I had been contemplating lapband surgery for about two years before making any moves. I have a asister/brother-in-law, and cousins that have had gastric bypass but that just wasn't for me. I started my search with my PCP and he led me to my surgeon. After what seemed like endless testing I had my surgery on Dec 1, 2009. During the process a hiatal hernia was repaired for which I am enternally grateful.  I am post-surgery and still feeling a little discomfort, not much pain but some real discomfort at the port site and at the hernia site but nothing I can't handle. I am hoping that with this tool I can finally achieve the success I have wanted for a long time.  I get a lot of inspiration from reading the stories of the people here...I hope someday I can be an inspiration to someone.
