I think since i'll be in Madison and its my old roomates birthday that i may just ditch the family and spend the day with him... mandy have you decided what car you want yet? i can see you behind the wheel of the xB!

I'll travel where ever on Saturday. i got a GPS for my birthday and i LLOVVEE it!! Gina i do the Avon Walk which is only 2 days. Personally i think its easier than the 3 day but i am just speculating since i have never done the komen. The 3 day is in August Chicago humidity and you're walking 20 miles a day. plus raising 400 bucks more. ouchers! My first AWBC was in 2005 and i trained for CRAP! I walked/hobbled Saturday til a little before the 9 mile marker. was literaly the last walker on the trail. Then i hopped on the sweep van to lunch and then took the van to the wellness village. I stayed at my moms cuz so not a camper. The next morning I could barely walk but went back. I think i made 3 miles on Sunday, mostly in tears cuz my legs and ankle wanted zip to do with me! But at no point did i feel like i didnt belong or was alone. the people and the volunteers at the AWBC are amazing. each yr gets better. My second year we just walked 10 miles on Saturday andn couldnt get up on Sunday. Last year we made i both days and walked a bit over 22 miles for the weekend. This year i am training to do all 39 miles... we'll see! I think next year or the year after i would like to do the Komen 3 day - just not in Chicago in August! maybe somewhere in the fall....

Hi Spice I had my surgery at DayOne and really like the staff there. There is a new center in OakBrook called Synchrony Health. I've met some of their staff at their support group meeting and I really felt comfortable there. Depending on where you are located, they may also be somewhere to consider. Sonia

i measure alot of my food and try to stay at 1/2 a cup. i live out of these glass one cup containers with measurements from Pampered Chef. Also for work I put lunches and snacks in 2 ounce containers. Everytime someone in my family buys new packs of containers I always swipe the tiny ones!

Hi friends Ok some of you may know my work drama over the last 6-7 months. Yesterday I counted and realized i had been out of work for 28 weeks. I'm temping but its not the same. Just made me cry. Quit my job to work for a nonprofit and ended up getting screwed 3 weeks later. So glad i quit my job with a retirement plan and benefits to persue a dream... Granted i was miserable but able to pay bills on time.... sigh... Anyway - I applied for a job that i think I would be very good at (alumni relations). i drag my best friend and husband to 2 alumni events to meet the new development guy and the president. Hit it off and really like them both. In December we have a phone interview - I think it went really well. Then the holidays came. and the silence.... silence... And the reposting of the position. Great. Evidently I wasnt what they wanted. But just to be sure I sent my resume again on the 23rd. Still nada. Now today as i see whats new and exciting on their website I see a new posting... Development Officer. This is in line with what I want to do and actually matches my fundraising experience better. While I have sent my resume (twice) now for the other postion - which i really really want but do concede I may be lacking somewhat in experience - just by a teeeensy twinge.... :frown: Do i send my resume for this and somehow word something to say - Although I have recently applied for the Alumni postion please consider me for this position if you think my qualifications are better suited here?? Help! what do you think? Sonia
