Hi txprincess, Yes I have experienced that a lot and it is extremely uncomfortable. I could not sleep for weeks literally. I had to sleep sitting up and the gas pain Whoa!! That's the bad news. The good news it it does get better. Just hang in there! I am 35lbs down and I feel really good I'm wearing the clothes that could not fit me. I work out a lot and all of this helps. You will be fine. Don't worry. P.S at least you burp mine comes out the other end and if I try to hold it in I suffer so I have to let it go LOL. Ki-ki

Wow Cherie, That process would intimidate anyone! Keep up the good work. As for me I'm eating better (by motivation) and I excercise a lot. Thankfully my job allows me time to work out. I am so happy for US for taking the steps to healthier living. My goal is 100 pounds and I lost 34 already so I have 66 more to go. I can not wait. I get excited just thinking about it. PS a fill every two weeks GREAT!! Good luck!

Thank you AliceZ that was good information. My BMI is 42 so I guess I fall in the 10 day category. It is going well thus far. I was worried about Christmas my mother cooked so much food. I did it! I ate some collard greens that's it along with my shakes. I know that I am truly ready to change my life style. Merry Christmas to all

Hi I'm getting banded on the 5th. It is right around the corner. My doctor told me I can have as much greens as I want. I thought that will make life so much easier, however not very tasty withot all the butter and salt I'm used to putting on it but at least it give me a short break from the shake. I have serious headaches BUT when I think about how I will look after I just keep going. WE are definitely gonna make it. Good luck to you.

I getting banded on January 5 at 11:00 am. I live in Connecticut and I am excited. A little scared but I have to do this. I am 37 years old and is taking 5 pills a day for high blood pressure. 3 in the morning and 2 at night. The pills make me feel awful at work. In order to alleviate the drowsiness at work I have to set the alarm for 4am take the pills try to go back to sleep so that when I get to work for 8:30 the feeling will at least be wearing out. Thank God I have an understanding boss who is truly rooting for me. the best part is I work at a college so I am off for the entire time because we are on break! Sweet deal. I just started my optifast shake diet that my doctor recommends and it is hard. I feel really hungry. Last night I had some bland broccoli. I have to do this and the protien bars aren't that bad. The shake actually taste like something my mother use to give us as children called nutriment. Even my kids don't think its bad. I have been peeking around this site and it has helped me soooooo much. Just reading the other stories I feel mentally prepared. I know what to pray about like the nausea and the gas pains. I know to bring a pillow for the ride home and other neat stuff. So I really want to just give all pre & post banders a shout out. We can do this! Kiesha

Hello everyone, I am new to this site but I have been reading the stuff for a few days and it has done wonders for me mentally. My big day in Jan 5 (19 days) and then I will be banded. Congratulations to all that has done it and for those who have not be encourage!! -
I am glad that you are choosing to live because that is exactly what this is. People forget sometimes that this will still take work. We still have to choose to eat right, and excercise. The lap band to me is a tool to assist us in keeping the weight off. I am scheduled for January 4th and I CAN NOT WAIT. I am so tired of being overwieght! I have to take 5 pills a day for my high blood pressure, I have no motivation, my back is always hurting me and I am only 37 years old. Sometimes our love ones don't understand because they don't have to live in our body. I have happy that you are choosing to live. I too, choose to live. I am 280lbs 5'8 size 24 clothes. Now I can see me as 165lbs size 12/14 clothes and most importantly NO pills! Ki-Ki
