Gall Stones After LapBand?
ElizabethNYC replied to sisterwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor has never mentioned anything about preventing gall stones so I don't think all doctors do it. -
Messed up first day of liquid diet.
ElizabethNYC replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just make sure you get right back on that liquid diet. No harm done, today is a new day! Good luck. -
When I was waiting for a date I was getting nervous as well because I am going away in early May. For me personally if I didn't think I'd have enough time to recover I would of waited till after my trip. I was scared that within the first few weeks something would go wrong and I wouldn't have my surgeon within 15 minutes of my house. Good luck with everything!!

I actually watched on youtube before my surgery. I wanted to kind of know what was going while I was in dreamland. -
6 months of supervised diet?
ElizabethNYC replied to Randiscan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do 6-months of weigh ins, no journaling. I can promise you this, the 6 months do go fast and before you know it you'll have a surgery date!! Good luck. -
Wrapping My Brain around this
ElizabethNYC replied to Dibley Dawn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello!! First off where in NYC?!?! I'm a NYC girl myself. I think everyone has pretty much summed up what I was going to say. I still gulp Water because there are a few times where I get really thirsty and just need it to be quenched. Right now I have no restriction and starting to slowly introduce solids back into my diet and although I do crave carbs sometimes, I just pretty much tell myself that I didn't spend a year and a half fighting to be banded to mess it up. I wish you the best of luck and hope it all goes well for you!!! -
Almost solid food time
ElizabethNYC replied to chocolettebelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the same boat as you. I've been on liquids/mushy since the beginning of March and now I am starting to slowly introduce solids into my diet. I know I don't even have a fill yet but I'm scared of the weight gain. I think we'll be fine as long as we watch what we eat and get our exercise in we'll still see the scale going down. Good luck!!! -
Congrats!!!!

I Hate my Pre-Op Diet!!
ElizabethNYC replied to sandy1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what my diet was, all liquid all the time! Good luck to all of you. I know it sucks now but I promise you it's worth it in the end. -
Having to take piercings out
ElizabethNYC replied to Sammi14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your surgeon, he'll let you know if it's ok to leave them in or put a retainer in so they don't close. -
I did this. Once I knew it was coming up I made sure I hit up a couple of my favorite restaurants to get a few last meals in. The night before my liquid diet I had a big meal of pasta. Good luck with everything everyone!

Congrats on starting your journey but I'm sorry about the hiccups. While I was in the process of getting all my doctor appt's finished my original surgeon left the practice. I had to come in and meet the new surgeon and had to do my research on her. It was frustrating but I knew that my original surgeon would never leave her practice to someone who wasn't capable, it was her life! It all turned out well but it was frustrating at the time. Good luck with everything!

My favorite thing on my mushy phase was mashed cauliflower, sour cream (light) and fat free shredded cheese. Mmm it was good!! -
Eating with Baby Spoon??
ElizabethNYC replied to SDTeaGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's probably the weirdest request I've ever heard. I have no idea what that could be for but once you find out I would love to know! -
3 weeks post op still BURPING 24/7!!!!! HEEEEELLLLLP
ElizabethNYC replied to SammySam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still burp occasionally and they are some manly burps but nothing like what you're talking about. I would definitely put a call in to your surgeon and see if he or she has any advice. Hope everything turns out ok.
