  10. thanks bonafidwdiva! how did your surgery go? when are you headed back home?
  11. hello everyone. well, my surgery is scheduled for 11:30 this morning. i have to be at the hospital at 9am. i slept pretty good last night. i am very surprised. i had a really rouggh time with being on clears only so i opted to go to bed early. i am going to take my daughter to school this morning and the i am headed to hospital. not really nervous or scared any more. that other thread really helped me. i am now just anxious and excited. i cant wait to be on the other side of this operation. please keep my daughter and i in your prayers. i will update as soon as my eyes can focus!

    Today is the day!

hello eveyone! evweryrhing went as planned except having to wait a few hours past my scheduled surgery time to go under the knife. that was probably ablessinh in disguise because by the time my turn ame up, i was angry and annoyed that i could spit fire. the only thing i remember is the anesthesiologist telling me to take some deep breaths and the next i was waking up in pain. surgery went well. i has an upper gi series testerday mirnin and theb was put on clears. i ahvent really gotten much down. i am being disrchaged today. cant wait to be relaxing at home!
  14. I am an emotional wreck. As I am closing out my final week at work (my last day is Friday) and preparing myself for surgery on Monday, March 15, I am growing increasingly scared of the operation. I don?t think I am afraid of dying in and of itself; my biggest fear is leaving my daughter without a mother. I am a single mom and I know that no one is going to love and take care of her the way I will. This is the main thing that is really bothering me. I am tearing up thinking about it right now. I love my baby more than anything in this world and now I have been questioning the reasons I am doing this. At first I told myself that I am doing it to add years on to my life and to be around longer for my daughter. To get off of high blood pressure and high cholesterol medications. To be more active with her. Can?t I do all of this without risky surgery? Am I taking the easy way out? I am just so scared of leaving my daughter motherless I don?t know what to do.

    Scared to death!

Thanks for the encouragement, thinoneday. I wouldn't call my fears bizzare. In fact according to three pages of this thread, lots of soon to be sleevers and some vets have ane are currently going throught the same emotional rollercoster as I. 18 major surguries makes youmpretty experienced with being put under. For some of us this is the first time.
