    Lack of knowledge about Lap-Band

Hey guys.. I think she left. Do you think some people are so randomly defensive and touchy because they are hungry? :blushing: I know I hated everything and everyone on my pre op diet.

    Hiatal Hernia

I had one repaired but it didnt seem to effect me, i didnt even know I had it. I have heard they can be from overeating consistently.

    80 lbs down

  4. (pt 2) At first i didn't have much restriction and the first couple months were ALL about willpower. You may gain weight after surgery, it is normal so don't freak out. HIDE your scale! Only weigh every few days or you will be in tears a lot. I am just starting exercise- look into Couch to 5k, that is the best way to go! I can only speed walk through the run parts, but it burns great calories.

I go on this site a lot to keep me in line and give me inspiration.

If there is anything else you'd like to know, just ask. I like to help.

  5. Thank you! I would say do exactly what you are doing and be informed of the pitfalls that others suffer. Also, i really try to only eat 2 oz a meal. Other people on this site will eat a cup or even more, but my surgeon does not agree. I drink up until my first bite and then I wait an hour after my last to drink again, I drink 64 oz a day, I have 1 protein shake that is 30g of protein but I am supposed to have 3, I am trying to get better. I take vitamins: 1 multi, iron, folic acid, b12. I blend them in a magic bullet with my anti depressants into a piece of sugar free Popsicle.. I tried for months, but this is really the best way. The ice carries it back long enough to swallow without too much taste and it melts so it doesn't get stuck.

I chase it with crystal light. I would recommend stocking up on sugar free popsicles and crystal light!

    December Delights 2009

HI GUYS! I keep saying how sad I am that our group isn't more active, but now I see that you are all posting here! This is awesome, I need some friends that are going through the same thing at the same time! I am really excited because I lost 80 lbs so far, but I have a hard time sharing with anyone because I feel weird if they ask how and I dont know them that well. Plus, kind of ashamed that I had 80 to lose and 110 STILL left to go  I am having my wedding on October 21 and I hope to be under 200. I kind of jumped the gun and bought my dress and it wont really fit if I dont lose at least 40. Was that dumb? Well my rate has been really consistent at 10 lbs a month, so i thought it would be okay. Oh! I also wanted to celebrate because I am no longer MORBIDLY obese!!! just regular obese. ha

    Walking Playlist

OMG! this is a really good idea with the fast walking through the run intervals! I want to c25k so bad but I know I am too large and it could really damage me. I have been walking 2.5 to 3 miles a day but the fast walking could really bump me up on the fat burning. I also started at 326 and I am 245 now. I gotta do more or I am going to get flabby!!
  8. dont wait 2 weeks, you need to take some out now. you are going to start gaining or stop losing if you dont
  9. I haven't loved it yet. it always seems like a necessary evil to me.
  10. I don't know how many times I have read this on lapbandtalk (maybe 1 million or so) BUT THE POST OP DIET IS NOT TO LOSE WEIGHT!!!! it is to heal.

    Weight loss goals

my doctor asked my weight goal. I said 135 bc I want to be in a healthy formal range for 5'6". He asked the last time I weighed that much. I laughed really hard and said I was about 10 years old. HAHA:tongue_smilie:

    one year 4 month wait

aww I had to wait a year and 2 months  I feel your pain, but hang in there!
  14. I do not restrict myself from any food at all and I pretty much do not exercise unless you count small and seldom walks up the block. I sometimes wonder how much better I would be doing if I tried harder.
  15. I literally almost DIED 5 years ago because I couldn't afford going to a university and having health insurance. I was afraid of the bills so I waited until it was life or death. A friend had to drag me to the ER. It would have cost nothing to give me antibiotics but instead I was hospitalized for 2 weeks with a bladder, kidney, and blood infection. I had to drop out of school because of this and I STILL have debt I can't pay off. :tt1: this incident ruined my life and could have cost everyone a lot less stress and money. I still haven't completed school because i failed out of all my classes from missing too many from being sick for weeks. It is just my story. I hope that no one ever has to go through that or struggle even in their mid twenties just to get a Bachelor's Degree. (depression from this most definitely contributed to at least a hundred pound weight gain.)

    need advice

i dont think it's too tight! i think you are little swollen and besides, it is good that you stay full for a long time and can't eat too much. just be safe when eating and keep it up! if you can drink water and protein, but stay full off of very little food, that sounds PERFECT!
