What do you say when you get THAT question??
CoryW replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was very upfront about what i was doing. Because of that I've had very few people wondering how I'm losing. Mostly, people ask me how I'm doing. I've even been able to inspire a few to look into it. People who are looking for conspiracy and something to talk about are going to talk anyway. I'd much rather they talk about how I had the procedure and how I'm looking better than talking about how fat I'm getting. -
even before i was banded, i would always sneeze when i was full. this would happen long before my stomach let my brain know to stop eating.

well i haven't posted in a while so i thought i'd post an update on my journey. about 2wks after surgery my surgery(15th) i was having a wierd pain just below my sternum. my surgeon put me in the hospital for tests and observation. everything checked out and the pain went away. except for those couple of days and a bad sinus infection everything has been going great. i've lost 28lbs so far. I've very excited that i can now wear the nice clothes to work that i used to fit in. looking forward to not being able to wear them but for a different reason. i have to go see my cardiologist this week to have my bp medicine adjusted. my bp has dropped dramatically from changing my diet and losing almost 30lbs. it's to the point now where it's too low and making me feel bad. but this is a good problem to have to deal with. i haven't had time to read how everyone else is doing but i hope all is going well.

I had one that started giving me problems a couple of years ago. It felt like I had been punched in the stomach all the time. Not sure if pregnancy will aggravate it but I'm sure my big fat gut attributed to it getting worse. I finally had surgery on it in Feb of 05 and haven't had any problems since.

I told everyone I was being banded. Everyone was very supportive and genuinely excited for me. I think everyone knew that getting the weight off is the right thing to do. When I first considered doing this I was reluctant because I felt like i had somehow failed and was giving up. Then something clicked and i just realized that not everyone is the same.

Well everything has been going well since being banded on 9/15. Everything was healing fine when i went to my post op appointment. I'm walking 40-60 min a day. a sinus infection has made things suck just a bit. as of this morning i'm down 15lbs since banding and can definitely see the results.

Any advice will be appreciated. I've never been able to sleep on my back but i can't lay any other way because of the pain where my port is. any helpful experience dealing with this. I would love to get more than about 4hrs of sleep.

well day 3 had definitely been the toughest as far as the soreness goes especially around where the port was placed. I'm not very bloated though, the walking really helped with that. Other than that everything has been great.

Well It's 6:00am the day after surgery and I'm feeling pretty good. I was real sore around where they put the port when i came out of surgery but not to bad now. I walked 3 laps around the hospital floor about 4hrs after surgery. I got home about 7pm and slept til this morning. I'm going for a walk as soon as it gets a little lighter this morning. unfortunately both my wife and my daughter have come down with strep throat.

I will be tomorrow. I'll let you know how everything goes. So far Dr. Naaman and his staff have been great. They've taken care of practically everything for me so that all I have to worry about is getting myself ready for surgery.
