now and my protein drink went down pretty slowly. I did have a few gurgles going on with the protein drink. I will let you know if anything eventful happens. :biggrin1:

My fill is scheduled for Nov 16th and I think I'm more nervous about that that the surgery itself......

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Sorry to hear you're having a tough 1st day. Did you at least wear something loose fitting? It makes it so much easier to sit if the old clothes aren't too tight. I had mine done on a Wed and came back on a Monday but everyone's procedure and pain tolerence are different. I hope you either feel better soon or don't have much longer work. Hang in there, sweetie, it DOES get better!!!

    Soup Concoctions?

WOW....:faint: My mouth just fell open reading that list. Not much makes me happier than Southern cooking. Some of the ladies at work take pity on me. One brought me chicken and dumplings last week!!! Threw all the chicken in the magic bullet and I was good to go. I don't mind cooking for someone else, I just have a hard time doing it for me. I find it hard to cook for 1, even more so now that the portions are so much smaller. I'm pretty sure I'm missing that cooking gene also. :think

    October 2006 Bandsters!

HA! It's not that I don't WANT to eat it. It just went down WAY too easliy. I am scheduled for my first fill on the 16th and don't want to undo what little weight loss I've had so far. I am having little visions of what all I could eat before the 16th and I don't need to go there! The last thing I want is to put some of this weight back on. I had been very content with my tuna snacks until Sat night. Nothing quite like good ole mexican food!!!!

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Raynie... I ordered the enchiladas. At Joe T's, it's either that or fajitas. All I will say is this: I do believe ALL my post op swelling has gone away. BAD Rhonda! But it sure was good..... (They never should have told me I can eat regular food. I think I'm gonna play like they didn't. Protein drink and oatmeal so far today) :phanvan

I couldn't agree with you more about JJ!!! My poor Kasey, he couldn't buy any luck with a black American Express! Tell me that's not a cute face on that kid! I can't believe it's almost over....

    Soup Concoctions?

LOL! Carlene, you'd be amazed at what I could put up with for a home cooked meal. Good one, dear....

    Soup Concoctions?

Thanks so much, Carlene. They look absolutely scrumptious! Maybe my new band will encourage me to cook more band friendly foods. Also thanks for uploading them. They worked like a charm! Hey, how about adopting me? I'm old and gainfully employed, so you would only have to keep me around dinner time..... :biggrin1: :hungry:

    October 2006 Bandsters!

Hi bandits! It's my one month Bandiversary! For the most part things have gone well. There is so much to learn and get used to. I can hardly believe a month has gone by. Chrispygal, I too, am stuck on 235.4. Starting to wonder if the scales really work. LOL Glad to hear yours moved!!! I seem to have little things going on instead of the scale..NSV's I believe they are called. My clothes are way too loose, my watch is sliding on my arm and my favorite Mavs ball cap is actually loose on my head. That one cracked me up. My doc is letting me eat regular food. I do that for maybe 1 of my 3 meals of the day. Still not comfortable going full solids yet. My pouch seems fine, my brain just isn't ready. I really don't want to mess anything up. My only real concern is my fill. I am scheduled for the 16th, but have an appt with my knee Dr on Monday. If he can fit me in for my knee surgery, I am going to hold off on the fill. I have never had any trouble being put under, but I don't want my first problem one to be with a newly tightened band. Last thing I want is to be nauseous and tight. At the same time, I am sad to think of having to put off my first fill. Ah well, I've decided, better safe than sorry. I am going out to dinner tonight with friends at Joe T Garcia's (mexican food). Wish me luck!!! Thanks to all my Oct. bandster buddies and the rest of the gang for being there. Best of luck and continued success to everyone! We CAN do this!!!
