Having been overweight my entire life i have missed out on so much! School was terrible, i felt like i just existed. My weight made me quit and shy and nice to the extreme. In high school i became a straight A student while others had parties to go to and friends to hang out with, i really wanted that. I never got in trouble because i never went anywhere, my mom was happy but i wasnt. No prom, no dates, to say the least no boyfriend it was horrible. Im now 35 years old with lots of regrets. Im married to a wonderful man and i have 2 beautiful girls, but i havent been living my life the way i want to because of my weight. My doctor recommended the lapband system to me after i was diagosed with type 11 diabetes and very high blood pressure, but at the time the insurance we had didnt cover it. My husband changed careers and joined the military. I found out that tricare will cover it. I am thrilled that i finally have the chance to have this surgery and a chance at a happier healthier life i deserve. Im in the process now getting everything my surgeon and insurance requires. Ive done the pshyc eval. and i had to have a sleep study. The only thing i have left to do is gather all my medical records then submit all my information to tricare. Im happy, nervous, and ready to begin my journey.                                                                                                                                                   tina
